- billyjack1958, on 05/19/2008, -29/+188OVERWHELMING evidence exists to establish this as unequivocal truth. The GOP has committed voter fraud, conspiracy to defraud the voters and violated RICO! Not to mention that by shoving mcbush down our throats when so very very few of us want him as the nominee , they are effectively destroying their party and its credibility. It sure leaves anger in my heart and bitterness in my head.....I will NEVER forget what they have done this election cycle and will FOREVER vote accordingly.
- mikestrawman, on 05/19/2008, -12/+124Ron Paul and his supporters will not stop until the United States is once again a constitutional republic!
- kemp34, on 05/19/2008, -16/+122There is no doubt the decadent GOP establishment has essentially said "Let them eat cake" while the real Americans gather outside calling for a new way (actually, just a return to limited Constitutional government).

- ClosedCaption, on 05/19/2008, -7/+76I dont support Ron Paul but I do support Ron Paul supporters right to be heard. It sucks now that the GOP is now pulling the dirty tricks on one of their own...but its to be expected, party was more important than whats right when they do the same to the Dems. Now some are forced to taste their own bad medicine.

- Merendino, on 05/19/2008, -6/+61I'm STILL voting for Ron Paul in the general election.
- muckemuck, on 05/19/2008, -14/+69I would not call this OVERWHELMING unless there's an audio feed from that green room. It's just some mild confirmation of what Paul supporters have been saying for ages - the GOP leaders are out to protect the neo-con agenda even if it means losing in November like they lost in 2006. They are not willing to discuss the GOP returning to what it stood for when Reagan was elected.. they're now pushing the neo-con agenda. Buh bye GOP.
- elshizzo, on 05/19/2008, -14/+59The majority of GOP voters are sheep. They were told not to vote for him, and they followed the orders as they always do.
- fancypantscz, on 05/19/2008, -2/+45Honestly, I never understood why anyone would ever vote for the Republican party until I heard Pual speak. Then I became pissed because in NY I had to have changed parties SIX MONTHS before the primary election for my vote to count for Pual WTF?! I have come to realize that politics itself has become a conspiracy. ALL the politicians lie and nobody cares and so they are off the hook of accountability and are able to represent the interests of the party instead of those of the citizenry. The sooner we bypass all our representatives and start learning how to govern ourselves directly with the internet the better.
- stonebone4, on 05/19/2008, -8/+43I'm digging this because I like this guy's style and I'm a proud Paulite, but I will say it seems suspicious that two prominent GOP members would discuss their top secret conspiracy plans to keep Ron out of the election with some guy they don't know anything about in the room, especially one that they know is an author.
Still, dugg because it's obvious there are shenanigans afoot, with or without diabolical green room plotting. - wendelgee2, on 05/19/2008, -2/+36As an Obama supporter, I'd like to say that I support the Ron Paulites and their quest to make the Republican party not evil.

- ElectricKetchup, on 05/19/2008, -11/+35RON PAUL 2008!
- blinkerbug, on 05/19/2008, -12/+35on "the media blackout" .. go look at fact instead of the crap the GOP is feeding you. http://www.upload.mn/view/2jfv0cjs9w58qd0fc815.gif Note the HUGE spike from the media after Iowa (where McCain barely beat Paul despite Paul not even being on the chart after November. If the media were as balanced as you elude then Huckabee (who earned nearly 3x the percentage of votes in Iowa as McCain) would have remained in the media after Iowa. Instead he was nearly shut out and the media instead started focusing on and building up McCain.
.. now.. you show me a chart that shows Paul getting more than .3% of the media attention from November until after Super Tuesday. .. despite his being the top GOP fundraiser in Q4 2007, despite his receiving the most funds from veterans and active duty military. - juankovo, on 05/19/2008, -0/+21There are so many people who hear that he's a Republican and instantly assume that Paul isn't possibly worth looking into. The neocons have poisoned the name of Republican.
- beersnob, on 05/19/2008, -0/+20I like Ron Paul's ideas, and I'm impressed at what the Paulites have been able to do, and the amount of buzz they've been able to generate. There's only one problem with the Ron Paul Revolution....He's the only politician in it! Some of the Paulites need to get off their asses and get elected to congress as members of the GOP. It is probably too late for 2008, but perhaps they could get organized for the 2010 mid-term elections and get Ron Paul some help in Congress. If there were a bloc of Paulites in Congress (as members of the GOP) they might be able to wield some influence, and field a more viable campaign in 2012. Now that would be real change! Pissing and moaning at the GOP convention this year is only going to marginalize Paul.
- inactive, on 05/19/2008, -5/+25"Last week I appeared on a number of television programs and ended up in “the green room” with a couple of GOP luminaries. One of the party’s most famous and powerful Senators and a former governor who came within a hair of becoming the vice president."
Names would have been nice.... - juankovo, on 05/19/2008, -2/+21Ron Paul is one of the very few in government who actually follows the laws of our government (aka the Constitution). What about that is a joke?
- inactive, on 05/19/2008, -19/+38How are you going to excuse the losses that th GOP are going to suffer in November. It is going to be the worst defeat in the last 60 years, at least. The Democrats may end up with a supermajority in the Senate that will allow them to pass any legislation that they care to.
The Paulites do control around 3 or 4 % of the voters around the country. Without those votes the Republicans are dead this year. With those votes they will lose the Presidency and some House and Senate seats, but will hold enough to keep the worst Democrat stuff at bay. But you prefer to make yourself feel smart, so keep talking onetimer. I´ll vote Libertarian this year. - juankovo, on 05/19/2008, -7/+26I'm pretty sure onetimer is earning about $1 per post for everything he writes against Ron Paul supporters. Seriously, that's all he does all day.
Oh, look, he's digging me down and replying! How cute! - inactive, on 05/19/2008, -1/+18That's where I'm originally from and when talking to my sister (who still lives there) the other day, she didn't even know it had happened. The media is doing its best to ignore these stories. Sickening.
- gabulldawg79, on 05/19/2008, -11/+28I consider myself a centrist with conservative leanings and as much as I hate to say it the GOP is going to get what's coming to them in November because they rejected their Constitutional principles they once held dear. I believe this election once again will be a referendum on GOP(neocon) corruption, cronyism, elitism, and a general lack of concern for their constituents and the American people. From the time Bush got into office until 2006 he and the neocon Congressmen treated our system of government like a fraternity house and a private country club. Now begins what I hope to be something for the American people although none of the democrats are offering anything better. The GOP won't lose in November because the democrats are better for America they will lose because Americans are tired of getting raped by neocons that call themselves patriots when in actuality they are all corrupt businessmen with global agendas for wealth and power. Ron Paul offered the GOP a solution. His supporters are energized, well funded, willing to donate, and willing to promote the message of liberty which once was a GOP platform. No more. Now the GOP will be known for the Patriot Act, Real ID Act, and the Homegrown Terrorism and Prevention Act or as I like to bundle them into the "Destroy the Constitution Fascism Acts" of the Bush Administration. As mentioned in the article if the current GOP establishment is so right, why are they scrambling to change the rules at their state conventions to keep out people who got there using the GOP's own rules. That is a direct definition of fascism. And if Ron Paul and his ideals of the Founding Fathers are so crazy, then why is his book #1 on the NYT best seller's list and not one neocon's can crack to the top 500?
- radarplane, on 05/19/2008, -2/+19I just sent my membership renewal into the Republican National Committee with a note explaining how I'd already donated to the best representative of Republican ideals---Ron Paul
- EricMiIIer, on 07/10/2009, -2/+18After this election I am going Libertarian. I invite all of you to do the same.
- dcshiderly, on 05/19/2008, -0/+16The majority of _voters_ are sheep. GOP versus Dem makes no difference.
- dinostabOMG, on 05/19/2008, -2/+16Well, good for you. Unfortunately, the sort of people who vote for what they like to call "values," however ironically, don't seem to care about any of that.
- inactive, on 05/19/2008, -4/+19The GOP bigwigs are a pack of douches, reaping what they've sowed since they let McCain get slandered right out of the 2008 campaign.
They may well have killed their party in South Carolina in 2000.

//Will go independent after this election, McCain win or no. - kemp34, on 05/19/2008, -6/+19Well, there may not have been a total media black out, but 0% coverage in the key week of the primary season says something:
http://www.journalism.org/node/9610
Also, note McCain at 37.4% of all coverage during the week.
Onetimer, how many times do I have to post this before you stop trying to say there was no media black out? 0% in the week leading up to Super Tuesday is a black out for anyone but the most rabid anti-Paulers. - juankovo, on 05/19/2008, -3/+16Newsflash. We live in a republic, not a democracy.
In any case, primaries and caucuses are party functions to choose a nominee. The parties are not government organizations, and they can make the rules as they see fit. We are not "stealing" anything. - neuron79, on 05/19/2008, -6/+18onetimer, you (and a couple others) seem to seek out every Ron Paul-related article and post negative comments. I'm curious as to why you spend so much time and effort engaging in such behavior, and I'd like to know more so I can better understand your point of view. Why is it that you dislike Ron Paul and/or Ron Paul supporters so much? I (and I'm sure many others who read your comments) would appreciate as much information as possible.
By the way, this isn't a sarcastic post... I honestly want to understand your perspective. - ZenMojo, on 05/19/2008, -8/+19It's all of the above. The Republican Party has been hijacked by fascists and the voters themselves are a bunch of fascists and the Libertarians are outnumbered -- CONDOMS ARE BAD, BRING BACK PRAYER IN SCHOOLS, BUILD BIGGER PRISONS, POT IS THE DEVIL, BURN THE WITCH. Those of us who hate the very idea of fascists taking over our country are voting Green or Democratic (or BOTH). As long as the Libertarians keep holding their noses and voting for the WORST of all choices just because they won't tax them, the Libertarians will get what they deserve and the rest of us will have to fight this war without them.
Stop pretending like conservative Republicans are capable of a revolution. If they were, they wouldn't be Republicans, now would they? They would find the very nature of their party these last 40 ***** years unconscionable. Now, either many of these conservative Republicans are patriots in name only or they're cowards or they're simply stupid. But this is the very corruptive nature of "Party," its ability to enthrall through labels, to spook people with "Liberal" or "Communist."
P.S. -- while the United States was doing its damnedest to fight the commies from North Korea and protect South Korea in 1950, someone should have pointed out that South Korea was a fascist dictatorship responsible for the murder of tens of thousands of its citizens. But it's cool, they got better in 1992.
Get rid of ***** labels and start approaching the world stage from a smarter perspective. And the first step, Libertarians, is siding with the Liberals to protect your REAL civil rights even if you have to hold your nose and foster a cohesive society in the process. - Jlaugh, on 05/19/2008, -1/+12Hell yeah, the Neocons and the Democrats need to go.
- BaseballGuyCAA, on 05/19/2008, -8/+19Don't listen to this guy. Judging by his icon, he's just scared ***** that a Constitutionally-run government would rightly shut down the copious funding to Israel.
- aliengoods, on 05/19/2008, -1/+12No they wouldn't, as members have taken and are taking matching campaign funds. When you take public funds you can't discriminate.
- JohnGalt72, on 05/19/2008, -0/+11The pureness, righteousness and clarity of Ron Paul's message is expressed just as much in how vehement his opposition is, as it is in the devotion of his supporters.
This guy was an unknown Congressman a year ago. Now look at him. Agree with him or not, he's definately something special...you'll be hearing his message for many years to come.
Thank You Ron Paul. - MaximusD, on 05/19/2008, -2/+12I don't support Ron Paul, but I support RP supporters and hope they raise some hell and try to bring about some reform to the GOP. I'm a Kucinich man myself, so I can also sympathize with supporting a candidate that is intentionally disenfranchised in the party and MSM. But, then again, I'm a liberal who thinks that many of RP's policy ideas are flat out crazy. But at least he's not corrupt...
- swrostmore, on 05/19/2008, -1/+11The idea of another Bush ever running for office makes me seriously lol.
- Ne007, on 05/19/2008, -3/+13Too bad the "mainstream" "Republicans" do not stand for their parties principles.
I think "mainstream Republicans" should form their own party called the "Big Ass Government SUPER SPENDERS" and have a Big Fat Lard-Ass of a closeted Gay Male be their mascot. - Ne007, on 05/19/2008, -0/+9You don't get it. Until middle America gives up their televisions and their newspapers there will never be a hope for a 3rd party candidate.
That day is coming, maybe next Presidential election or the one after that....but that day is NOT today. - STPZ, on 05/19/2008, -0/+9Split the party, on real lines of politics and not greed/extortion etc.
So a legitimate party exists and backs a worth while candidate - Pillage, on 05/19/2008, -1/+9"It is going to be the worst defeat in the last 60 years, at least"
I'll take that bet. - lewhich, on 05/19/2008, -0/+8Its not even 2009 and you are already talking of Jeb Bush ... you already think he will be the best candidate ... you want to crown him .. like hillbilly crowned herself in 04 for 08
