I'm still in awe over that one. Wow... just... wow. - kolinkoolface2, on 12/31/2008, -5/+14Ron Paul started a movement on the internet, raised 6 million dollars in one day and had little to no face time at all in the media...?
Yea digg it down but, come one, that was quit the technological accomplishment.... 6 million in one day over the internet. - amprather, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7Smart list by a group of smart Republicans (yes, there are a few out there). This applies to all politics. The Democrats are ahead of the overall curve on a lot of this, maybe this group of Republicans that see the power of smart use of technology will be able to close the gap.
Or the GOP will remain the Grand OLD Party. - ansatsu29, on 12/31/2008, -0/+6That is how powerful the web has become over the recent years. And yes, the web can definitely change the world we live and how we will interact with one another.
- itop10, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5A nice topic and highly informative material.
- bamapachyderm, on 12/31/2008, -9/+14#11: Anything with "gop" in the url (or any post that has anything even mildly complimentary about anyone right of center) is immediately buried (without any actual READING done, of course) at Digg, along with any supportive comments.
Oh wait, that's not really newsworthy for 2008 - that's standard Digg *****. (rolls eyes - again) - ConBelle, on 12/30/2008, -2/+7Fantastic list and spot on. Lots of lessons there.
- jencitn, on 12/31/2008, -1/+6Love #2 = This is the era of personal politics.
Hello politics, nice to meet you, glad you could finally join US. - eminn3m, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4"Think before voting... and vote Mccain 08' Wait did you want me to think or did you want me to vote for Mccain?
- danwallace, on 12/31/2008, -3/+7That McCain ad with all the hillbillies who barely know how to use webcams made me laugh.
- LastVisibleDog, on 12/31/2008, -3/+4Conservatives dominated the early internet (late 90's early 00's) and the Dems played catch-up in the Bush years (the left became motivated and the right became demotivated). Understand the history - try to avoid the digg cliche nonsense.
- aviener, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1You can now follow what the politicians and pundits are saying in real-time at http://www.politicaltwits.com
- rbmshow, on 12/30/2008, -3/+4amazing for sure!
- threegroup, on 12/31/2008, -2/+3It is true that this is a *huge* feat, but -- this was a 2007 story, not a 2008 story!
- LastVisibleDog, on 12/31/2008, -3/+3Yeah - and thank GOD massive amounts of money never corrupts politicians...
- monopolymen, on 01/01/2009, -3/+1Well given the past 8 years I think it's understandable, don't you?
Anyway the GOP is not a significant player in American politics anymore. It hasn't been for the last 8 years. What, you thought Bush was a Republican? 3 trillion dollars of free money for private banking interests? Bwaaahahahahahaaa.. - monopolymen, on 01/01/2009, -3/+1"Top Ten".
PLEASE.
NO MORE.
- The internet
P.S. - Take digg back. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/diggalution/?e - momomorrell, on 12/31/2008, -6/+2did bamapachyderm just roll his/her eyes! HOW CUTE!!!!!
