- cg4et, on 10/12/2008, -16/+818The irony is that in trying to insult Obama, he is only debasing himself and, perhaps, hurting his own candidate.
- blakeisblake, on 10/12/2008, -7/+295The thing that I find very disturbing is that all the people in line with him appear to be ok with his blatant display of racism. In fact, a couple of them are laughing with him. What does this say about the type of people who support Palin/McCain?
Absolutely disgusting!!! - jackelsmack, on 10/12/2008, -12/+240"mean-spirited"? You're a moron. This isn't "mean-spirited", it's ***** racist.
But go ahead and defend the racist. Please, tell us more about how racism is OK because George Bush looks like a monkey. Illuminate us! - bitsculptor, on 10/12/2008, -17/+223His wild political ads are meant to stoke the hatred of racists like this maniac.
This guy is a supporter of McCain... hell, I bet he gets mail (probably not email in the trailer) from the campaign. He may even contribute. Would that make him an "associate" of McCain's? Should we use McCain's own tactics and view McCain as a crazy old racist? - u2wedge, on 10/13/2008, -7/+179well the good news is he donated $5 to the Obama campaign to get that bumpersticker.
- MediaWeasel, on 10/12/2008, -5/+164Odd isn't it. He's fine about waving his stupidity around in front of the building but not inside, where he ditched the Obama label and then ditched the monkey. I guess the cameraman outside was a Republican amateur videomaker, but who made him feel uncomfortable inside the building?
- netneutrality, on 10/12/2008, -4/+151Ha. Cute monkey. Cheer up everyone, revenge day is scheduled for November 4.
- NWTerriD, on 10/12/2008, -1/+117Outside, when he was bragging, it was a private camera. Inside, he realized the national press was watching. Suddenly he's not bragging any more.
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -23/+135Like John McCain and his "soulmate" this man has no vision!
He would rather turn back the pages of history to a time of racism and violence!
We're Better Then That!
We Will Not Go Down That Path Ever Again!
Obama/Biden 08!
Unity for America! - stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -6/+114This guy got his fifteen minutes of fame and then some, probably not how he expected. This will likely haunt him for a very long time.
- Panzwhore, on 10/12/2008, -2/+105True. Dugg for a sensible comment.
- futrsenator, on 10/13/2008, -3/+103the sad thing is...he thinks he is clever.
- JenniferInMO, on 10/13/2008, -2/+92@LoneRanger85:
Racism is deplorable regardless who is involved. The point here is what is happening now. We have a black candidate for President and a white candidate who is stirring up racial hatred and insinuating things likely to poke at people's racial fears. Pulling up examples where someone else did it at another time does nothing to mitigate this wrong-headed, clearly racist campaign. - dinot, on 10/13/2008, -3/+73Lady? You didn't even watch the video, did you?
Moron. - RudeTurnip, on 10/13/2008, -3/+68I have a friend who was going to vote for McCain, but is switching to Obama because he doesn't want to be affiliated with white trash like the guy in this video.
- wickensworth, on 10/13/2008, -2/+67You completely misspelled "I'm an idiot"
- orion846, on 10/13/2008, -0/+64that's what happens when your campaign specifically targets the votes of the un-educated
- kelsosmythe, on 10/12/2008, -28/+91Dear sir,
Please do us all a favor and go die in a ditch.
Thanks. - sugarazor, on 10/13/2008, -0/+60Yes he has a right to free speech, and everyone else has the same right to call him a disgusting racist.
- 5celery, on 10/12/2008, -3/+62I think it will be enough for him that his grandchildren will know who he is - and if not the grandchildren, his great grandkids - however long it takes to suck the poison out of that family.
- stainedworld, on 10/13/2008, -4/+59Keep it up racists. All this sort of thing does is makes McCain look bad.
- gabeshedd, on 10/13/2008, -2/+56Unless Obama ***** a baby between now and November we've got our next President.
I've never been so passionately confident in a political figure. While I realize he isn't the messiah, I genuinely feel like he will do some good. I'm also glad I'm young enough that I'll probably see all of these insanely conservative cousin-***** die off.
People like this are the reason I moved from SC to CA. - 5celery, on 10/12/2008, -2/+55ok with it? - they probably wished they had thought of it themselves
- pistonhonda, on 10/12/2008, -16/+68Who cares?
He's a dumbass, but he has a right to free speech. Any intelligent person will notice that he's a dumbass and will not listen to him. - Whackly, on 10/13/2008, -0/+51Big camera with CBS News on the side made him rethink the strength of his convictions. What is it about racism that allows people to remain racist even when they know enough to be ashamed of it?
- pyrobaby, on 10/12/2008, -6/+51Anyone else noticed that there are very few hot racists? They're all ugly on the inside, ugly on the outside. Only exception I can think of is those neo-nazi Olsen twin wannabe chicks...
- birdly, on 10/12/2008, -5/+50Woo hoo! Curious George is for Obama! That'll help deliver the man in the yellow hat vote.
The guy waving George around is so stupid that I can't even get angry about it. Strange that people like that still exist. I'll bet he misses George Wallace. - sugarazor, on 10/13/2008, -1/+46Calling him a racist is free speech too, smart guy.
- Dimbleby, on 10/13/2008, -1/+44My friend, you are out of touch with reality. What you dont understand, my friend, is that your statement doesn't making any sense.
Go soak your head some more in Republican koolaid. - pistonhonda, on 10/12/2008, -4/+45It doesn't matter what "liberals" have done in the past, that is an ad hominem interjection and is beside the point. No matter what else has been done, most people will agree that slapping an Obama sticker on a monkey and parading it around in public is morally unacceptable.
That being said, as a human and citizen of the United States of America this man has the right to free-speech as long as he is not placing others in direct harm, which he is not. Therefore, this man is exercising his natural right to free-speech, albeit in a morally reprehensible manner. - Cory357, on 10/13/2008, -0/+38It's been my experience that "1930's" type racists in this day in age are cowards who only speak up when they are around like company...or on the internet.
- fishbeef33, on 10/12/2008, -8/+45Please, do at least a little bit of research on the history of racism in America before you make a stupid comparison like this.
- joand315, on 10/12/2008, -1/+36That reminds me of a story I heard about Golda Meir. When confronted by the statistics that violence against women in Israel was rising, her advisers suggested a curfew to keep women indoors.
She answered, the women weren't causing the problem, the curfew should be for the men.
In the same way, Obama is not causing racists to act out. Republicans are seeing their chickens come home to roost. - fishbeef33, on 10/13/2008, -3/+36Any intelligent person? That leaves out everyone in line with him.
- bitsculptor, on 10/12/2008, -4/+37Him being a republican had nothing to do with my assumption that he lives in a trailer. I made that assumption based him taking childish, racist actions in a public place. I'm guessing someone as stupid as this guy isn't living large.
That being said, I reserve the right to make fun of racists. - luap119, on 10/13/2008, -11/+44No wonder no one likes America. =[
- samard2002, on 10/13/2008, -2/+35It's racist sure, but if this is the "great racist moment" of the presidential election with our first black candidate, I have to say that I am overall very happy with America. A single jackass in some town clearly does not represent the average voter -- no, not even the average McCain supporter.
I think we've all been waiting this entire election for the race bomb to drop. If this is that bomb, it's a bit of a dud -- and we are all the better for it. Maybe we really have reached the point where race just does not matter. Maybe next election we won't even hear how we don't think "other people" will vote for a black candidate.
So my message to the man in the video is: blaze on, you backwards over-proud *****. You are one of the last shining examples of a dying philosophy. You rock that monkey, you ***** cultural dinosaur. - birdly, on 10/13/2008, -2/+34Here's a tip for you: When you want to make a political point, read the article or watch the video first. That way, readers will be less likely to realize you're full of ***** right away.
- Rubuntu, on 10/12/2008, -13/+44The fact is he represents the absolute core of the GOP, white Christian Republican racists and the ulimate in hypocracy. Did you see the folks in line with him objecting. Birds of a feather flock together.... They all the same *****.....
- bananasluggy, on 10/12/2008, -6/+36I find it funny that the monkey has Curious George written on his shirt. That more represents our current president... (except he's not that curious about the things that matters.)
We've had a monkey in office for a while who could barely speak and grinned a lot. It'll be nice to have a human being in there again... (even nicer... an Adult human! OMG!) - IphtashuFitz, on 10/13/2008, -1/+30Um. Nobody said he didn't.
- FreddieD, on 10/13/2008, -0/+28Smile, grandpa! The whole nation now knows you're a racist!
- HuntGather, on 10/13/2008, -0/+27Radical muslim/atheist? Are you really that dumb? I mean, your whole comment is stupid, but that sticks out. Good job.
- oldgraygeek, on 10/12/2008, -43/+70Let's find out this guy's name...
...where he works...
...and get him fired! - holmzz, on 10/13/2008, -2/+29Wow. If you think it's more probable that this guy is pro Obama rather than pro McCain you are
very ignorant. Apply Occam's razor and go through your hypothesis again. - u2wedge, on 10/13/2008, -2/+27You know the reason, don't pretend you don't.
- samirms, on 10/13/2008, -5/+30This isn't about Democrats and Republicans. Maybe what you say did happen in the Past. It's not okay. Instead of defending this racist ***** that's going on in your party. Why don't you man up and take a stand against it. Why on earth would you defend this? It doesn't disgust you how these people are acting? Right now, ignorance and bigotry is becoming the reputation of the Republican party, and the comments you've made do nothing but spread these conceptions.
- Moosington, on 10/13/2008, -1/+26Really? Are you unfamiliar with racist connotations?
- TheRedNewt, on 10/13/2008, -1/+25There is a history associated with referring to a black man as a "monkey," just like using the term "boy."
Also, the fact that he refers to Obama as "little Hussein" leaves little to the imagination concerning his intention. - heystoopid, on 10/12/2008, -6/+30But then again continuing on from where the "dude" whatever video left off in this video link :
