The Importance of Electing Dems - 1 Vote Clears Ethics Bill

weblogs.baltimoresun.com — It didn't take long for Bill Foster to make an impact in Congress. He was sworn into his seat on Tuesday afternoon. By evening, he was casting what was arguably the deciding vote on a white-hot ethics bill.

Not only is it uplifting to see a genuine progressive elected to congress in Hastert's old seat, but his very first vote helps Pelosi's ethics reform bill reach the floor, overcoming attempts by Democrats and republicans alike to sink the bill -- PA D-Rep. John Murtha deserves special scorn for his efforts to sink this completely fair, commonsense, and mostly toothless legislation.

    Bill Foster, business man and Fermi lab scientist, was Creative Commons advocate Larry Lessig's model for his own Congressional exploratory committee. He's a congressman worth keeping an eye on; he's really on our side.
