Actually, the physical structure of the Grand Canyon suggests long-term formation, rather than a relatively short timeframe. http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CH/CH581.html
The claim that a global flood could have rapidly carved the Grand Canyon is made only by those who are either woefully misinformed or those who are lying. - ManilaRyce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Beliefs are specific to each individual, and should not be taught as facts. The problem occurs when you try to give a certain religious belief equal standing with scientific fact. It is a fact that the Grand Canyon was formed over millions of years. Whether or not God had anything to do with that is a belief. See the difference? I can believe that the moon is made of cheese, but selling a book about that theory in an astronomy exhibit is irresponsible.
Also, the story is political news because the source of this misinformation are Bush administration appointees. Please read the article before commenting. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3And why does this bother you? Why do you give it even a second's thought? Can't you just believe what you want to believe and let others embrace their beliefs? Can't we all just get along? And how is this political news?
