- Gemfinder, on 05/31/2008, -1/+8Lately I've been pondering what exactly the FL and MI Democratic Party heads were thinking when they jumped the gun and held their primaries first. They knew that the DNC knew, and the DNC told them the consequences. But they went ahead and held them anyway, like little kids deliberately doing what you tell them not to do.
What were they thinking? Was this what they intended in the first place? Were they trying for an imbroglio like this?
More argument for a National Primary. - trotskyist, on 05/31/2008, -1/+4lol

- Shambla, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2The problem is that it wasn't FL and MI Democratic Party heads that moved the date up. The Florida state legislature passed House Bill 537 which moved the date up. I think it's kind of odd that a state congress comprised of mostly Republicans decided when the Democratic party's date would be and essentially brought on this whole mess.
- Gemfinder, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1Florida State legislature?
*Ping*
Ahhhh. I did not know that. That explains a thing or three.
And the governor signed it. Can they do that legally? Sounds like election-tampering to me. Might this be an impeachable offense? - bhod, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1The only thing I need to know is when and where to vote for Obama. I don't care what he says or does until then, he's waaaay better than McBush.
Obama 08! - inactive, on 05/31/2008, -1/+1Except for the fact Hilton is not 35.
- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -1/+1You act like the Democratic (or Republican) have some legal or constitutional requirement that dictates how they must choose their candidate. They don't. If Dean wants to pick someone other than Hillary or Obama to be their candidate for the general, guess what, he can. He can ignore every voter and pick Paris Hilton.
