- MonTheBuds, on 11/08/2008, -14/+850Whoa. Seeing Texas as a blue state is pretty weird.
- uncajoe, on 11/08/2008, -61/+729The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!
- enki25, on 11/09/2008, -21/+612This is great. My understanding is that all the old people are in the process of dying.
- MiserableTruth, on 11/08/2008, -21/+370Cool map.
Not to be a dissenter, but a lot of people traditionally change from democrat to republican when they get older. However, unless something revolutionary happens within the republican party (I do NOT mean Palin) I don't really see that happening for this generation.
Oh, and just because we elected him doesn't mean we should give him a free pass: http://change.gov/page/s/yourvision
Tell Obama, (hopefully at least someone in is his adminstration lol, you never know with these things but the .gov gives me a little hope) where you would like to see the county go under his administration. - rahamm, on 11/09/2008, -58/+350Only the suckiest states in the Union are red.
YOU HEAR ME IDAHO take your ***** potatos and go home! - Alheithinn, on 11/08/2008, -41/+312Very interesting. It looks like I'm a rarity being 51 and having voted for Obama. I'm glad to see that younger people have their heads on straight.
- se1zure, on 11/09/2008, -4/+229If Just black people voted:

- mconnery, on 11/09/2008, -2/+113Hey, I'm the guy who put this together. There are more maps on the youth vote here: http://futuremajority.com/node/3969
- inactive, on 11/09/2008, -54/+165Read: The 2008 electoral map if only College hippies voted.
- golemeter, on 11/09/2008, -1/+83Doesn't that line refer to the explosion of a nuclear bomb?
- AutoTom, on 11/09/2008, -5/+86this is the most brilliant comment i've seen all week.
thank you, sir. - JenniferInMO, on 11/09/2008, -11/+87I am boycotting Utah for a while. I am pretty ticked at the Mormon influx and money sent to CA to defeat Prop 8. As a country, we cannot let that happen in another state. We can no longer allow bigotry to be codified. If, when CA puts a referendum on the ballot to repeal the gay marriage ban CA will need our help.
- hardcrocodile, on 11/09/2008, -1/+74Did you just link to a wikipedia article about an entire year?...
- JenniferInMO, on 11/09/2008, -6/+78I live in OK. Not one county was blue. The only state in the Union where every county has a majority of religious weirdos.
- algaeturd, on 11/09/2008, -9/+79In all fairness, every educated person in WV with any sense moves away after they graduate. So all that's left is the people who think education is a waste of time and thinks that democrats are going to come and knock on the door and confiscate their gun.
I'm sure the same can be said for some of the other states; the educated people move away to find decent jobs and what's left is a scary mix of, well, the leftovers who are fine working at Wal Mart for minimum wage. - WarnerK, on 11/09/2008, -0/+68"Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die."
- Sogladtobehere, on 11/09/2008, -10/+78A 50/50 vote for your age group is hardly a rarity. Without this age group Obama's victory wouldn't have happened. The only group that Obama lost was with seniors (65+) who are still vulnerable to the politics of fear used by McCain and the right.
- aftern9ne, on 11/09/2008, -23/+91My state (GA) is ***** retarded.
- Juaquin, on 11/09/2008, -6/+61Personally, I wouldn't be proud of voting the way some group of people tell me to every four years. Decide for yourself. I think the whole party system is completely unnecessary and tends to hurt politics nowadays.
- JenniferInMO, on 11/09/2008, -10/+6544 here and I voted for Obama in a red state, my husb. is 52 and he voted for Obama. We also canvassed and called. We aren't dead yet!
- djbon2112, on 11/09/2008, -0/+54A+++++ FACEPALM. WOULD USE AGAIN!
- AresDiggs, on 11/09/2008, -4/+55Why because you don't like it that people have different beliefs then you?
- booksnmore4you, on 11/08/2008, -21/+72You can't make this extrapolation. People change over time, including going from left to right, and vice-versa.
- whataboutdave, on 11/09/2008, -9/+60Interesting map, but it doesn't necessarily indicate anything about the future of the US political scene.
Young people often lean heavily to the left, but those same people shift right when they have accumulated assets and built a family.
Don't shoot the messenger. - tmyprod, on 11/09/2008, -3/+50And this exceeds my John Mayer-threshold for the week.
- jsdratm, on 11/09/2008, -9/+55If Obama does a good job, the Democratic Party will have a bright future
- droford, on 11/09/2008, -1/+44Now wheres the one where it shows only the votes of old people?
- barryiggins, on 11/09/2008, -8/+51I'm no conservative, but I dugg you up. This map is ludicrous.
- SayeSayno, on 11/09/2008, -1/+43Aren't we all?
- riverrunner, on 11/09/2008, -7/+49Crap I kinda like Idaho.
- inactive, on 11/09/2008, -34/+75Wait till you have kids, a mortgage, and really start to pay taxes.
- diggstown, on 11/09/2008, -3/+44Why did you take on a mortgage that you have to struggle to pay?
- inactive, on 11/09/2008, -1/+41So is seeing my home state of South Carolina.
- S201, on 11/09/2008, -2/+41Exactly.
- VinnieDaMac, on 11/09/2008, -3/+41If by blue, you mean red, then sure.
- annalyzationn, on 11/09/2008, -9/+46Check, check, check and my parents still voted Obama.
- virtualball, on 11/09/2008, -1/+36I just want to say, on CNN, they said that if no one under 30 voted, only two states would've been flipped and Barack still would've won.
- connorwilson, on 11/09/2008, -2/+36Where's "voted for Obama"?
- digglet08, on 11/09/2008, -0/+33Best use of facepalm.
- stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -13/+46Been voting Dem for thirty-five years. I'm not going anywhere... My 94 year old Dad has voted Dem all his life, too.
- rahamm, on 11/09/2008, -5/+36Why did you right 2-4% you can look at the exact numbers. It was 6%. States are winner take all and you are going to win a whole lot of states with 6%.
- versualize, on 11/09/2008, -2/+31I'd prefer some green.
- sulthernao, on 11/09/2008, -0/+29Yeah, expect to see Texas become a battleground state in 4-8 years thanks to changing demographics (younger, more Hispanic).
- ModernGeek, on 11/09/2008, -2/+31Mmmm, female. You single?
- jerrasis, on 11/09/2008, -1/+29***** mormons......
- alpharaptor, on 11/08/2008, -2/+30that's after the cleanup of this mess we currently have to deal with, if we make it.
