- SheilaNoya, on 10/05/2008, -17/+175If Sarah Palin wants to throw punches, then I hope she can take them, as well.
It's time to stop her lies about Obama by telling the TRUTH about her.
- Extremist Pentecostal religious beliefs, member of a Dominionist cult, thinks she's a "God Warrior", speaks in tongues, her church claims they can raise people from the dead, they claim that God has chosen "them" to be saved during Armageddon, they believe in witchcraft and satanic powers.
- Her husband belongs to a radical secessionist movement. Palin has given speeches to them approving of their actions.
- Like Cheney, Palin refuses to abide by the rule of law and ignores court ordered subpoenas. So does her husband.
- She's been caught in numerous lies, but still repeats them endlessly.
- The ideology and policies she supports are identical to George W. Bush. She's no maverick, she's a fraud.
- She's vindictive and manipulative. Like Bush, she only surrounds herself with people who don't dare disagree with her on anything.
Sarah Palin needs to be subjected to a little "truthiness" now. Expose her lies and throw them back in her "cute" little face. - paintgrl, on 10/05/2008, -9/+82FTA: I do have a concern Governor. A big one. You have never distanced yourself from a radical secessionist movement aimed at the breaking up of the Federal Union. You, Governor, have never stated a single time that the AIP is not only wrong-headed, but outright dangerous. Instead, you have videotaped welcoming comments for their annual conventions. Instead, you have a "close association" with a known former member of a radical, right-wing, well-armed and well-funded political party whose founder damned the United States as virulently as Reverend Wright did. While Reverend Wright enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame, and was rightly slammed for his vitriol by patriotic writers on both Left and Right, the AIP happily continued along its way, spewing anti-Americanism more in line with something Fidel Castro would say on a May Day celebration in Havana.
And you stood there Governor, like a caribou caught in the headlights. And you still stand there, but now with the audacity to stand at the top of your glass castle throwing rocks at other people. There is a big, big difference between a limited association with someone who had committed a crime 40 years before, and being married to a man who supports the destruction of the United States.
Ditto - kmom5, on 10/05/2008, -8/+57FTA:
You, Governor, should know better. As I and many journalists have noted, you have strong ties to the Alaska Independence Party (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-mackey/the-re ... While it was finally revealed that you technically were not a card-carrying member of the AIP, it was discovered that the First Dude, between his life of high adventure in helping you rule your northern fiefdom, his competitive snowmobiling and fishing, was a member of the organization for many years. - Olon97, on 10/05/2008, -4/+51Not being a member, yet attending the meetings, is not too comforting when you're talking about an organization with a stated mission to "infiltrate" the major parties. Mission accomplished it seems.
- jepaco, on 10/05/2008, -5/+36If the McCain campaign wants to play the "guilt by association" game, that's one Obama supporters can win too.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -18/+49Sarah Palin belongs in Gitmo, not the White House.
- ellamcc, on 10/05/2008, -3/+30Just to toss out a few more: Charles Keating (One of The Keating Five) -- G. Gordon Liddy -- John Singlaub (Iran contra scandal) sat w/ McCain on the board of an ultra conservative, right-wing group! In 1981 when McCain was on the board, the Anti-Defamation League, said this organization was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League – the parent organization – which ADL said “has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.” Then there are those other, possibly racist, things: John McCain's vote AGAINST MLK Jr Day and his admission that "ambition made [him]" support the Confederate Flag! It goes on -- do you really want to go here, Sarah & John?
- amunaor, on 10/05/2008, -7/+34Didn’t CNN Larry King interview, murderer Charles Manson one time? Ya know….Oh jeeeeez! I betchya Larry had ulterior motives over there. Perhaps Larry is really not who we think he his. Oh jeez!
Associating Obama with the activities of Ayers, would be like associating McCain with the Kent State massacre, where National Guardsmen gunned down four students during a Vietnam war protest rally. Should McCain’s involvement and support for that ‘other’ grossly misguided war, be misconstrued as an association that led to the presence of armed National Guardsmen killing the 4 students? If we are to apply the gymnastics of the McCain Psyche-Shredders, perhaps McCain should be held accountable for this event.
Obama was 8 years old at the time of the Ayers incident, not to mention that all charges against Ayers were dropped. These manufactured allegations involving Barack are only an indication that Camp McCain has run out of ammo and wishes to go down in a heap of their own excrement.
The absurdity of the above associations is just that, absurd!
Why doesn't McCain himself step up to the plate and elucidate these allegations instead of sending his brain-dead co-pilot out, while he chuckles backstage like Beeves, or is it Butt-head?
What should be of greater concern is the reality of McCain’s association to the mass-murderer GW Bush - Cheney, whose ideological policies of greed and lust for power have left millions dead and millions more living as refugees in tent cities in the wake of the mad emperor and oil vampire.
Let’s not be distracted by the deception of the McCain Psyche-Shredding Machine.
When is a Surge not a Surge? When an Invasion - Occupation in NOT a War!
Peace, Best Wishes and Hope - fishbeef33, on 10/05/2008, -3/+28I know that Obama wants to take the high road in this election and not get into a smearing competition, but if McCain mentions any of these "guilt by association" accusations during Tuesday night's debate, Obama has the right to go right into Keating 5, Palin's husband, and everything else that we already have on McCain/Palin but the official campaign doesn't want to flaunt. There are times when fighting fire with fire is not only necessary but warranted.
- medfreak, on 10/05/2008, -3/+28"I like to be here tonight answering these tough questions without the filter of the mainstream 'gotcha' media with their followup questions, fact checking or their incessant need to figure out what your words mean or why you put them in that order.."
- Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. - cheesegypsy, on 10/05/2008, -5/+26Foolish amateur mistake getting personally involved in character assassination. Why didn't she simply let the commercials run and the chatter to float in the ether. Let people forward emails about Obama being a muslim and the antichrist. She thinks she's still in Alaska.
- Ajajadude, on 10/06/2008, -1/+19Remember what happened the last time people tried to secede from the U.S.? Yeah...the feds don't like that too much. Ironically, if this were a Democratic nominee, her ties to a group like this would have been THE talk of the race by her opponents.
I never understood why the "morally superior" party can get away with everything while the Democrats can't even get away without washing their hands after wiping their noes. - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -4/+21John McCain shouldn't even think about smearing Obama in any sort of way!
McCain has so much Trash to shoulder I'm surprised he can walk with the burden of it!
It will not be lost on voters, who are well accustomed to respecting and acknowledging the worth and qualification of individuals they live and work with in their increasingly diverse communities, that John McCain does not view Barack Obama as his equal. Those familiar with McCain's record as a legislator will take notice of his stubborn refusal to acknowledge, even, the accomplishments and worth of one of the greatest black Americans of our time in his repeated rejection of the recognition of Martin Luther's birthday as a national or state holiday.

Obama/Biden 08!
Enough! - algaeturd, on 10/06/2008, -1/+17That might be a BIT much...the one thing she's guilty of for sure is being a lying, hypocrite. If we sent all lying, hypocritical republicans to Gitmo, we'd have to take over Cuba just to have the space to house them all.
- lamiaconfitor, on 10/06/2008, -1/+13No one claimed she was a member, but if she is doing endorsements for them, one can easily suspect that she sympathies with the cause and does not join in order to preserve political/professional cred.

Peace, Best Wishes and Hope - tcbishop12, on 10/06/2008, -2/+13This is 21st century McCarthyism, and Palin is playing with fire that should torch her badly. Anyone who uses this insidious kind of guilt by association will soon becomes a victim of it herself.
- nernie, on 10/06/2008, -3/+14Is this the person we want representing our country on the world stage? If not, we'd better do something about it. It's all up to us now, but we need to make our voices heard. Please everybody, let the world see that the will of the people is reflected in our leadership. It's easy to do and it all starts with voting http://make.ourpledgetovote.com/
- algaeturd, on 10/06/2008, -7/+17This woman is evil, hypocritical, lying and suspect at best.
No WONDER they chose her as veep selection. She represents every single value the republican party stands for. - mebble, on 10/06/2008, -2/+12Given all the noise about who was or wasn't wearing flag pins, I should point out that Sarah Palin ostentatiously wears a Flag of Alaska pin and continues to do so. It's rather surprising that no one has noticed this tiny but telling detail. During the debate she added an American flag, but usually it's just the Flag of Alaska. To me that indicates that she's hedging her bets but also that she's really about one thing, looking out for her own best interests.
- lola29, on 10/06/2008, -3/+13This hypocrisy, especially when you've been at this "what like 5 weeks?" is unbelievable. YOU, Ms. Palin, of ALL people should be the LAST to cast stones. Clean up your own backyard, there is A LOT of work to be done. Start with your diction before you go blabbering your mouth all over the place. Those of us within earshot would sincerely appreciate it.
By the way [t3rmv3locityt3rmv3locity] you're correct, Palin was not a member. Her husband was and by HER OWN STANDARD that would be guilt by association. Read the article it states as much. - savagesteve13, on 10/06/2008, -2/+12Palin attended an AIP meeting and was a guest of honor and did an introductory welcome for new members of the alaska secessionist party.
if obama had done anything near that, he would be crucified in the press. - windphoenix, on 10/06/2008, -3/+13Palin shows exactly why a whole lot of people bash her. It's not her gender. It's the gutter politics she so likes to be involved. McCain may win this election. I don't know. But I feel sorry for these people. McCain is not a hero. This is not how a hero behaves. This is how a desperate old man behaves who wants to be part of history books no matter how low he gets.
- sulthernao, on 10/06/2008, -1/+10She's lied about Obama and "connection to terrorists": http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/04/palin.obama ...
She's repeatedly lied about Obama tax policy. - idontlikeyou2, on 10/06/2008, -3/+12She's pathetic, the worst thing about her is that she has no skills or knowledge of any value that she can bring to the VP office, shes nothing more than a puppet with the Neocon's hand up her ass.
- savagesteve13, on 10/06/2008, -1/+10Fox News! Might as well get information on jews from Al Jazeera too while we are at it.
- HonestAbe, on 10/06/2008, -2/+11Her husband was a member, and she participated in conventions. Can't get more un-American than wanting to secede from America.
- t3rmv3locity, on 10/06/2008, -9/+17I'm gonna get buried for this but I might as clear it up. Quoted from factcheck.org:
"[Palin] was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982."

(Vice Chairman of AIP Dexter Clark's mentions of Palin begin at about 6:00 in the 9:14 minute-long video. Contained in that last 3.5 minutes is some very scary stuff...) - magus_melchior, on 10/06/2008, -2/+10So she's going to throw some mud on the opposition candidate and think that her party's infamous double-standard will stick with the media?
Not if the 'net can help that. - charm803, on 10/06/2008, -3/+11Obama:
It's time. It's time you focus on the Keating 5. It's time you throw some punches.
I understand that you want to run a classy campaign without attacking your candidate, but goodness gracious, do it! - toptopics, on 10/06/2008, -1/+9hannity is a SISSY BOY
- trafficlight, on 10/06/2008, -4/+11Seriously, what was the McCain campaign thinking?
- SnaggyMcGee, on 10/06/2008, -4/+11Sarah Palin's ignorant answers to reasonable questions indicate a contempt for civic debate. She said it herself: "I may not answer these questions the way you want or the moderator wants, but I'm going to speak directly to the American people." In the absence of light, darkness prevails. Palin's evasive knee-jerk non-answer rhetoric ***** is only effective on people who, like her, don't know anything about public policy and don't care to.

There’s a joke, she’s a pretty good looking gal, there’s a joke goes around we’re the coldest state with the hottest governor. (laughter) And there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as a mayor of a small town — that was a non-partisan job. But to get along and go along — she eventually joined the Republican Party, where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics, and well, I won’t go into that. She also had about an 80% approval rating, and is pretty well sympathetic to her former membership.“
