Ugh. They are taking an extended camping trip across a reasonably safe first world country. It is great that they are taking a stand for their beliefs, but if this is what is passing for courage these days we really are getting soft as a country. - Digitalfilm43, on 10/10/2007, -19/+66"Hippies...They're everywhere! They want to change the world, but all they do is smoke pot and smell bad!"
-Eric Cartman - rtcrump, on 10/10/2007, -4/+32These are the stories that annoy me when i find them on digg. They annoy me because these are the stories you should hear about on the TV news. No matter what anyones view is on how the war should be handled two people doing this shows the commitment for change to be heard. But the media is too busy pimping their goods and we will be informed of Nicole Richie's jail sentence and Britney's $2500 dog turd mishap. Role models indeed.
- afdager, on 10/10/2007, -7/+32Two birds with one stone: obesity AND the war
- nuclearpenguins, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24Or my lilly white ass in Compton.
- kinglear, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21Yeah sure, petition their representatives. Representatives that arent going to do ***** about anything unless the petition includes a few hundred thousand dollars.
- minox, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Lame. At least Forrest Gump ran across the country.
- tidu, on 10/10/2007, -4/+15Think Forrest Gump
- tidu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Yeah sure, join the armed forces. Where they must obey orders, unless they spend years moving up in the ranks to a position where they can make their own decisions.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Yeah... I think there are more places where a white guy will get beat up or worse than there are places where it would happen to a black guy.
- fantasmacanino, on 10/10/2007, -9/+19It's a way to show opposition to the government, to show that there's people that actually care and are not happy with the way things are. Are you implying that the only way to change society is through violence?
And JamesSpaza, go ***** yourself you fascist piece of *****. - lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15... right after the OC. Actually, tonight's not good, Gilmore Girls reruns. How about later?
- deadowl, on 10/10/2007, -14/+22There are a lot of places in the United States that aren't safe at all, especially if you're black.
- zebr, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Cool... How is this going to change anything?
- gback2000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Saw a thing on Code Pink's and Cindy Sheehan's anti war protest the other day. I must of missed the part when the Storm Troopers came into stop it.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7psh! they are just using this as an excuse so they dont have to get jobs.
- funkyjunk3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It is also a great way to get to SEE the country. Not many people actually SEE the united states, outside of TV/internet/books.
- ShagratOfMordor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Awareness is certainly doing a bangup job on that AIDS thing.
- nakani, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Trollin's good and all, but it's lame unless you're really clever about it
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They'll be back in school, so it won't really matter too long.
- SaintStryfe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4A Children's Crusade? No no bad idea. Didn't they read how the LAST one ended up??
- OrangeTide, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Maybe I should march across the US to stop muslim fanatics from bombing and shooting rockets at people, or something. I think some people are asleep and think that if we do nothing we'll be safe and have world peace.
I don't think the Iraq war was the right decision, but it seems more wrong to destroy the government and the infrastructure, then pull out and leaving those who we have allied with in Iraq to die and the country to collapse. (did we not learn in sex ed that pulling out doesn't work?) - ShagratOfMordor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I would chip in bucks to buy them plane tickets so they could go to Waziristan and discuss peace with Al-Qaeda. I would also like to see the resultant video.
- ShagratOfMordor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5No.
- Ashex, on 10/10/2007, -6/+10Had they gone through Washington State, I'd be marching with them. Anyone want to go from washington state and meet them?
- elcaminos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Mr. President, I'm afraid they've started marching for peace."
"Oh *****, we better call the war off." - ctsokos, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6do you think the dude is just trying to get some?
- JimmyTheClam, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Why not march across Iraq all the way to the Iranian border and demand the Iranians stop trying to destabilize Iraq?
True, a lot of them would get killed by the very same Iraqis they say they want to save, but it would focus the spotlight on who is really responsible for most of the death (American and Iraqi) in Iraq.
Then they could march the remaining to Sadr City and DEMAND peace.
If they really cared and were not showboating, that's what they would do. - nakani, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5*shakes head in shame*
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Orly? I expect them to turn up their Ipods and log on to XBOX live.
- Duffle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Sounds like DIgg.
- spokesandspools, on 05/07/2008, -3/+6at first i said cool i wanns do this!
two seconds later i realized "nevermind i work/have responsibilities"
some people are just useless - bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3not really, you should learn how digg works.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I'm assuming he's calling the kid a Mr. Menopausal Cindy Attention Whore Sheehan. Not her son, who as an ADULT, re-enlisted knowing the dangers, and having more patriotic sense than his ***** mother.
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3atheists? o_O
- minox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4You're grasping at straws. You sound like Chris Farley telling Billy he slept with Veronica Vaughn.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Idiot. If you don't know what "Red State" means, then you shouldn't be commenting on U.S. politics. Let me guess. You're a 15 year old Canadian? Not that there's anything wrong with Canadians... But teens from other countries trying to be intelligent about American politics is asinine.
- OrangeTide, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4ahah chomsky! no seriously do you have something better?
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, they are!
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I apologize. I'm going to try not to become a troll... *wishes I could delete this comment*
- airjun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Note they are avoiding all the red States, they're just preaching to the choir.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Of course not. That takes courage!
- leexy, on 10/10/2007, -8/+10They'll be tagged unpatriotic, terrorist sympathizers, and every other name in the book. It's very courageous of them to go against the flow and actually try to make a difference in this insane world.
- spudhead, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6It's even more amazing how growing up doesn't necessarily improve one's critical thinking.
- MisterZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wow, if only that actually could bring peace. Sucks to be doing something that means nothing.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2***** off ***** truther. You people should be banned from Digg. Even more so than the diggers who just comment with "I'm in ur ___, ___-ng your ____. Or the "In Soviet Russia..." tards.
- NikoKun, on 10/10/2007, -8/+10Hmm... Everyone no matter what state you live in... just start marching! We'll all head to DC! and once we get there! Week long sit in and protest!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Don't you know? The root cause of Islamic terrorism is the belief that the infidel teen is unwilling to walk anywhere but even must drive his fat butt to the mailbox around the corner. They will show their blisters on the TV and AK's will be tossed into the sea.
Joking aside. These people are not for peace. They are for the US to lose the war. - retawd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why does every group claim they march to protest war? Does anyone believe they will actually march, or will they walk, saunter, jog, stumble, hop, skip, plie, scoot, and shuffle along?
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2no, the majority of the people dislike the war. i do agree, though, i think this has less to do with raising awareness and more to do with convincing people they need to get off their ass and do something.

What is Digg?
