- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28I think we could save ourselves a lot of time if we simply listed things that are not government scandals.

I'm confused, which scandal is this?
Is this the Abramoff bribery scandal or Tom DeLay's money laundering scandal?
It could be the Cunningham bribery scandal...
Or is it the illegal wiretapping scandal?
The GOP pedophilia coverup?
The 9 billion missing in Iraq scandal?
Or is it the Vermont vote tampering scandal?
The Kentucky hiring scandal?
Or the Ohio embezzeling state funds scandal?
No, wait, Ohio is another vote tampering scandal... or is that Florida?
If this is about the CIA, it could be the intel fixing scandal.
Although it could be the attempted murder of a CIA agent to get back at her husband scandal.
But it could be an entirely new scandal...
Can I get some help here? - CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16I heard the best quote about this guy while watching Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday. I dont' remmember who the guest was, but he said "Alberto Gonzalez is no less qualified now, than he was when he began the job." Obviously attesting to the fact that he was a terrible choice before, and he's just showing his true colors now [and this was a republican talking].
- UnFriendlyFire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11drmangum, your not reading the articles, the Texas ranger went to the local DA, the DA said he would convene a grand jury and he kept putting it off. the Ranger then went to the Texas AGs office with the same results, no action taken, the ranger went to the Federal prosecutor in El Paso and then the US AG Gonzales. He (the ranger) diligently worked his way up the chain of command and was turned away at every step. He only went to the Feds with a civil rights case out of desperation, because the state officials refused to take action. Even the Gov. Rick (Adios Mofo) Perry knew about this two years ago and he did nothing because he was worried about getting re-elected.

- ThatGirlTasha, on 10/12/2007, -9/+14This is an update to a story I submitted a couple of days ago- http://digg.com/political_opinion/Attorney_General_Gonzales_now_accused_in_sex_scandal_cover_up
Ya I know-Worldnetdaily- but it is still interesting. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4These neocons have sex with male prostitutes and rape little boys.

Lots of reputable news agencies all reporting on the facts of this case.
Why are my fellow Republicans so weak on crime? - GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6There was very little enthusiasm in Republican circles about the selection of Gonzales. In contrast, Republicans were excited about Powell as SoS, Rice as SoS, and Paulson as Secretary of Treasury. The Gonzales nomination fizzled, but Republicans were never against him as AG. They just weren't enthusiastically for him.
- williamdyer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3WorldNetDaily maybe on the fringe of the hard right, but they don't follow the Republican talking points.
- Pilot85, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Leftist? Maybe. Closed Minded? Nice generalization, and wrong. Witch Hunting? Comments on news stories, whether those stories be credible or ludicrous, do not a witch hunt make. It is up to every person to decide what they believe, for whatever reason. So please, by all means, continue to call people "sheep" and explain to them how wrong their world views are. It is obvious you know so much better. I do not doubt that when democratic politicians indiscretions come to light, digg users point those out as well. Who said anything about being a savior to anybody? People will continue to think for themselves - they me be easily misled, or they may be intelligent (and paranoid) enough to see some things as they truly are. But that is their decision to make. Stop taking yourself (and this site) so damn seriously.
- demonotaku, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9I can't wait to try and see him bumble through this one.
- smokecheck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ignoring the law is as bad as committing the crime--especially if your suppose to be the top U.S. law official.
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It is being investigated and the gory details are coming to light:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/special/07/legislature/4650014.html - Societas, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7[What's that you say? More lies and deception from our government officials? Clearly this is a poor attempt by the liberal conspiracy to undermine our Great Leader. News such as this is unAmerican and should be fiercely denied without question!]
/sarcasm off - SOULEVENT, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Hmmm, now molested children are liberal bushbashers? You people are a ***** joke...either the story is TRUE or it is FALSE...you only turn it into a liberal issue so you can go on worshipping at the altar of lies.
I can see the Bushtrolls are really working hard these days to pervert the truth no matter where it is!!! Eventually, Americans will look back on this Adminstration and those sociopaths who supported him, the same way Germans remember good ole Adolph. Whether you like the comparison or not, you are ***** liars, and subverters of Democracy and you are MURDERERS, and one day, your little "leader" can stand trial with all his fellow traitors...for the crimes hes comitted.
If these people will go to war under false pretenses using our own soldiers, you think they wont create a reason for THEIR people to kill Americans if we dont stop asking for justice? THIS PRESIDENT WANTS MARTIAL LAW.
Put a scarlet letter on all the bushies...A for ASSSHOLES, that way we know not to believe a DAMN thing that comes out of your mouths. - UnFriendlyFire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I can't believe people keep saying that. This story is critical of Bush admin officials. This story is not a Conservative lie. There are the true Conservatives (who believe its wrong to sit idly by for two years while boys are raped by government workers) and the neo-cons like Bush, Perry, Sutton, Gonzales, etc (who just want power by any means). And I am trying to get this story into the main stream, by using sites like this and e-mailing 'news' comentators like O'Reilly, Obermann, Limbaugh, Dobbs, etc.
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I would like to remain positive and think that someone stood up for what was right but after the Foley scandal it is very plausible that everything he said did transpire. I hope that we don't turn a blind eye to this possibility because of politics and we start acting on what is right in general vs what is right for the party I like. Here this man is lamenting his difficulty to get action taken, everything he has done is laid out, and you do not believe him. I hope congress investigates this so there can be no doubt whether or not this did happen. Here he is testifying and going out of his way, the least we can do is investigate this and not blow him off "because this couldn't happen." It could happen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol bamont is a typical neocon moron, getting all defensive for no reason.

"Frank denies that he knew, saying he learned from his landlord and kicked Gobie out in August 1987. Gobie supports this part of Frank's story."
also...
"Gobie said his disclosures are only beginning."
That article mentions gay prostitution and not "raping little boys". Also, that article was in 1996. And we hear nothing else since then. Geeeee.... I wonder why? Nice try.... but here are cases we see of the GOP. How is that Mark Foley....? How about Jeff Gannon the White House Prostitute?

oh and there is much more here:
Myth: Republicans value sexual morality
http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/Examples_of_Republican_hypocrisy_on_moral_values
You know why this is a huge issue? Because it was the Republican Party who has been slinging the word "Values" so much. Now it is coming to bite them all in their hypocritical asses. - illyriah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I still won't trust World Net Daily. Get it out into the mainstream then I will at least give it some consideration. But WND is just a conservative hotbed for misinformation. It is the "news" that backs the conservative lies and keeps the party in line.
- peeroette, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Consider the reports of parent calls and complaints. Something is going on. Let's wait and see where Gonzo fits into all of this. Too many people crying "is so" and "ain't so" when you don't have all the facts yet.
- PlagueMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Yes- Gonzales bothers me, too.
- Rhodamine, on 10/12/2007, -13/+11Come On Guys!!!
I'm no fan of Gonzales, Cheney, Bush, or anyone else in this administration AT ALL! But lets consider the sources here so we can retain our own creditability. This is an article from the World Net Daily. - the same place that reported that "Soy is making kids 'gay'" cited here:
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53327
Here are a coupla other tidbits from/on this hack reporting site:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WorldNetDaily
http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/outlets/worldnetdaily
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54420
For all intents and purposes it is the equivalent to the Enquirer online.
Lets do some fact checking so our arguments are sound and our voices make more of an impact. The conservatives have trouble playing the game clean so we need to be doubly sure that we really are doing the right thing(s) and not being hypocritical. - mezzamorphis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/local/longterm/tours/scandal/gobie2.htm
so do liberal democrats - Rhodamine, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This makes the 1st and probably last time I'll copy it. I made an amendment from my original comment. I don't feel too bad since the same article was posted at least twice and the sentiment behind remains the same. Good eye.
- drmangrum, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3No, I read the article. I just don't believe everything the way it is written. I refuse to believe in a failure in the government on that scale. Now before you have a knee jerk reaction, let me explain. Many people would have to had been exposed to this. That many people can't be held silent for that long. Secretaries, underlings, building staff etc would catch wind of it eventually. Then the news would catch wind of it, then political pressure makes things happen rather quickly.
Everything in the article is given from only the rangers point-of-view. I'm sorry, but I won't make a decision until I see more info. The DA could have had a viable reason for "putting it off." We don't know. Frankly, until more info is released this looks more like the ranger is trying to position himself to take a political office. - Pilot85, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2oops, wrong reply. Also, meh.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6Alberto Gonzales es un pendejo cabron que le gusta lamber culos de hombres.
- furryplanet, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Have you no soul?!?
- drmangrum, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4In a world of media sensationalism, everything is a scandal. Most things are not scandals, they are just ineptness, poor judgment calls, or expecting too much from one person.
There are just some weird things with what the guy is saying. He's the law enforcement, why does he need state or federal attorney generals to open up an investigation? Last time I checked, all law enforcement needs to proceed with an investigation is a local DA to prosecute and a judge to issue warrants. Both of those can be handled by the county. To expect any attorney general to attend to EVERY request is asinine. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7Good digg. I'm sure Gonzales didn't have much to do. I'm sure no other Attorney General has had complaints about how their staff prioritize issues. Let's can all those republicans. I bet we can find someone to complain about each and every one. That proves just how much they suck. Simple logic.
- demonotaku, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Dude, it's a conservative site that is telling us about problems that were caused my conservatives. What are bitching about?
Edit: Never mind >.> - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4some liberal media, we have to rely on that piece of ***** repug rag World net Daily to come up with this?
my favorite line:
"The staff under investigation includes the whole range of TYC staff, from the top to the bottom," - randf, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7in other news, close scrutiny of Gonzales' personal life revealed that he paid his JC Penny credit card late once, has returned DVDs to Blockbuster well past thier due date several times incurring harsh penalties, and has been rumoured to drive on public streets with tires that are not properly inflated.
he is obviously unfit for public office and Bill Maher agrees - DeskFlyer, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Digg down this comment please.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -24/+6Nice how you only refer to a neo-conservative "news" organization when it comes to supporting something that most Diggsters would believe.
Simply because the majority of this site thinks something, doesn't mean it's true. Just look at the American population as a whole.
Or maybe just call Digg what it really is?
Leftist. Close-Minded. Witch-Hunting.
Worlddailynet? Give me a ***** break. You people will believe ANYTHING about this administration. You're the ***** sheep - not the rest of us who don't buy into ***** like this.
And even if it were true, everytime this happens the Diggsters treat it like it were some sort of ***** anomaly that government officials and beauracrats do this kind of thing.
It's happened with Democrats and Republicans alike. You all just like pretending as though you're some sort of a savior to the world. You aren't.

What is Digg?
