- haharoflmao, on 01/20/2009, -29/+118This is horrible, I wish the Senator good health.

- willx, on 01/20/2009, -26/+70If he were Republican, there would be nothing but cheers in here. I voted for Obama, but I have little sympathy for Ted Kennedy. He killed a girl and he liked it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chappaquiddick_incide ...
- Pixelante, on 01/20/2009, -2/+45This is Digg. Classless douchebaggery is the norm here.
- woofers07, on 01/20/2009, -21/+63Wow, there's a lot of classless douchebags in here.
- Moisgreat, on 01/20/2009, -11/+50Who gave Sen Kennedy the Peanut Butter?
- CoD4, on 01/20/2009, -6/+38that cheney's using the force grip again!
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -2/+27Because it takes so much courage to be a dick online?
- KenSPT, on 01/20/2009, -20/+42Ted Kennedy is a murdering piece of *****, how anyone can feel sympathy for this guy is beyond me ...
- bigtoes, on 01/20/2009, -2/+23He liked it ? Ouch !
- Pimptastic, on 01/20/2009, -7/+28As a lifelong republican I still dont wish ill will towards those that have a diffrent view than me. I hope Senator Kennedy recovers from this and can enjoy something his brothers worked so hard for.
- MCA2142, on 01/20/2009, -4/+24Get a job grouch.
- ZincSaucier, on 01/20/2009, -0/+19im not agreeing that its not tragic.. but this guy is right. he did kill an innocent girl. Being drunk behind the wheel and killing someone is not my idea of an accident. You don't get drunk and drive in the first place, and moreover, you don't have someone in your car if you make the poor decision to drunk drive. Okay so you make two horrible judgement calls and accidentally end up in the water. At this point, being drunk can not be then used as an excuse for refusing to save the girl yourself, and then waiting till morning to call a lawyer before calling the police. Rescue crews confirmed she herself did die a painful death, which took a great deal of time. In fact, based on their known response time, the rescue crew said she would most likely have survived if he had called 911. He should have spent at least 20 years behind bars for making at least 5 bad decisions and killing someones little girl. And he never should have been a senator.
- southwestnut, on 01/20/2009, -2/+20get it together grouch
- hrhs556x, on 01/20/2009, -2/+19agreed, it's amazing how everyone has turned a blind eye on that event, just becuase it happened so long ago
- jeremyczu, on 01/20/2009, -3/+19So was the girl that he left to drown in his limo...
- MacEnvy, on 01/20/2009, -1/+17Teddy is not in the House.
- IphtashuFitz, on 01/20/2009, -5/+20I bet you wouldn't look that good if you were 77 years old and had recently undergone brain surgery and chemotherapy to remove a tumor.
Agreed on the sentiments. - btschul, on 01/20/2009, -0/+14I think that the ill wishes have more to do with the fact that he murdered a girl and he was never punished and was allowed to keep his job as a senator that with any differences in views, unless of course those views are on the value of human life.
- mateo60, on 01/20/2009, -8/+22He's a real person with a family. So yes, it's bad news.
- spepin, on 01/20/2009, -19/+32I just heard about that.
That's really too bad, especially on such an awesome day.
I wish Sen. Kennedy all the best. - JROXZ, on 01/20/2009, -3/+14buried for wasting space!
- gtluke, on 01/20/2009, -9/+20SWIM TED SWIM!!!
- mst3kcrow, on 01/20/2009, -3/+13Why feel bad about a guy who was more concerned with his political career than saving a woman who was dying slowly and painfully? Sure, hopefully he doesn't suffer in his death but ffs, the guy isn't exactly a role model.
- Pimptastic, on 01/20/2009, -6/+16Even though what he did was horrible. I think I will take the high ground and show compassion. I am refusing to go down to the level of those that used everything against Bush to demonize him and wish him ill will.
- pak314, on 01/20/2009, -1/+11He has a battle rez but is is on one hour cooldown.
- Moosington, on 01/20/2009, -0/+9Byrd had issues during the luncheon as well.
- Jdub7, on 01/20/2009, -2/+11Good job, really! A relevant front page story. That got dugg quickly, and not by a digg tool ( I mean power user).
- Hazardc, on 01/21/2009, -0/+9No, I'm pretty sure everyone "gets it", dumbass.
You're not as cunning and witty as you think. - erik22h, on 01/20/2009, -22/+31Good. He is a murderer. He killed a women while driving drunk but waited until he was sober to report it. Read wikipedia and make your own judgement: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chappaquiddick_incide ...
Read that and then say you feel sorry for him. - inactive, on 01/20/2009, -10/+18Ted Kennedy is a vile man -- a skirt-chasing, alcoholic, self-obsessed murderer. You'd never know that by the lovefest in here. Now that is not to say that I wish he were dead. I don't. I hope that he lives long enough to make better choices and undo some of the damage he's done to our country and to Massachusetts in particular.
- a2fan, on 01/20/2009, -6/+14"Mr. President... it's Senator Kennedy... he's Ted."
- willx, on 01/20/2009, -5/+13I'm not gleeful, but I'm neither sympathetic. Besides, those two situations are totally different. She was a teenager, he was a grown man allegedly committing adultery, driving drunk, and failed to report it. Not to mention he escaped from the situation with a "sentence" none of us would receive had we done something similar.
- superterrorizer, on 01/20/2009, -1/+9Yeah, force lightning ***** with his pacemaker.
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -2/+10Seems like Ted Kennedy is one of those magic topics that on Digg opens a rift between our world and a vast dimension of tactless dolts.
- Moosington, on 01/20/2009, -3/+10More like, Ted Kennedy "seizes and convulses" at inauguration lunch.
- deity, on 01/20/2009, -3/+10If he actually did what you suggest it might make up somewhat for what he did in that car wreck. Ted Kennedy has done absolutely nothing except pander to the less fortunate. By rewarding those who make poor life choices he has perpetuated poverty and dependence on the government instead of excellence and independence.
The government can't help others, all it can do is take from one group and give to another. It rewards those who don't contribute and punishes those that are most productive.
Individuals can help and be charitable, all government can do is steal and redistribute. It always makes me laugh when I see how republicans contribute more to charities than liberals, while liberals always want to force everyone to "help the less fortunate" whether they want to or not. - mijohnst, on 01/20/2009, -1/+8The vindictive side to me of me says that he should suffer x10 for ever year he lived free while her death went unjustified.
- BedPost, on 01/21/2009, -0/+7Dude, where in there does it say he liked it? I read that entire article, and the guy seemed pretty mentally unstable after the incident. He never said "Ahh I liked killing Mary Jo, I'd do it again to" or something.
- onestrawplz, on 01/20/2009, -5/+12It's tough to compare Kennedy to cold blooded killers like Manson or Simpson or the 9/11 highjackers.
Was he a douche for not reporting the accident immediately? Yes. He was. But does that put him on the same level as someone who meticulously planned and carried out murders? No, I don't really think so. - walgman, on 01/20/2009, -6/+13hah hah lol.
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -39/+47At least he got to see his efforts on behalf of Obama to fruition.
Good thoughts to Senator Kennedy. Stay strong! The Dems need you to lead us back to the America we've been promised. - deadasdisco, on 01/20/2009, -9/+16... and you seem like a very pleasant person.
- plaguepony, on 01/20/2009, -2/+9Work It Harder, Make It Better
Do It Faster, Makes Us stronger - MattFromSeattle, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6Byrd also left feeling out of sorts, but was not taken to a hospital.
