I do personally think you're overly optimistic about the composition of the tea party movement with respect to small 'c' conservatives versus ***** idiots (another term which I'll politely decline to define) who are just pissed off that they lost the 2008 election, but that's really just a difference of opinion. You think the majority of the tea partiers are intelligent, reasonable small 'c' conservatives, and I think the majority are ***** nuts with no coherent message other than"socialism is bad", with your crew sadly representing a minority. I suppose at some point it would be eye-opening to try and capture that breakdown in a poll, but I honestly can't think of a way to ask "are you a nutjob" and get an honest answer.

But like you Galt, Ayn Rand also struggled to present logical arguments. I know she did, but her economic philosophy was still basically libertarian, whether she wanted to admit it or not. And what you did in generalizing a whole group of people as anti-semitic is collectivism, which Rand rightfully spoke out against.
