- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -13/+139It's almost as if Tancredo (and his GOP base) believes that we are at war against Islam.
- GruntGrunt, on 11/07/2007, -14/+105This ***** is absolutely insane.
- CletusJones, on 10/10/2007, -12/+87If you didn't know before, you now know why this ***** isn't exactly a frontrunner.
- MrGrinchstick, on 10/10/2007, -9/+80Perhaps the MOST IRRESPONSIBLE thing Ive ever heard a politician say ever.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -12/+72A bully spits in your lunch. What will you think happen when you spit in his? If you said, "He'll leave you alone," you're deluded.
- ogore, on 10/10/2007, -5/+63If we bomb holy sites it won't just be the fundamentalists who want to attack the US
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+59This dude would bomb his grandmother for wetting the bed.
- waluum, on 10/10/2007, -6/+49If there was a serious enough attack on the US to warrant that it would be the beginning of the end. If we retaliated by hitting Mecca and Medina, it would be the middle of the end. What would follow thereafter would be the end, no doubt about it.
That would be one of the absolute worst things that could possibly be done, and no Muslim nation would be with us, but wholeheartedly against us - not to mention the rest of the world.
Tancredo is a DAMN FOOL! Anyone who votes for, or supports, him knowing what he said here is no different! - MasterThief117, on 10/10/2007, -12/+54Wow. This guy is a terrorist and should be arrested for such threats.
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -8/+39What you are saying is if Islam attacks us, Islam deserves to be attacked by us. But we have never been attacked by Islam and we are not at war with Islam, so why are our presidential candidates threatening Islam?
- polyGone, on 10/10/2007, -14/+44Who would vote for this idiot *****?
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -5/+34What you (and Tancredo) are doing is advocating using terrorism (using the fear of "a large number of peaceful people" of their holy sites being destroyed) in order to deter terrorism. You are advocating violence against people with whom we are not at war.
- ogore, on 10/10/2007, -9/+38and they say Islamic extremism is bad
- RollFizzlebeef, on 10/10/2007, -12/+36This guy represents the district where Columbine happened; clearly, there's something in the water there. He also made his name appealing to the closet racists of that area by being extremely anti-immigration...in COLORADO.
- Repsaj1980, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27According to Clintons' own words, he was closer to catching the real spitter, osama, than Bush ever was.
What Bush did was go to some totally unrelated bully and punched him in the face, then burned down his house.
Osama? Well Bush's still running around the playground, trying to catch him. - aracine, on 10/10/2007, -12/+36Dear Tom Tancredo, you ignorant knobjockey,
One of the reasons these people have attacked the US in the past, continue to attempt so today, and will keep doing so in the future, is that the USA has already attacked and bombed their people, their buildings, their holy sites, their homes. The US (and some of the rest of the Western world) can't keep its nose out of the middle east, and likes the idea of jumping in and taking a big ***** in the middle of someone else's homeland.
So, When the USA has done this in the past, it's resulted in acts of terrorism against the USA. What makes you think performing this exact same thing in the future is going to make things better? I'm reminded of a little definition of insanity, which is performing the same action repeatedly and expecting a different outcome.
Thanks,
Sane People. - Monkeybrains, on 10/10/2007, -6/+30Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo is a moron.
Just sayin' - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+26If a bully spits in my lunch, I hit him with a ***** chair. He won't do it twice.
- Grumps, on 10/10/2007, -8/+29That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -5/+26Islam bans reverance of things. Threatening to bomb Mecca won't change their attitude towards attacking us. The only thing it will do is piss off the moderate and liberal Muslims and make them our enemies.
- hotsake, on 10/10/2007, -8/+27Yeah! Alright! Tancredo for President!
Of hell. - gdenfield, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21That would so obviously not help our situation that the idea should never occur in anyone's mind, no matter how crazy they are.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Gangs are a problem in our urban areas. Do you think destroying large swaths of our cities will somehow solve that problem, too?
Dealing with ideologues who employ terrorism is often a case of making the majority of the populace turn away from supporting them. Generally, this ISN'T done by blowing up houses, places of worship, and civilians. Many Iraqis want the terrorists out of their country as much as we do. However, the terrorists are the only ones trying to get rid of the occupying force that managed to eff up their country even worse than it was before, so they tollerate them enough to allow them to operate. - NSResponder, on 10/10/2007, -8/+26In the words of the Sage of Baltimore, H.L. Mencken: "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong."
-jcr - swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -7/+24Share my deterrent with you? Sorry, it's my policy not to negotiate with terrorists.
- rhabd0mancer, on 10/10/2007, -6/+23The latest polls show Ron Paul at 2%, Tancredo at 1%.
Buh-bye. - jerryparid, on 10/10/2007, -5/+21If one nation decides to declare war upon the second largest and fastest growing religion in the world; that country will perish. The United States now face a minute fraction of the fundamental Muslims, but if the US were to bomb a holy shrine, 1.4 billion would rise up and fight back.
- Nateon, on 10/10/2007, -6/+20When you're behind Ron Paul, you're pretty much *****.
- DrCyclops, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15So... if some Catholics do something bad, we should nuke the Vatican?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17Maybe the point was to get you to react in kind so he could feel justified for taking further action against you.
- ninefournine949, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20Yep, thats a great idea! Lets bomb Islamic holy sites and then face daily... nay hourly bombings in school, hospitals, churches, playgrounds, homes, etc etc around the globe.
If you think bombing holy sites that are the solution to terrorism, then you sir are a ***** *****. right now its only the nutcases, do that and you will have over a billion people ready to kill and die. - altjeringa, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17What I find most amusing about this is not that Mr. Tancredo is spouting ignorant and harmful rhetoric but that that the reaction to his ignorant and harmful rhetoric is.... more ignorant and harmful rhetoric.
Unless we can learn to react with greater eloquence, foresight , and strategy we are a doomed nation. - chiggah, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17Bombing their holy site wouldn't accomplish anything, if not, only adds more oil to a fire.
Pro war or not, Liberal or Neo-con ,that's one ***** retarded idea. - Tankslap, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Nice double entendre.
- art42, on 10/10/2007, -7/+19It worked for Thatcher when she said, "If the IRA bombs England again we'll bomb the Vatican!"
/sarcasm off
Mass murder does not justify mass murder. - swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16you win the analogy
- pennpaper, on 10/10/2007, -6/+18Bomb Mecca?
Oh, man. He'd be declaring war on the entire Muslim population, not just some cave-dwelling goat humpers. Even digg-digging,Tribes-playing, Simpson's-watching Muslims like me would be forced to go to war under the protection of religion clause in our holy book. And I was so hoping to watch Spider-man 4 before I died in a Jihad.
What is this guy smoking? And where can I get some, please? - jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13they are more worried about justifying to other though. They want to win the hearts and minds of the Islamic world.
- Alphabet, on 10/10/2007, -6/+17Guy 1: Oh yea? I blew up your church because you messed with me.
Guy 2: Oh yea? I blew up your mosque because you messed with me
Guy 3: Oh yea? I blew up your church because you messed with me
and so and so on for all eternity. And just think, it only takes one person to stop retaliating for the whole process to stop.
/religion is ***** up sometimes - merowe, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14I'm a moderate conservative and I completly agree with you. This idea would be just crazy dumb... Al Qaeda has hijacked the muslim religion. People within the group sacrific themselves for their cause. Who is not to say that Bin Laden and Co. are crazy enough to sacrifice the holy land for their cause? The whole muslim world would have to be against the US if this were to take place -- and that is a pretty tempting opportunity for crazy fundamentalists...
- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13I sincerely say that if Islamic sites were to get bombed then America would have ZERO Islamic friends. Right now theres a small minority of Islamic extremist that think blowing ***** up will get them somewhere, the rest of us muslims think they're just ass holes and would kill em ourselves for tainting our religion. Bombing Islamic sites would cause a retaliation which is a thousand times worse than that whole 2 month incident regarding the derogatory cartoons that were drawn on the Islamic prophet.
Anyway not to fear, Americans will never allow that to happen. - Hananda, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11This is almost certainly protected by the First Amendment. I suppose it could be argued that statements like that could provoke extremists to attack the US, in which case his speech could conceivably no longer be protected, but that would never stand up in court.
- altjeringa, on 10/10/2007, -7/+16I'm not exactly sure you're brain is in working order. A simple exercise may help unclog the gunk.
1) Sit quietly for a moment with FOX news turned off.
2) Think how you would react if somebody started bombing christian churches. Would you lay down arms or pick them up?
3) Welcome yourself to the world of rational thought. - psYcon, on 10/10/2007, -5/+14sad thing is, people are going to vote for him. Conservative talk show hosts like Michael Savage and Mike Gallagher have already stirred controversy by making remarks like bombing not just Mecca and Medina but nuking the entire Middle East. There's a word for these people and its called extremists. Much like we have Muslim extremists.
- DrCyclops, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Um... yeah, about that...
(Looks at list of countries that have used nuclear weapons in combat.)
Nevermind. - avnerlevit, on 10/10/2007, -12/+21then... even the so called moderates will bomb the ***** out of us and there would be a jihad x 100,000.
Insane *****. - DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -5/+14It's not really a war against Western culture but a constant struggle to keep their own. There was an incident when an Arab went to see a Dutch minister who was female, the arab man didn't shake the hands of the lady but instead greeted her vocally because he explained that in his culture men and women don't shake hands. Fair enough - I mean some cultures prefer to eat rats and dogs, but who has the right to judge right? Well apparently this Dutch minister forgot the Arab business men were her guests and replied to the Arabs explanation on not shaking hands with a "Well we'll soon have to change that - won't we". I mean if it's your guest you accommodate them not the other way round. It's like inviting a vegetarian to your Dinner party and then telling them to have your meat dishes becauseyou would feel insulted otherwise.
^***** long post. - Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Not to mention any country that finds nuking large amounts of civilians, well, abhorrent.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12Idiot *****?
- barc0001, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Incorrect. What you did was start looking for the bully for a bit (Afghanistan), then get bored of that and decide to go burn down that guy's house three blocks over that you've always hated because he took a poke at your dad a few years back. The original bully is still running around planning to spit in a future lunch of yours. Well played!
