- Cutkomp, on 10/11/2007, -6/+141Props to Tancredo for doing the right thing...
- diggingbar, on 10/11/2007, -6/+72Hey Tancredo!.. Sure, Ron would love to come to the forum!.. Maybe you'll join us at the party he's having next door after the forum.. Snacks and drinks for the first 500 attendees I'm told..
- dburanen, on 10/11/2007, -4/+64Even when he tries to be in one of the 2 big parties instead of libertarian, he can't get in the debates. Our system is so hosed sometimes.
I hope all Republicans vote for Ron Paul. This independent voter would only vote Republican if Ron Paul were the candidate. - Danial, on 10/11/2007, -3/+59While I staunchly disagree with Tom Tancredo on a lot of things, I have to give credit where is due.
Hats off to Tancredo for doing what's right. - theshizzler, on 10/11/2007, -3/+57While I'm sure there will be a ton of knee-jerk burials to anything that has to do with Ron Paul, this actually is a very interesting piece of news. Especially coming from Tancredo.
- Fieri, on 10/11/2007, -1/+41These inept losers at the top of the Republican Party are completely clueless. You don't defeat the "screw-the-system" candidate by ignoring him, that only increases his power. Hell, they're feeding Ron Paul supporters faster than he can assimilate them. You defeat him by making everyone hate him. The Establishment could defeat Ron Paul by telling liberals how conservative he is and telling conservatives how pro-drug, anti-death penalty, etc. he is.
Not that I want Dr. Paul defeated. I wish I could shout this over the internets: Ron Paul is the first candidate who is worthy to be president for over half a century!! - UtahApocalyse, on 10/11/2007, -3/+32I also emailed team Tancredo asking that if Dr. Paul is not included would they be willing to drop out. I am sure that the Ron Paul campaign would give them time at his event if that happened.
- crazybugger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30Time is running out of our hand. We need to fix this system before its too late.
- kosmoX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24I'm treasurer of the College Republicans at my school, and I'm planning on getting the whole group on board with the local Ron Paul campaign. Might not be much, but at least it's a start.
- karmavsdogma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23Instead of Ron Paul joining the "forum", they should just Tivo the thing next door, and have Dr. Paul answer the questions as they're asked. Release that video on the web, and we'll see how long it is until it makes national news.
- Gadren, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I'm certainly no fan of Tancredo, but this shows maturity. Any candidate would need to be able to do what Tancredo did here to even be considered worthy of being leader of a country.
- kevin1987, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19Major props to Tancredo, I've always agreed with a lot of what he has to say but I just think Ron Paul stands for a more major change that this country needs right now. A Paul/Tancredo duo would be great!
- LeeSoong, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Ron Paul IS the next president of the United States of America.
Vote Paul! - jeffs111, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18Go Ron Paul 2008!!
Google Video and YouTube "Ron Paul"!!!!
Donate to Ron Paul 2008 and/or join local Meetup Ron Paul group!!!
Learn about Ron Paul now before it is too late to save this country!!! - micahglasser, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Its funny how many socialists think they're pro-freedom when they're really a bunch of pro-state fascists.
- Deliguy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Kudos to him. Standing up for someone who has been wronged even though you're against them is a very admirable quality.
- faskippy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13The mere fact that the ass kissers don't want him in the debates shows that he has hit the nail on the head, and should be a wake up to all. Even if someone doesn't agree 100% with Dr. Paul, you must admit he would do much more than any other candidate to clean house and get this Country back to a respectable way of doing business. Isn't that the best place to start?
- samadam, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15i think this is the real link you want:
http://www.teamtancredo.com/pressreleasedetail.asp?PressReleaseID=59 - reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -6/+17I *almost* hate Tancredo, but he did the right thing here.
- VodkaAvenger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12I never, ever thought I would say this...
Thank you, Representative Tancredo. - stealthc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Combine this with Paul's rally immediately after the forum -- and in the same building -- and this Iowa forum has become a huge PR boon to Paul. To the brainless Republicans at the top, Ron must seem like the spider in that lady's sink in that Twilight Zone episode. She kept swatting it, but it only grew bigger, and bigger, and bigger...
- tardmongerster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12All of you who want Ron Paul to win, LISTEN UP!
He MUST win the Republican nomination first. The primary elections begin in January. That's only 6 months away! The only way for Ron Paul to win the primaries is for you to vote for him. You will only be allowed to vote for him, in most states, if you are a registered republican.
So go register yourself as a republican now so that you are eligible to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. Then switch back later if you want to. - buff01, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Tancredo is a good guy. If he could tone down his war rhetoric, he and Dr. Paul might want to team up.... (Tancredo as VP?)
- Cutkomp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Haha, I hear ya. But that's the thing, it's hard to make people hate Ron Paul. The lies and defamations that certain elements have been tossing about have only helped. Thank you Internet(s)!
- ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -12/+21O SNAP!
Tancredo is a good guy on a lot of things, but he seems to be a xenophobe. Nonetheless, he did a good thing. - JebBlack, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Exclude Ron paul, he'll just grow more popular! Personally im sick of "politics as usual" in this country. Anyone see Ron Paul on attack of the show last night? He wants NO restrictions on the internet while the others are finding ways to control it and make it like china's internet. If you love freedom, you gotta love Ron Paul!
- khfn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10stop the h8
- kosmoX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I am a Republican, and the same beliefs that make Ron Paul a Republican are the same reasons I'm a Republican. We aren't all in love with Bush; some of us know what our party stands for.
- Krippy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Be sure to comment back here when you get a response, it could be interesting.
I could bet you that Tancredo would get more exposure if he dropped out, it'd be a good move for both candidates. - Dudeee, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Ron Paul is at least a top 4 candidate he's doing a lot better then the other minor candidates no mater what you say.
- BrokenBokken, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I will be switching to Republican (I am Independant) just to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries in my state.
Kosmox - anyone supporting Ron is helping. Just getting the word out on what he stands for and getting people interested in his campaign can be a huge influence. I heard a little bit at work (sometimes we talk politics) about Ron's view, and that night I went out and looked up his website. I was immediately a fan. It only takes a few people advocating his views to make him a popular candidate. It's Reaganomics for campaigning. - janeuner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7In my book, anyone that Karl Rove calls "a traitor to the party" is a hero.
- resta6, on 01/12/2009, -1/+8from what I understand its not a question and answer forum, its a "here is me reading a 10 page essay about my positions" forum
Paul is doing the right thing by holding his own, because all the reporters from the forum will go to Paul's things right after the forum ends. I imagine this will get quiet a bit of news coverage due to the hypocrisy of the situation - khfn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Yea, seriously kidjay, that is a retarded thing to say. I'm sure he has nothing against Mexicans. I bet he just sees a dire emergency when there is a flood of _illegal_ immigrants driving down the wages. This is obviously class warfare.
- buff01, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Tancredo doesn't hate Mexicans. He just doesn't want to sell out the law-abiding, taxpaying, LEGAL citizens of this country.
- khfn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7mad props
- Cutkomp, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Not that I care if you hate me, but hatred is a fairly strong emotion and you should get that in check before you 'hate' the wrong person in real-life sometime.
- gagan97, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7 Giuliani is also in the list of invitations..humm
- KILLBUSH, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7When searching for the story in digg using terms like ron paul, rep paul, or rep. paul.....whatever you do it doesn't show up. Least for me, anyone else get any luck?
- Billhaynes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Tancredo has stepped forward and done the right thing. Now, let's hear from Rudy Girl, John "Bombs Away" McCain, Flipper Romney and the rest the wannabes.
- GoneSouth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Tancredo is opposed to *all* immigration, not just illegals. He introduced a bill in 2002 (I think) that would have reduce the yearly green card allotment to 0. This is also the guy that called Miami a third world country because of all the brown people there, and called for nuking of Muslim holy sites.
He is definitely *not* vice presidential material. Although I understand the bar is quite low these days. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Tom's recent book 'In Mortal Danger' outlines all the issues surrounding illegal immigration and how it is destroying the US. Thumbs up to Tom Tancredo for helping Ron Paul. The two together would make a decent team in the Whitehouse.
- dovesong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4He's not really a xenophobe. He is OK with LEGAL immigration. He is not racsist or anything. He cares about the illegals but his people and country come first as it should be.
- dovesong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3To agree with tardmongerster above~~ If you are registered as an independent or democrat, you CANNOT vote for Ron in the primaries. He has GOT to win the PRIMARY!! EVERYONE needs to register now as a REPUBLICAN for now. Tom Tancredo is a very good man and would make a good team up for Ron Paul.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You know what I don't get is how the MSM continue to say Ghouliani and Co. are leading all the polls all the time which is total *****. Everyone actually hates Rudy for the ***** he pulled on 9/11.
- BrokenBokken, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I would like to hear their response as well. I'm glad Tancredo stood up for what is right. And Krippy is right. It would only make him look better, as long as the media covered it.
- pintomp3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3actually, he did. along with brownback and huckabee. wanna see the video?
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/05/03/who-doesnt-believe-in-evolution/ - BelXul, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Wow, reading this article, and knowing that there are 10 Republicans on the campaign trail towards the presidency, it just occurred to me that these clowns had invited EVERY one of the candidates EXCEPT for Ron Paul! I read on other articles last week that they were only inviting ones that they felt would have a chance at the presidency, which judging from the article was everyone but Rep. Paul. What is this?!
- EnglishVoodoo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Hot dogs and burgers to the first 500 - the Iowans for high tax rates and corporate loopholes will be lured by the luscious scent of meat and hear the message of Liberty. Briliant.
- Mageant, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3If the mass media and Repulican establishment try to silence Ron Paul that makes his supporters even more determined. If, on the other hand, they allow him to speak, that makes more people wake up and increases his number of supporters. Ron Paul is an unstoppable juggernaut.
