- BIGOTHER1, on 06/15/2009, -17/+69The Republicans, despite the evidence of the past election, secretly believe that everyone is 'with them' in their 'old South/Southern stategy' antipathy to Negroes. And this is how they intend to keep it alive, keep sending 'jokes' that the other secret racists will share among themselves.
- niradg, on 06/15/2009, -11/+47And another case of Republican racism in South Carolina: http://digg.com/politics/More_South_Carolina_Repub ...
- gllopc, on 06/16/2009, -3/+34That was a very different Republican Party.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -8/+35If a Republican makes a racist picture, and mails it to the *wrong* e-mail list: Reprimanded.
If a late night comedian makes a joke about the 18 year old (yes the 18 year old, not the 14 year old) daughter of an Alaskan Governor getting knocked up: Fire him. - Solkre, on 06/16/2009, -5/+31I just want a party that leaves me alone and ***** spends less, is that so hard?
- lhbaker, on 06/15/2009, -17/+42Personally, I hope these idiot Republicans never figure out how to use the Internet. It seems like all that's left of the party is racists and warmongers, and they're Tweeting and emailing themselves into oblivion.
- asgardshill, on 06/16/2009, -3/+23The drip on this side of the faucet betrays the flood that waits behind it.
(I oughta be writing for fortune cookies ...) - Jookly, on 06/16/2009, -6/+25Now THAT pisses me off. Anyone that thinks this has ANYTHING to do with being a Republican/Democrat is ***** in the head. Get the dick out of your ear.
The bottom line is that this picture is disrespectful to the president. Same as if someone had circulated the same picture with George Bush in a KKK outfit.
Neither of which would be a funny joke... - Hetman, on 06/16/2009, -3/+18Actually the civil war was fought over state rights. It turns out the states lost. Any ways as gllopc mentioned the republican party is nothing like the party 100 years ago.
- HopeForTomorrow, on 06/16/2009, -11/+26Republicans = People who fear change. They fear any change from social policy (Gay Marriage issue) to the race of the president. (Omg, he's not white? OMGWTF".
And they're just pissed off and following to the lead of Rush. - kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -10/+24This is the fourth such incident in a month. 3 in 3 DAYS. Why don't you address that? why the "this doesn't mean all Republicans", like someone said all Republicans. It sure seems to be quite a trend though, eh?
And, let me guess: You were outraged, OUTRAGED over the Letterman joke? - lanemik, on 06/16/2009, -15/+28Hey Repubs, how's that southern strategy working for you?
- charlie6969, on 06/16/2009, -8/+20I don't know. I was pretty disgusted.

I've seen and heard worst unfortunately. Seriously, you have no idea. - WasabiBomb, on 06/16/2009, -3/+13Personally, I think it's going fairly well. We've already started seeing an increase in jobs. I'm sorry you haven't been paying attention.
- Hetman, on 06/16/2009, -1/+11It does not even have to be that bad. They were angry when JFK was elected because he was a catholic and not a wasp.
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -1/+11@TCSavant
Still unwilling to address the racist actions of the last three days? Won't even comment on them? Interesting. These are actual members of the party, not rank and file, yet you want to pretend they are playing to their base? If this type of stuff WASN'T accepted, why are they sending it out. Are they trying to purposely alienate their constituents? Is THAT your argument? Because it sure does look like they know what their people want, and they are giving it to them.
As for my assumption of the "Republican mind", I was a Republican for many years. The bigotry drove me away, along with the lack of ideas and narrow minded approach.
I find it interesting that you aren't even willing to say that these pictures, twitters, and emails are wrong. Trapped in ideologue land?
Oh, and show me the hundreds and thousands of racist things, in writing. See, we HAVE written examples to point to, all occurring daily, from Republicans. You can't say you are "sure" of something, with zero proof. That just proves you are an intellectual coward. - woodsjransom, on 06/16/2009, -1/+10The argument that you are posing for this stupidity is typical, it is what it is. Any attempt to trivialize an action that has racial overtones is dumb. Countering in defense of the indefensible with a reverse accusation of racism is an insult to any thinking person's intelligence and you should shut the hell up. If your attitude is that there is nothing wrong with what was done, your response should be in line and consistent with Goforth's attitude and response "...all she could do was claim that she had simply sent it "from the wrong email address. In other words, not sorry that she sent out a blatantly racist email, only sorry that she got caught..." Trying to get people to believe that you and Goforth are too ignorant to be racist won't wash. Racism makes you stupid.
- Insightful, on 06/16/2009, -20/+28Republicans: Just can't stay classy.
- DrVic, on 06/16/2009, -2/+10in a racist sort of way.
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -1/+9"3 or 4 incidents = "quite a trend"?"
3 in 3 days. Yes, that is quite a trend. And if you are going to pretend this is ALL that has come out of the Republican party, I am embarrassed for you.
Additionally, these are all party representatives, sending out racist, bigoted stuff, because they think that is what their constituents WANT.
Noodle on that, while you try to pretend nothing is going on. - Smokeydabear, on 06/16/2009, -8/+16Just because a black guy sent it to you doesn't make it any less racist, douche.
- inactive, on 06/15/2009, -14/+21i thought it was going to be violent or sexual. that was not so much DISGUSTING as it was plain reprehensible.. gotta keep an eye on those adjectives..
- Vermifax, on 06/16/2009, -1/+8FAIL.
Depiction of W. as a chimpanzee wasn't based on a racial stereotype.
Are we up to speed now or is more phony GOP outrage on the way? - AnonBuffalo, on 06/16/2009, -19/+26So I am guessing I am the only one that laughed then.

- WasabiBomb, on 06/16/2009, -1/+7Sorry, just can't take you seriously, since you blame the messenger rather than the message.
Oh, and just curious... can you name a single news source you'd say doesn't have an agenda? - jamesdew, on 06/16/2009, -1/+6How is that relevant this picture is still racist.
- WNW3, on 06/16/2009, -0/+5You should give us an idea then. Enlighten the masses! (I'm not being sarcastic BTW)
- voyetra8, on 06/16/2009, -1/+6Here you go: http://wonkette.com/409193/latest-republican-racis ...
- 0tis, on 06/16/2009, -1/+6This kind of thing does get blown out of proportion. People assume that all Republicans think this way, but that's not the point. The point is that there are still people who think this way, and not only that - some of them are in government.
In my opinion, however, kingnova is right to point out that the vast majority of such incidents seem to come from members of the Republican party at the moment. That's not an indictment of Republicanism, it's an indictment of the politicians who are dragging down into the mud not only the party's image but its policies. - inkubusfan, on 06/16/2009, -1/+6I think it's funny that rants like yours are consistently full of spelling errors. it's just ironic and something I kinda look forward to because I always know I can count on them being there. thanks buddy!
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -5/+9but they're words (in this case CAPITALIZED) meant to incite runaway feelings about the situation, just like the words conservatives use to rally their people into denying climate change, or demonizing abortion, etc.. we react to their headlines like 'what the hell is wrong with them, look how crazy they're getting' - so if the words to describe the story don't properly relay the sentiments, nothing breaks through to the other side. i'm liberal, but that stupid email doesn't disgust me. or maybe it does on a certain level, but not to the point i'm going to make it a headline when many more really disgusting things exist. it was juvenile and indicative of what types of people should not be in any position of power.
this really isn't a big argument i have going for me, and i guess i didn't expect many here on digg to relate, but i'm almost as sick of leftist headlines as i am of the far right headlines. - btour99, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4I think he/she is being sarcastic. At least I hope thats the case...
- chadsexingtime, on 06/16/2009, -5/+9He's the first invisible president?
- CoreyHalliwell, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4If letterman wants to make fun of the Palins, he can go for it. They are *****.
- Satualanus69, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4Im glad my tax payer dollars pays for racist jokes and lettuce smoking
F%$k you congress and their over paid staff! - 0tis, on 06/16/2009, -1/+5I'm with RobertCrumby. I'm appalled by the level of racism on show here, but I don't think putting the word "DISGUSTING" in the headline helped at all. Maybe I'd feel differently if it hadn't been so TERRIBLY capitalised.
- origamistars, on 06/16/2009, -12/+16I'm so proud of the state I grew up in!
Hence "the state I grew up in" and not "the state I continue to live in". - TheEggAndI, on 06/16/2009, -3/+7good question. why dont we ask bush, who started the massive government spending?
oh but we cant do that, we have to blame obama for trying to finish the ***** job that bush and cheney started, just like iraq. - snafflepaffle, on 06/16/2009, -1/+5Just because you've seen worse doesn't mean you should tolerate any of it...
- snafflepaffle, on 06/16/2009, -2/+6Making jokes about being a poor public speaker is WAY different that making jokes about the color of your skin. You weren't born a poor public speaker, you can probably change being a poor public speaker...
- Qraal, on 06/16/2009, -4/+8Me and my TWO, BLACK, democratic, totally pro-Oba(ma) office mates got a good chuckle out of it. People need to lighten up (no pun intended) a little bit. Sure it probably wasn't proper to send it using gov't resources, but race won't stop being an issue until people stop making race an issue.
- MattB123, on 06/16/2009, -5/+9Awesome. The GOP does a better job of exposing themselves than anyone else ever could.
- bamatime, on 06/16/2009, -1/+5Buried for "uberliberal".
- cJw314, on 06/16/2009, -1/+5Bush was an idiot and general asshat by choice.
