- c0mputar, on 10/02/2008, -7/+122Not even a child would forgive the americans if they elect Mccain over Obama.
- MediaWeasel, on 10/02/2008, -5/+79Great piece. I've always been impressed by Obama's statesmanship and his calmness. McCain just gets angrier and more unstable.
- bluevillage, on 10/02/2008, -5/+73Isn't it nice when you can write well of a man -- have a president who's praiseworthy? If you want to know why the media, or at least journalists, like Obama, this is why.
- mishelly888, on 10/02/2008, -4/+49I'm pretty sure all respect would be lost around the world if Mccain and Palin were chosen to run the country. America, please make the right choice.
- kingofinternet, on 10/02/2008, -3/+44time to bring this one out again:
http://punditkitchen.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/p ... - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -4/+42There's no way McCain will win a legitimate election. The problem is, we have no idea how much the Republican Crime Family is willing to cheat to hold on to power.
If McCain is declared the winner, we're going to need help from around the world to reverse the coup. - dBass, on 10/02/2008, -4/+38McCain is like a rare isotope - unstable.
This angry, unstable, ***** cannot be allowed to be anywhere near nuclear launch codes. - macballer30, on 10/03/2008, -3/+36When I watched the debate I desperately wanted Obama to yell at McCain and tell him to stop his childish antics, but he's bigger than that. When you take a step back and look at how he has handled himself throughout this entire process, it really makes you appreciate him just that much more. He is truly "PRESIDENTIAL" in how he acts, how he carries himself and in how he treats friends and foes alike.
VOTE FOR HIM! - oldgal, on 10/02/2008, -3/+31It's Obama's Kansas grandparents. When we were out of line as children we got sent to Grandmother's finishing school (our term) for a week. There we learned the hard way: "don't disparage other people because they are different from you or disagree with you"; "don't wear your heart on you sleeve"; "don't make excuses"; "big boys don't cry"; "big girls don't cry"; "a gentleman wouldn't..."; "a lady wouldn't..."; "don't lay all your cards on the table"; "when there is an emergency stay calm and think your way through it", "work hard"...etc.
Obama was a much better student than we were. - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+26
Being accurate about the GOP's politicians, tactics, & policies is not bashing.
- dBass, on 10/02/2008, -11/+33McCain is like a rare isotope. This angry, unstable, ***** cannot be allowed anywhere near launch codes.
- Viperidae, on 10/02/2008, -2/+22I propose 5th November for that day.
- dinot, on 10/02/2008, -0/+20My bag of pretzels is impressed at how twisted your comment was.
- tomasaur, on 10/03/2008, -2/+22I like Obama because he's smarter and calmer than I am. He thinks clearly under pressure, and he seeks counsel from a variety of people. He doesn't start with his preconceived ideas and surround himself with people who amplify these ideas, like the neocons do. The problem with the fundamentalists is that they are not interested in nuance and shading, and they are not willing to let anyone change their minds, so they don't truly seek out and listen to dissenting opinion. That's fine for church but, well, we've seen the results when you give them the keys to America's power.
- DeskFlyer, on 10/02/2008, -2/+21Tell them to stop lying and it will stop.
- NoDrama, on 10/02/2008, -2/+20I don't think we're bashing Republicans - but a lot of people are exercising their right of free speech in reaction to McCain's provocations and prevarications.
- brianpeiris, on 10/03/2008, -0/+18I'd like to say I'm impartial, heck I live in Canada, but Obama is just so classy.
Here's to an America I can respect, to a nation that does not panic or fear, but reasons and solves.
Go on Obama, brush those shoulders off:

- Me0wmix, on 10/03/2008, -2/+17Whenever I see McCain talking, it feels as if there is lots of hot air blowing in the room.
- nernie, on 10/02/2008, -2/+17Can we finally agree that Obama is our guy? Now we just need to make sure we follow through. Please everybody, make sure you vote
http://make.ourpledgetovote.com/ - dinot, on 10/02/2008, -4/+19Pffft. Child? Even a retarded monkey with one arm and four ***** would be laughing at us.
- macballer30, on 10/03/2008, -5/+18The retarded monkey with one arm and four ***** would probably not be laughing because he's the type of individual voting for McCain.
- thal3s, on 10/03/2008, -0/+12They've bashed this country into the gutter for 8 years and bashed my my fracking civil rights beyond recognition.
***** them. Run these stories everyday until they're driven from every office in D.C. - tastypaste, on 10/03/2008, -0/+11That's what really impressed me about Obama very early on. He took a barrage of lies and slander that would have had most politicians foaming at the mouth with indignation and rage. But Obama stood steady and firm. He calmly debunked the rumors and false accusations. He never lost his temper or his composure. It was almost superhuman how composed he was. That's presidential character.
- itswhatson, on 10/02/2008, -1/+11But it's almost as if they've had to relearn how to do it...
- tastypaste, on 10/03/2008, -0/+10Hey, you're the ones who think a guy who doesn't know Spain is our ally and a NATO member, ought to be our Commander in Chief.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -4/+14Mccain is angry because ooze is coming out his old body.
- ErickStevenson, on 10/03/2008, -0/+10A quote from Lil John... "WHAT?"
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -1/+11I don't understand how anyone could want that man to have the codes to our nukes... it's insane.
- Taiyoryu, on 10/03/2008, -0/+9This is what some refer to as tough love. All this bashing you're referring to is the backlash in reaction to the neocons. We want the Republicans of old to come back. The Republicans that were SENSIBLY conservative. The Republicans that understood that spending cuts go along with tax cuts. The Republicans that stood for tempered patriotism, not blind, overzealous nationalism. Republicans that know that military action is your last option, not your first, and certainly not a means of intimidation. We want Republicans to clean house, and that's why you see the harsh criticism. We want sensible conservatism to temper progressive liberalism. Where liberalism is about pushing the boundaries, we want conservatism to keep us anchored.
- dinot, on 10/02/2008, -2/+11That would be fair if they were just a dance troupe instead of a political party that has the power to make decisions on where this country is going.
- mymoustache, on 10/02/2008, -4/+13in "Democratic" America, Republicans bash YOU
- Ravatar, on 10/03/2008, -0/+9Be careful what you wish for, we might be coming to liberate you next.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -1/+10and may the FSM save us all if Palin gets a hold of them...
- Detritus2099, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9You see, from the perspective of someone who is not American and not voting, you are absolutely correct - about the statesman and televangelist that is. You just seem to have them confused. McCain is the televangelist - he is shouty, denounces people that disagree with him and abuses religion for his own means. Obama is the statesman - he is cool, calm and collected. He maintains his perspective and doesn't get swept up in panic. He is willing to take advice.
The rest of the world implores Americans to choose the better man come election day. - thal3s, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8What a sorry argument. How does this "kool aid" work? If i dont watch Fox News, am i on the kool aid, or b/c i'm on Digg?
So in your mind, people don't actually look at policies and calculate what each candidate is saying and what they actually will do, how the war impacts them, who really fights for the middle class, etc.?
Maybe in your mind, but not most of ours. I'm voting the guy who has a published plan to end the war and get us on green energy. kool aid be damned.
Palin just said we're not leaving Iraq anytime soon and they have no published definition of "victory" in Iraq, so anyone with a clue should think, "Hmm. We're never leaving Iraq if Republicans are in charge" - mtbterain, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9excuse me...if there mas a monkey with 4 *****...i beleive he would be dam popular,
anyways, he would vote obama
obama/biden ftw - doubledmateo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8Oh man, I know what you mean. I don't know how that guy keeps such good composure, because I was yelling profanities several times when McCain was making unsubstantiated claims about Obama's political record and other nonsense.
I'm much more impressed with Obama's coolness, and his willingness to work with others. The last thing I want is a president with a "my way or the highway" kind of attitude, because we've had that for the last 8 years and it freakin' sucked. - mrbrill, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8Since apparently you use your brain to evaluate a candidate, can you move down to US, become a US citizen, and register to vote please?
- SpinningHead, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7Check out what the founder of Netscape said about Obama
http://blog.pmarca.com/2008/03/an-hour-and-a-h.htm ... - Dreamzville, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7To Poovey... Is that the best you can do? Pretty sad.
- thal3s, on 10/03/2008, -1/+8Ok, sparky. The "statesman -vs- televangelist" thing is a red herring.
Barack is getting us the ***** out of Iraq in 16 months. He flew over and talked to Maliki this summer, and then magically Maliki comes out and says, "Yes, please leave!" They dont want us there, Bush and the GOP do, and they're trying hard to sign long-term agreements and permanent bases. Anyway...
POLICIES are what matter now.
* New jobs? McCain says "tax cuts bring jobs". *****. Creating 5M new green energy jobs is the way to go, Barack's got that.
* Ending the war? Dont even ask, we know who is there for 100 years and who is there for 1+.
* Capturing Bin Laden: The GOP wont even mention his name. They are kept in office by fear. No way they want Bin Laden caught. Your guys arent questioning no-bid contracts and 700B baliouts when you're ***** your pants all the time.
The list goes on.
NO MORE D-STUDENTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!! - cmootoo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7You lost me at maverick...nobody told me that maverick now means angry and confused.
- Blydchyld, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7There has never been a election that is more critical to the safety and welfare of the whole planet, Please America, Vote Obama.
- sugarazor, on 10/03/2008, -2/+8The debate where Sarah Palin didn't answer a single question that was asked and then smugly celebrated her ignorance by stating "I'm not going to answer the question! HMPH!"
Yeah, real winner there. - sevenhelmets, on 10/03/2008, -0/+6.....now if I know I dropped it here somewhere.....where did it go.....damn eye, always loosing my one eye......
