- rondigg1, on 06/10/2008, -6/+10Big if, there. This publisher isn't interested in the truth, or it wouldn't have printed the much debunked Swift Vets attacks on Kerry. This definition of the art form from Wikipedia is as good as any: Swiftboating is American political jargon that is used as a strong pejorative description of some kind of attack that the speaker considers unfair or untrue—for example, an ad hominem attack or a smear campaign.
The point is that Regnery will not bother to muckrake some reasonably verifiable objective truth. The point is that a smear merchant is ramping up to destroy Obama's reputation and character with anything it can use, including particularly innuendo, lies, etc. Now that you know that, would you still ask what's so bad about this? - mmmmmbiscuits, on 06/11/2008, -1/+5Tangaroa, I'm still waiting for John "dishonorable discharge" Kerry to debunk the claims made in the book. Wasn't he also going to file a big libel suit, etc. etc.? All bluster... He couldn't even live up to his promise to release his full military records to the public! Mr. Heinz obviously did the math and decided that keeping his safe Senate seat was more important than exposing his shameful record and LOSING a public legal battle with the Swift Boat Veterans.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -1/+4No. He's definitely a carter.
- dBass, on 06/10/2008, -6/+8The times have changed: Sen. Obama is no John Kerry, Irag War quagmire, McSame is a joke, Economy is in the toilet (McSame flushes it), and Sen. Obama is no John Kerry.
- newton21989, on 06/10/2008, -7/+9If it exposes the truth, whatever it may be, what is so bad about it?
- rondigg1, on 06/11/2008, -2/+2Say it three times real loud, in CAPS, and maybe you'll get people to believe it. Same tactic as the SWV.
But if you're feeling argumentative, perhaps you'd be willing to step up and argue with your John McCain, who said "I think the ad is dishonest and dishonorable. As it is none of these individuals served on the boat (Kerry) commanded. Many of his crewmates have testified to his courage under fire. I think John Kerry served honorably in Vietnam."
You can find it here: http://www.factcheck.org/article231.html Along with some other things you might find interesting. They're called "facts." - rondigg1, on 06/11/2008, -2/+1Say it three times real loud, in CAPS, and maybe you'll get people to believe it. Same tactic as the SWV.

Obama has surrounded himself with crooks and bigots so anything that comes out now will be no surprise. - IrishJoe, on 06/10/2008, -5/+1Hmmm. Why it was only yesterday that they were saying that the Swift Boaters were going to go after McCain and here's their publisher going after Obama instead. Imagine my surprise.
- Tangaroa, on 06/11/2008, -6/+2You missed the part about them being the Swift Boat publishers. Regnery's authors do not try to expose the truth, they make stuff up to condemn their political opponents for.
- actorboy, on 06/10/2008, -6/+1You got that righ...Oh wait, I thought you said Bush.
