It is the intent and purpose of these rules to encourage and allow the broadest possible participation of all voters in Republican Party activities at all levels and to assure that the Republican Party is open and accessible to all Americans...."

Paul Perry announces for State Republican Party Chairman
With the hope of allowing grassroots conservatives to have a meaningful voice in the Republican Party, Paul D. Perry of Ellis County today announced that he will run for state chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.
Perry, who is an investments manager and a mediator, has been active in the Republican Party since his college days at Baylor University. Throughout roughly 30 years of political activism, Perry has championed conservative principles.
As a student, he was a member, state board member and Baylor chairman of the Young Conservatives of Texas. He has worked phone banks, contributed money, delivered campaign materials, put out yard signs, and more to help elect conservative candidates. He and other conservative Republicans founded the Conservative Voters League of Ellis County to help promote conservative candidates and educate the community regarding current events and conservative ideals. Perry has been a member of the Greater Dallas Pachyderm Club for a number of years.
Recently, he and others have been at the forefront in opposing the Trans-Texas Corridor. His vocal opposition helped convince the Ellis County Commissioners’ Court to pass a resolution requesting that the Texas legislature review its commitment to the Trans-Texas Corridor. He has also traveled around the state organizing with others and speaking on the unfairness of our appraisal system.
He enters this race with the hope of continuing that trend of pushing conservative issues such as protecting property rights, limiting government interference and taxation, and upholding the sanctity of life.
"My intention as chairman of the Republican Party of Texas is to make the will of the grassroots known to our officeholders and to assist in strengthening the Republican Party in a manner that will make the grassroots proud," he said. "I want to set a high standard for following the rule of the Republican Party and for operating as transparently as possible."
Perry has been a frequent delegate to Republican Party of Texas state conventions, and he has served as a senate district caucus chairman and a congressional district caucus chairman at past state conventions.
Within his local party, Perry has served in many capacities. He has been a vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Ellis County, a precinct chairman, and a committee member and committee chair at multiple county conventions. Perry has volunteered for and contributed to the campaigns of many Republican candidates at the local, state and national level.
Perry also was elected to office as a Republican candidate, serving as Ellis County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, in the 1990s.
Perry resides in rural Ellis County with his wife of 25 years, Rebecca, and their eight children.
