- morningmatters, on 01/23/2008, -23/+291Now, can we finally say "Bush lied, people died" without getting buried?
- principle, on 01/23/2008, -20/+214Enough studying these criminals! I want to see sum justice!
- derek20cali, on 01/23/2008, -24/+200Shocking.
- barkus, on 01/23/2008, -8/+141"The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period."
935.... wow!
If a CEO of a company behaved this way he would almost certainly be fired and possibly charged (if damages occurred as a result). Why does the president of the USA have no accountability? - Groovemaster, on 01/23/2008, -9/+124When a study confirms Bush ever told the truth, let me know.
- sobe86, on 01/23/2008, -8/+115In other news, a new study confirms that bears do in fact ***** in the woods.
- joewo, on 01/23/2008, -12/+96And this is posted on FOXnews.com too. Send it to your right winger friends whose heads are collectively in the sand because (for them) if it is on FOX it has GOT to be true....right??
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,324753,00.html - FutureGuy, on 01/23/2008, -14/+94really? never thought he could lie.
//if sarcasm is not obvious pour some cold water over your head - sherm420, on 01/23/2008, -7/+77What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. Bertrand Russell
- overtoke, on 01/23/2008, -6/+69The only shocking part is that there is actually a news article about it.
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -9/+65Dugg so information would spread.
- PunkRampant, on 01/23/2008, -9/+61The significance of this story is not in the information which we already know - but rather, the way it is presented. This story is on the front page of multiple outlets right now, and if it gets picked up by the 24-hour stations, we could be looking at a widespread call for impeachment. The snowball has started its way down the hill.
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -7/+58Just wait until the republican Digg machine gets going and soon you'll see a 'possibly reported as being false' appear above this article.
- jaymzdean, on 01/23/2008, -10/+61Message to all Democrats:
Your "leaders" have voted for war, and taken impeachment off the table.
Have a good day. - InetRoadkill, on 01/23/2008, -4/+52If they had only bothered to check the facts before we went to war, we'd be in a lot better shape. It wasn't like it was any secret he was lying his ass off.
And for the record, Bush is lying his ass off about Iran. Let's not get suckered into yet another war. - Berkana, on 01/23/2008, -3/+48Fool me once, shame on. . . shame on you. . . fooled me, can't get fooled again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A - mikelieman, on 01/23/2008, -12/+57Well, now all we need is an HONEST United States Attorney to present the evidence to a Grand Jury.
We could have indictments and arrest warrants for Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, et al. by suppertime.
"Could the Secret Service guys please hold them until the US Marshals show up to take custody. Super." - Berkana, on 01/23/2008, -2/+38Because of the ***** spineless Democrats. They are just as responsible for the mess we're in through their passivity towards his abuses. AND the ***** blindly loyal Republicans. Staunch loyalty is NOT a virtue. When in doubt, choose country over party. Too bad they were never troubled to doubt.
- midoritsuru, on 01/23/2008, -3/+38I just love how they can't even say the word "lies"...he made "false statements"...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VaB1psXTjS4 - DooM, on 01/23/2008, -8/+42Wow, that is the most pathetic attempt at trolling I've seen all year.
- SenorCardgage74, on 01/23/2008, -5/+39Ya know what? Shut your ***** mouth.
I am sick of you ***** ***** trying to play coy about the fact that you got on board with this jingoistic ***** back in 02 and 03.
I remember people like you from that time.
You didnt want debate.
You didnt want to hear evidence to the contrary (and there was TONS of it)
You wanted flag lapel pins.
You wanted CGI F-15s worked in with your news channel logos.
You wanted Toby Keith and his Leni Reifenstahl halftime show.
***** all of you *****.
It was plainly obvious to anyone without an ass helmet that we were getting suckered into a ***** war.
If youre too dumb or too partisan to see that, you shouldnt be allowed to vote. - Dumbledorito, on 01/23/2008, -0/+33Largely because this one seems to have no shame.
It's incredible how much damage you're allowed to do in politics if you won't even admit to yourself that you've become a factory that produces nothing but criminal *****. It's kind of like those cartoons where the character doesn't fall until he looks down. - inactive, on 01/23/2008, -6/+39No? Because I'm sure you will be able to explain away all of those 935 lies, right? Your time starts now.
- davemartin7777, on 01/23/2008, -15/+47Clinton lied once about sex.
- vanguardanon, on 01/23/2008, -6/+38What bothers me most is that most people see a story like this and think, "Yeah whatever, that's old news."
This isn't something you simply forgive and move on. He should be on trial. He should be impeached. This war should be ended. - omenmedia, on 01/23/2008, -5/+34This just in, humans need oxygen to live.
- gummih, on 01/23/2008, -6/+31Well, a lot of sarcasm here and maybe no wonder. But we shouldn't dismiss this with "so what else is new?" This IS important, those are not just lies, these are lies that led to the death of HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people - including 3931 troops killed, 28.770 wounded!! And I don't even know the numbers for all the contractors.
Please read the article - and keep in mind the staggering consequences of these lies. - trotskyist, on 01/23/2008, -1/+25Bears hate our freedom; regularly defile our nations natural beauty. Possible link to Bin Laden?
More @ 11:00 - m4lomb, on 01/23/2008, -18/+41I demand the end of the WAR ON TERROR. I also DEMAND that G.W.Bush and Cheney be ARRESTED. I am not asking. I am DEMANDING.
- kilroy0097, on 01/23/2008, -3/+25And they moved to impeach him. Obviously getting a BJ in the Oval Office is a much greater offense than starting a War that takes American lives based upon lies and false motives. Obviously... Jan 2009 can't come soon enough.
- Arkaris01, on 01/23/2008, -0/+22I doubt it, the Democrats don't have the balls to impeach the President... (taking a look at the House Leader is a good example)
- BrookeMarks, on 01/23/2008, -12/+34"Try Yahoo News; now with more journalism!"
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -16/+37Everytime there's a story about how the Bush administration lied and cheated to get to power, to start wars, to pass bills and basically pretty much everything they do, Americans start taking sides and accusing each other, this is espescially apparent on Digg.
You're all guilty. There isn't one side that did this. All sides participated to this.
The only person in the world, the only person in the Universe to have balls large enough to present an impeachment resolution and formally accuse the vice-president of war crimes and treason, among other things, was completely silenced by Congress who voted overwelmingly in favor of not even talking about the resolution. It's off the table.
The entire Congress, aside from RP and Kucinich, was duped by the lies of Bush and co. Kucinich, again, was the only person in the universe with balls large enough to try and do anything about it at the time. He called those lies, lies when everybody was calling them facts (aside for the entire world, the united nations and pretty much any mammal with a brain). He tried to delay the vote so Congress could get more information to decide. Real information.
So don't try and blame this on each other. You are all to blame. Except for Kucinich. - mOdQuArK, on 01/23/2008, -2/+22Dunno if the study points it out, but at least a few of the statements that Bush has made occurred after it was documented that he received intelligence reports refuting those statements. In those cases, at the very least you can confidently say that Bush was ignoring any information contrary to the message he wanted to deliver. It's not much of a stretch of psychology to think that such a person isn't going to care if they have any basis in fact for his other statements.
- Dumbledorito, on 01/23/2008, -0/+19And 10% fewer employees: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080123/wr_nm/yahoo_dc ...
- bonmot5, on 04/08/2009, -4/+23Again, I'm a conservative. The Democrat/Republican thing is just idiotic. Bush has cured me of a bad case of tunnel vision. The audacity of anyone that is still defending this criminal administration. It's just laughable!
- Dumbledorito, on 01/23/2008, -1/+20Why are you here when there are vacancies in our nation's judicial system?
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -3/+21Google February 15, 2003
It's not "hindsight" when we told you before the illegal invasion. - EricMiIIer, on 07/10/2009, -4/+22@didiman.... and 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
- fraglessone, on 01/23/2008, -2/+19Do we really need a study to tell us this? I thought this was understood from day one.
- Morac, on 01/23/2008, -1/+18Except even at that time people were saying there was no evidence Iraq had ties to al-Qaida and there was little if any evidence of WMD in Iraq. In fact a number of weapon inspectors said that it was highly unlikely there were any WMDs. Other countries said the same thing, but Bush would not back down, basically told Congress to declare war, which they did since at that time Congress did anything Bush said and that as they say was that.
- martalli, on 01/23/2008, -3/+20If this systematic lying to the people was illegal, then officials in the administratyion should be heading to jail, including impeachment hearing on Bush and Cheney. If in fact this was not illegal, it is high time to pass legislation that would have made this behavior illegal. One might argue that sometimes information should be hidden...but we have been led to a war that has lasted for years, cost billions (trillions?), resulted in tens of thousand of casualties and dead on our side and hundreds of thousands if not millions dead on the other side...ALL OVER LIES. I honestly think this sounds like treason, but I think Bush should have his day in court. to explain himself.
- Scottamus, on 01/23/2008, -3/+19"Bush DID something"
I believe that was has '04 campaign platform. "You may not like his policy but you know where he stands." One of the most idiotic reasons to elect someone but obviously a lot of people fell for it and apparently some still do. - offspring06, on 01/23/2008, -8/+23Bush stands for fear and death.
- SevenTwo, on 01/23/2008, -1/+16This just in: Water is wet.
- Dumbledorito, on 01/23/2008, -2/+17The nice thing about their heads being in the sand is that nobody gets hit from the shrapnel when they finally explode.
- swrostmore, on 01/23/2008, -1/+15the facts were being fixed to fit the policy, we know that from a leaked British memo. It is no longer possible to claim "bad information" when the Administration was actively altering raw intel with the goal of justifying the invasion.
- Delphium226, on 01/23/2008, -2/+16If it means an idiot like you hearing for the 5 millionth time how you found yourself on the wrong side of history, I'm all for hearing it another 5 million times.
Suck on it. - yojiffyskippy, on 01/23/2008, -2/+16Could we please raise the bar above "Do Something"?
- TheSwashbuckler, on 01/23/2008, -2/+16Actually, hindsight is not 20/20. Bush still thinks he did the right thing.
