dailykos.com — Columbus, OH, was looking forward to John McCain's Town Hall Sunday morning at the Great Southern Theater. McCain did not show, choosing instead to appear in Washington. Hundreds of people were told to arrive by 7:30 Sunday morning to get through security, and they did. Supposedly an email went out to tell them about the last-minute ditch, but...?

Maybe when he said he would cancel his appearance at the debate unless the bailout package was finished, he thought he was talking about this town hall event. And that's why he showed up in Oxford, Mississippi -- without apologizing to anyone that night for keeping them on tenterhooks for half a week and almost costing them $5.5 million.
