- bluevillage, on 10/12/2008, -0/+17Biden and Obama come across as warm and genuine. The McCain's, especially Cindy, as cold and phony. Biden's laughter at the SNL parody of him -- shown on TV last week -- was contagious; it invited people to laugh with him. Biden and Obama yukking it up with each other at the end of the mini-documentary of the behind-the-scenes events at the Democratic convention was wonderful. McCain's jokes are either sadistic or mannered. Obama and Biden both have mega-watt smiles that are as contagious as a yawn. This is one reason why Obama's and Biden's likability ratings are so much higher than McCain's.
- katagana, on 10/12/2008, -0/+16Biden has shown a lot of character in his life, he seems a kind and honest man. Also to me he sounds like an excellent VP!
- peace1970, on 10/13/2008, -0/+13I've always admired Joe Biden, but this article really shows the kind of great guy he really is....what a touching and refreshing read.....looking forward to Joe for VP!!
Obama/Biden!! - JenniferInMO, on 10/14/2008, -0/+12FTA:
"After his tears, and after the debate, I went into my voluminous files to see if my recollection of Biden's dark days of 1972 matched the honorable and loving family man I had just witnessed on the stage in St. Louis. If my memory had any weakness, it was in not recalling the full promise and shattered life of the freshman senator from Delaware who, in the winter of his own despair, took the time to write a 15-year-old, while taking on his new duties in Washington D.C. and at home in Wilmington as a single father of two. So while McCain and Palin do their best to undermine the Democrats trustworthiness and character, let us praise the family man from Delaware who could and should be our next vice president."
Comparing the humanity, empathy and integrity of Joe Biden to Sarah Palin isn't even necessary. His picture must be in the book under the definition of the term "stand up guy." - skatoolaki, on 10/14/2008, -0/+9This made me cry.
- theaphro, on 10/15/2008, -0/+5You can't wear a heart that big on a mere sleeve or pin it to a lapel. Character is the only adequate canvas. Deeds the only brush. You can't hang it for display on the gallery wall or in a flickering box. That kind of heart only renders true when it shines through a person's being. I'm sorry that it takes such heart rending pain for we who would judge him to notice it. But I'm thankful to be able to see it in the man whom I hope will be our next Vice President.
- chosenson, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5Joe Biden is the greatest!! Fire in his gut and a huge heart.
You Go, Joe! - tripandfall06, on 10/15/2008, -0/+1Reading Biden's note brought tears to my eyes. Obama puts hope in my heart.
Better things are coming.
