- dagr8tim, on 10/10/2007, -5/+33What I love is that she is running to impeach bush (as one of her stated goals). But by the time she would be elected & sworn in, he will no longer be in office. Way to think that one through Cindy.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -16/+40Congress has the power to immediately stop funding the war and to bring the troops home but Pelosi sold out the American people. Now that she has traded her dignity for her "thirty pieces of silver," Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is quickly gaining admiration from the American people.
- nsummy, on 10/10/2007, -11/+33Cindy Sheehan went from a respectable mother fighting for a cause to a complete lunatic. I'm just as against this war as everyone else but you are not going to get elected to replace Pelosi solely because you want to end the war and impeach Bush. Especially when she is up for reelection when Bush's term is ending.
- dattaway, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21stay on topic you fanboy. we are all well aware your mentioned candidate is running.
- therightside, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Did sheehan not get the memo? Her 15 minutes are up.
- urluckyday, on 10/10/2007, -6/+14I don't know who you polled, but to most people, she's more of an annoyance than anything. Sure, she's passionate, but the fact that she is just so outspoken and gets arrested every month is more annoying that admirable.
- BlackTye, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Totally Agree.
- readme, on 10/10/2007, -12/+18Sheehan proves that the root of her anger is not the death of her son but her hatred for Bush. She needs therapy, not an impeachment.
One more thing. When you enlist in the military, you're agreeing to put your life on the line for your country. Wartime or peacetime. Just war or unjust war. Her son knew this signing up. It's time she realizes it. - it5five, on 10/10/2007, -27/+32Why do Ron Paul spammers have to infiltrate every ***** digg with their *****.
I hate Ron Paul, and no, before some of you accuse me, I don't get my information from the MSM. I know exactly what Ron Paul stands for, and he is a ***** terrible candidate.
Vote for Kucinich. - ian87, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9If this impeachment movement continues to gain traction, efforts should be focused on removing Cheney, not Bush. There would be a better chance of actually indicting Cheney after the impeachment.
- aikimann, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7I think we can all agree that all the democrats and liberals really want Bush impeached, and Sheehan does too. So, keeping that in mind, can we go at least an hour without the same recycled stories hitting the front page?
(FYI, I think Bush is doing a ***** job, and can't wait till 2008) - noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Passion is a dangerous thing without sense and restraint.
- CZzyzx41, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4What concerns me is that people think that impeachment means his removal from office. Have we all forgotten Bill Clinton?
- raitchison, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12I hate Dubya as much as the next guy but to Impeach him based on our dislike of him would be a bigger attack on the constitution than anything that he has done.
- tinybirds, on 10/10/2007, -9/+13get off of ron paul's dick already,
- raitchison, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Of course because regulated everything and making sure only the rich can send their kids to good schools is working out so well.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4BOOOOOOOO! we are tired of hearing about RON PAUL! so what if hes the only freaking guy running for president who wants to help us, so what if he is the only one pushing for true liberties!
lets get more fascists and communists in office hear hear! - Spoomeister, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I thought she decided to give up politics a few weeks ago? Oh, right: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18919775/
Guess she's done "going home and being normal'! - aikimann, on 10/10/2007, -8/+11Why do liberals like you infiltrate every ***** digg with YOUR *****?
Vote for someone you think will do the best job, and leave it at that. - ian87, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5"running amok," dude
- jebudas, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I think some people are so cowardly that they see Cindy Sheehan's bravery as insane. She is one of the very few people in this country that are actually standing up and fighting.
+ A reporter interviewing A.J. Muste, who during the Vietnam War stood in front of the White House night after night with a candle, one rainy night asked, "Mr. Muste, do you really think you are going to change the policies of this country by standing out here alone at night with a candle?" Muste replied, "Oh, I don't do it to change the country, I do it so the country won't change me". - noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3No, and no.
- raitchison, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I think he's an arrogant bastard too but last I checked we can't impeach him for that, we need like evidence of like, a crime.
- endgame, on 10/10/2007, -19/+22Sheehan is a loon!
- Gerz1219, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2There are many reasons not to vote for Kucinich that have nothing to do with his eating habits. Why dismiss a candidate out of hand because of their diet?
- kflasch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Umm.. I think she would run as an independent since she's running *against* a Democrat.
- Jaymoon, on 10/10/2007, -11/+13And I want Sheehan to shut up... Guess neither one of us is going to get our wish.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think you've wrapped that foil too tight.
- CZzyzx41, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4***** John McCain! Wait...DON'T ***** John McCain. The last thing we need is little hims running around.
- dforty3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Forget not liking him as the reason. How about the illegal domestic spying, the nullifying of Habeas Corpus, and the other illegal executive orders he signed such as the one giving him dictatorial powers upon the next catastrophic event (even if it doesn't even happen in the US) and all the lies he's told and continues to tell? How about the secret signing of an executive order giving him the power to declare martial law without a governor's consent. This is not tit for tat. This is protecting the Constitution and the American way of life.
You need to check out some history... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1251628960376247583&q=when+democracy+failed&hl=en
These things have happened before and we are doomed to repeat history if people don't turn off the corporate media who have enabled and ignored this. - Nighttime, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I think most republicans want the impeachment process to move forward. Talk about a way to energize their base, let all the independents see Cindy force this forward. Lets see who is really in charge of the Democrat party.
- mwolfzorn, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Senator Gravel supports the FairTax proposal that calls for eliminating the Internal Revenue Service and the income tax and replacing it with a progressive national sales tax [...]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Mike_Gravel#Taxation
There is only one entity in the U.S. that pays taxes: the individual. Businesses and corporations do not, they merely collect taxes from consumers of their products and pass on the taxes to the government. The Fair Tax proposal calls for eliminating the IRS and the Income Tax and replacing it with a progressive national Sales Tax on new products and services. To compensate for necessities, such as food, lodging, clothing, etc there would be a “prebate” to reimburse taxpayers for the taxes paid on necessities.
http://www.gravel2008.us/issues#fair_tax
And I think Gravel has a better shot of getting elected than Ron Paul - dmcbride6, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Alot of people see her as being passionate about the wrong reasons though.
- Gerz1219, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I'm glad this occurred to someone else as well. Also, even if Cindy Sheehan won Pelosi's seat, it's not like she would automatically be elected Speaker of the House. She'd just be another ineffectual member of Congress who'd be whipped into line by Pelosi's establishment replacement.
- eternal464, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4the whole problem with the government is that whatever way a group of people is leaning at the time, they elect a relative extremist to said position. Gee....what are a bunch of extremist that disagree going to accomplish? If you guessed nothing then you win not getting slapped in the head! Anyone who would elect an extremist may very well want to make a point(indeed, a valid one) but you must put rational people in power.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3this whole thread is retarded
so is just about everyone on it
research all the candidates, find out what they are saying, if you have a problem with a candidate and seriously want to discuss it, why dont you state your problem with the candidate! instead of retarded name calling, or 'i hate so and so'.........
i dont know why i even post on digg its full of nothing but retards
kucinich says alot of good things, but i dont think he has the scope of knowledge that ron paul has. hell ron paul and kucinich even vote the same way on alot of things, thats like I HATE KANG! I VOTED FOR KOBOS! except for with good candidates.. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4What makes you think he isn't the one calling the shots right now? Bush has made it quite clear that he's only in it for the Airforce One dinners and diplomatic buffets.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3wow, a startling display if retardation
- Malarie, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6This woman is AT LEAST doing something about the impeachment of your soon-to-be dictator President Bush. Not like many americans who are too busy being entertained..
Can u believe a Canadian said that? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2nice regurgitation
- CZzyzx41, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Why? Ron Paul may have some very attractive foreign plans but his stances on domestic and social issues are really messed up. Have you even read any of that *****?
- rumorsofdemise, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4She might be a lunatic, but damn, atleast she's doing something.
- xBDVx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Yeah, plus she'd have to move to and get California permanent residence before replacing Pelosi. I really doubt people in CA would vote for her. Even if she gets voted into some backwater congressional district, I *really* doubt she would be made Speaker of the House.
- noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Vote for Ron Paul if you want 'they're' officially changed to 'their' foreVAR!
*Illiterates for Ron Paul 08* - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nah, she went from a distraught mother to complete lunatic... And that was before she gained national attention.
- shawgo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol, this is great.
- wookme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I am ashamed to be an American citizen. This country is really messed up.
- Terr01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I dare rip on her however I please. She's a one-trick pony who can't seem to get over trying to perpetually recover her fifteen days of fame. I would like nothing better than Bush's impeachment for breaking constitutional and federal law, but Sheehan is one of the the worst people I would want seen as championing the case.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2A homeless man rummages through your garbage, licking clean a soup can...
"He might be homeless, but damn he's doing SOMETHING." - arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3trer didn't say "before you" as in "in front of". rather "before you" as the child died first, preceeding the parent.
