You need to understand that there is a difference between the political operatives in each party and the voters of each party.
Republican voters can afford to be generous. Most are, at least, middle-class, and more prosperous.
The majority of Democratic voters are impoverished, to lower middle-class. However, the most generous people I've known had the least they could give, but gave the most. Whereas, the least generous are the ones that can afford to give much, but seem to make unfair conditions of what they want in return and have a way of demeaning a person who is going through a tough time. That's been my experience, as is that of many people I've known.
I've done my fair share of waitressing, by the way. It's a thankless job and my worst customers were uptight, self-righteous conservatives that like to be rude to others to make themselves feel superior, including the grab-ass perverts. - yohnstoppable, on 02/05/2008, -2/+27meh, i don't think prostitution should be illegal.
