- Concern2008, on 09/04/2008, -12/+99Now, there's a real woman.
- jsatz23, on 09/04/2008, -11/+94That's because Palin is lying.
- netgui68, on 09/04/2008, -11/+87Here is a real reformer that crosses party lines. She does not give speeches packed with lies because she actually is qualified.
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -8/+75FTA: On Palin's effort to position herself and McCain as reformers, Schultz asked, "Where is the beef? Where is the evidence? Sarah Palin is not a reformer, she is under investigation in her home state for the abuse of power in trying to get a state trooper fired... If her best example of being a reformer was trying to sell a plane on E-Bay, that is not my definition of reform."
Kudos to Schultz also!
Obama/Biden 08! - jeft2k, on 09/04/2008, -7/+58From the camp of "If we say it enough it must be true.." comes the Palin speech. It was nice delivery, full of really personal attacks. Very Republican. Sibelius knows what Governors do...Palin is overhyped to match her new attack babe status. The truth won't come out, and if it did, this country doesn't hear. Great article
- ghostdeck, on 09/04/2008, -7/+56Way to go Gov Sebelius!
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -8/+39I truly admire Gov. Kathleen Sebelius...what a honorable woman.
- huntress58, on 09/04/2008, -10/+37McCain First, Country Last!
- womensgroup, on 09/04/2008, -8/+34Congratulations Ms. Sebeius. Let us hear alot more of your thoughts on the dissed and insults to all Americans - towns and cities on volunteers and her put down and derision
of Community Groups. It/s about the millions of good people in small town America who devote their time year after year. It is about the International community who do good and sometimes put themselves in harms way. She has insulted every community in America - WriterinSac, on 09/04/2008, -4/+29My thoughts exactly. Why and how does a mayor of a town of 7,000 receive such preferential treatment in the form of earmarks? There's stink all over that. It'll be interesting to see the real evidence once Gov. Palin has been thoroughly vetted--by journalists.
- M0HAWK, on 09/04/2008, -5/+28It's wonderful to see exemplary women in politics like Sebelius speak the truth. Palin is neither truthful nor exemplary. Leave it to the Republicans to present a polished former beauty queen as a candidate who'd be completely empty were she not filled with lies and hatred!
- edmondburke, on 09/04/2008, -3/+19Anyone who would fall for that vacuous tirade, deserves MORE OF THE SAME
- grlykool, on 09/04/2008, -5/+20Palin is gone anyway. She cheated on her husband. It is over for her.
- JoeMondo, on 09/04/2008, -5/+19My 3 questions for the GOP:
1. If "executive experience" is all that meaningful, why is McCain and not Palin running for President? (As you ought to know, the VP has no official or direct role in the executive responsibilities of the President.)
2. Why the focus on Palin rather than your actual nominee for President - is it because you need to distract your base with someone they can actually get excited about?
3. Palin spoke much about reform - but given that every branch of the federal government has been dominated by Republicans for most of the last 8 years, what have they done so badly that it needs reform? - deadonbroadway, on 09/04/2008, -5/+19Palin deceiving? Noooooooooo...Say it isn't so......
- sugarazor, on 09/04/2008, -0/+12He was talking about Sebelius.
- razorsedge555, on 09/04/2008, -9/+19Hmmm let's see, a mayor COULD get federal earmarks in a state that is 1) mostly wilderness and, 2) pumps oil into the economy. Neither of which applies to Kansas.
- gweedo767, on 09/04/2008, -9/+19As a Kansas native, that lives in a small town (2000 people, Plainville, KS), that works for a multinational company (www.dessinfournir.com), that has received the Governors Award of Excellence...I gotta say I really like her :)
- sugarazor, on 09/04/2008, -3/+13SQUAWK! REPUBLICAN TALKING POINTS SQUAWK!
"Present" votes are often votes of protest. As for Obama's never managed anything, he sure managed to raise more money than any candidate in history and managed to win the most hotly contested primary in recent history. Funny you say "least experienced in 100 years..." Who was that one inexperienced candidate from awhile back that Republicans love to tout so much? Oh yeah, Lincoln.
If it's not the place for on the job training, why do McCain put Sarah Palin one step away from it? The single most important decision was to not go into Iraq in the first place, but McCain was ranting we invade on September 12. Oh wow, you put 20,000 more troops in a specific area and managed to decrease violence, amazing. McCain has shown poor judgment on EVERY Iraq issue and he'll make us even less safe when he invades Iran and continues his saber rattling against Russia. Oh, but if you just want talking points - how is McCain going to follow bin Laden to the gates of hell when he won't even follow him to a cave?
It's not about Palin's having children, it's about her being the most embarrassing VP pick in the history of this nation. She's a moral crusader that wants to legislate morality, yet she can't even legislate it in her own home. A book-banning, Bible-thumping, hypocrite surrounded by scandals and a flimsy record. She's an embarrassment to have on the national stage and it speaks volumes about McCain's poor judgment. Yeah, he's such a maverick... when he's toeing the line of the far right Evangelical voter. - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -3/+12Yeah, we're scared that idiots will actually vote for this book banning, bible thumping, Bush with a vagina, lying, wasteful disgrace of a human being. It means that people who think are in the minority, and stupid people in large numbers are VERY dangerous.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -3/+11I blocked Quad a long time ago, but I'm going to say it again. This guy is a ***** shill and a waste of space and he isn't going to change his mind even if you showed him facts to counter every single retarded argument he is making. Don't waste your time and don't validate his ego by even responding to him, if you want my opinion.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -8/+15I dislike McCain/Palin as much as anybody, but the Dems and the liberal blogs are completely screwing themselves by giving Palin so much attention. Remember when Obama had that amazing speech a few days ago? Instead of focusing on that historic moment, they've made everyone forget about it by directing every ounce of energy against Palin. Voters are sick of it, and I would expect to see the nice 8 point jump Obama got in the polls quickly dwindle.
- ErickStevenson, on 09/04/2008, -2/+9You kids Get off my lawn!!!!
- ashwinmudigonda, on 09/04/2008, -4/+10I don't see how a bitch who can't tell her daughter how to keep her legs crossed (essentially not teaching her about the "security" of her body and the policies of "foreign issues" (get it? issues)) and not get knocked up can preach to anyone ***** about policies. I hope the Dems go for the jugular on this because THIS is the chink in the armor. Palin is no Hillary. Heck! I would vote for Hillary over Palin if that was a choice and this needs to be made clear as THIS is the only reason the nut was picked. Not for her policies or her conservatism or her ***** about environment and anything her mouth spat yesterday (which, of course, some Bush/Rove lackey wrote).
- FreddieD, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6Wrong. I'm no political analyst, I'm merely looking at modern history. Dan Quayle and Thomas Eagleton are probably considered the worst VP picks this century. Both made the ticket look horrible, and both were crucified by the media at every turn.
The phrase "there is no such thing as bad publicity" only works with movie stars, not politicians. Everybody says they are sick of negative politics, and yes it's feeling old, but negativity wins campaigns. If you don't believe me, ask Swift Boat Kerry or Possible-Illegitimate-Black-Child McCain (the 2000 version). - NovellGuy, on 09/04/2008, -5/+10Living in Kansas all of my life, and voting for her, I agree with her. All the Repub's did was level attacks and offer nothing in terms of solutions to the problems. The Repub's are hypocritical and simply scare "values" voters in to voting for them. They only have two social issues: abortion and gay marriage. Solve those two things, and life will be heaven on earth.
- ErickStevenson, on 09/04/2008, -2/+7LOL the so called "liberal" media is making her out to be the Republican savior.... yah sure, lie to me some more please, wait let me put my America Hat on first!
- voxlisa999, on 09/05/2008, -0/+4NOTE TO IDIOTS WHO BURY AS HUFF POST SPAM; This is from a Conference Call that Congressional Quarterly. Many of the articles you Bury as spam are actually stories that link to other media, like Politico, NYT, AP, or Jon Stewart show or even are stories that are commenting on video from CNN or FOX, etc. Huff Post writes about the stories and pulls different stories together into one. Of course many other articles are columns- but almost all of them use EVIDENCE from other sources to VERIFY.
So, in this case, the CQ transcript was really long and Huff Post took it and wrote a story on it and provided the link. Get it? - StarlessKnight, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4"Note to democrats, if someone isn't qualified enough to beat you, then they won't be able to beat you. Period."
George. W. Bush. Define "qualified enough." Qualified enough to make people think he'll lead America to greatness while having absolutely no plan on how to do it or even, arguably, the will to do so? Remember how he wanted to restore integrity to the White House? Fail. - rald84, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4Alaska First!
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -2/+6I love when people put no name bloggers in Digg titles like we're supposed to know who they are.
How many people saw this and were like OMG SETH COLTER WALLS I LOVE HIS BLOGGINGS!! FAP FAP FAP!!! - viet10, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4superior? did you just not see the RNC? all they did was trash talk. it was like prefight press conference. no substance.
- h3lx, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4Farm subsidies for a group that is a close second to the largest lobby.
four words. "High fructose corn syrup." It's bigger than oil. It's bigger than Jesus. - richbleak, on 09/04/2008, -3/+7bodisatvah: Excellent point. Thank you for saving me 10 minutes.
- ironhide, on 09/04/2008, -6/+10Why do neocons forget that she's the governor of a state with a population barely larger than Portland, Oregon.
- nannyree, on 09/05/2008, -1/+4I'm a moderate Democrat but your right I am afraid of possibly having a President with such extremist right wing views as Sarah Palin, she will set Womens rights back to the dark ages, Anti abortion, believes Iraq war is a test from God, doesn't believe in global warming (and thats with 4 back to back hurricanes threatening our nation), believes in censorship, voted to decrease special ed funding by 67% ,does not care about the environment. She will be President if something happened to John McCain while in office. I'm thinking she actually might be more like George Bush than John McCain!
- StarlessKnight, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Sugarrazor is right. "Our Country would be great if only you gave the GOP a chance!" Excuse us, but it wasn't that long ago the "GOP" controlled Congress (both Houses), the White House, and very nearly the Supreme Court as well. Interesting how having control of practically all three branches THEY STILL FAILED TO DO ANYTHING YOU EXPECTED THEM TO. Interesting. I think that's an understatement.
PS: Neither party is better than the other. Both are made of Humans in a society that is obsessed with money and power. - TheDarkstarter, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3The HuffPo never claimed to be 'fair and balanced' the way FoxNews lies. I don't think the HuffPo ever made any bones about the fact that they lean to a certain perscetive.
- icksturminator, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3You just did.
- Nesh, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3So long, and thank for all the fish!
- Nesh, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3What about those of us that didn't fall for it? Do we deserve more of the same because of those that bought it hook, line, and sinker?
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -2/+5That's my governor!! woohoo! lol
I won a race at our state games, called the Governor's Cup 5K, she's a hottie. haha. - absurdist, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Re junkyjunk:
"A 23 year-old dude from Chicago, IL (US) who joined Digg on September 4th, 2008"
Wow, joined digg today just to boycott it? Forgive my cynicism, but how are you going to get your McCain campaign beanie that way? - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -1/+4So you won't read direct quotes from people because the source? Way to bury your head in the sand. Kill yourself.
- sugarazor, on 09/04/2008, -3/+6Bye, you won't be missed.
The country is ***** up because the Republicans were exclusively in power from 2000 to 2007. And the only smugness I've seen was Palin's hateful, yet completely empty speech last night. Funny she never once mentioned an issue facing the country, open mic night was fun while it lasted, but it proved once again that the Republicans have no platform. - MrHateMan, on 09/04/2008, -2/+5Our country is "f'd up" because of the jerkoffs, suported by the likes of you, that have been running it for while now... good riddance.
...oh and don't drive on any socialists roads on your way out. - ironhide, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3Point taken oldhick. I should be better than they are. Thank you.
- centifuge, on 09/04/2008, -3/+5I hope the PUMAs are happy.
You made the bed, they made the pick.
If 18% of you morons vote for McCrazy and his pet bitch, that just might get them elected.
If that happens - you should all rot in hell.
By the way, where is Hillary Clinton in all this - she should be on the attack.
But she doesn't give a ***** about her party or her ideals, only about her chances in 2012. - sugarazor, on 09/04/2008, -3/+5She has NEVER sent guard troops into battle, that's a federal issue. She has deployed them to fight fires.
As for the rest, it's really a bunch of "SHE'S CLOSE TO RUSSIA!" I guess that means Bush had foreign policy experience since Texas is close to Mexico. Look how well that turned out. - ashwinmudigonda, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2LOL! Now you know how it feels when you keep making Obama's "empty rhetoric" an issue? And by the ***** way, the issue is not because of her daughter it is because of her PARENTING skills...the ability to lead a ***** family, forget the nation. Go puke in your pocket and stay at home this election. please. Enough damage has been done by you in particular the last 2 times.
