- otheruser, on 10/11/2007, -3/+153A step in the right direction...
- chicagobiker, on 10/11/2007, -3/+69Wow, that's my senator doing it too. Nice.
- rolf, on 10/11/2007, -4/+64Perhaps. In other news Haliburton just "donated" $4.8 million of emergency funding to the goverment.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -9/+64...until the Dems fold like a cardboard box like they always do.
I'm sick of getting excited because the Dems grew some sack only to get even more pissed two days later when they retract their statement or accept a "compromise" (which translates to "giving Bush whatever he wants").
Yeah, this is nice, but I have a hard time believing they'll stick to it. - evensong, on 10/11/2007, -1/+54If this trend continues, we might have a democracy!
- clubmasta2, on 10/11/2007, -4/+49The Dick is on the chopping block :D
- M0b1u5, on 10/11/2007, -5/+48Amerika still has some fight left in it, it seems.
Great news. - eatsushi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+40I'm still watching very closely Dems..please hold your grounds
- theNthDoctor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+40*gasps* "It's old man Cheney!"
"And I would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for those crazy participating constituents!" - g3cko, on 10/11/2007, -1/+39Great start - now they need to impeach the bastard.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+33step in the right direction... but 4.8 million is pennies to them.
- Moocat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+33I was honestly beginning to lose hope that our congress had the balls to do ANYTHING. I 'm happy that they managed to get off their fat overpaid asses and actually do the work we hired them to do for once. Now if they only just continue the direction they started :)
- hawkspur, on 10/11/2007, -0/+29Well looky there, the Senate's balls just managed to drop.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+33But will cheney blend?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+31Count down until Dems fold in 3...2... just kidding. Seriously though, this is a step in the right direction. I just hope the Dems have enough of a spine to do what is needed. I will hold back any sort of applause until then, but if they actually stick with it then they are certainly doing the right thing.
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -4/+31a democrat with backbone? Interesting.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23Cheney must be very afraid of the contents of the documents he's hiding, if he would go this far to avoid releasing them. Link to source: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/07/10/america/NA-GEN-US-Democrats-Cheney.php
- UtahApocalyse, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Hopefully they next will evict him from the VP house as well.
- lolinternets, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19On the contrary... Cheney has directly influenced politics and has placed American lives in danger by his influence in the government. Halliburton is also robbing the US Treasury blind. Halliburton et. al., and military expenditures total 1.1 billion per -day- in Iraq. I dunno... lot of stuff there says to me that some people in this administration are perhaps less worthy of life than others.
- OswaldKenobi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18I criticize you liberals all the time. On this, go for it. It's appropriate. It's just. It's right.
- Sketchcast, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Go Team USA, take back your democracy!!! With love from Canada.
- wiremonkeymommy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16lock all the damn bathrooms in his wing, too!
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17I realize congress is doing this to get at his classified documents, but why isn't there any action on the crimes he's committed against our country? he manipulated the US intelligence process to make the case for the Iraq war, he leaked the identity of a CIA agent as retribution for her husband's political views, he continues to lie about a Saddam-al Qaeda link, and he is threatening war with Iran!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -10/+25***** finally.
Too bad the Dems will give up in a few days and give Cheney his money. - emjaymj, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13voting based on party regardless of the candidate is the cause of our problems, not the solution
- saintdesy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14In the words of Nelson Muntz: Ha ha!
- theNthDoctor, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15...I'm in ur Appropriations Committee, stoppin ur funds
- cutesegirl, on 10/11/2007, -7/+19Cheney goes in for heart surgery this summer to replace his pacemaker. Maybe the pri*k will expire on the operating table and do America a big favor not to mention the savings of taxpayer money involved vs. impeachment proceedings. Washington DC (District of Criminals)
- kageki, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Oh lord I just wonder how many people would actually want to see Cheney being blended.
- snotrokit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13me too! Go Durbin Go!!!
Gotta shake that mans hand next time I see him. :) - knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13and just how will you choose those reps?
- crichton101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11maybe, lets give it a week or so and see if it's actually true.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Vermont - we have Leahy and Bernie Sanders
- TexMurphy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Dont back down Sen. Richard Durbin. Get that evil thing that calls it self Dick Cheney.
- byronm, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Good to see hardball from the other side for a change. THIS IS POLITICS. Nice to see some balls
- knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9that is a bold step they took, though. my instinct tells me they may have had enough, that is a bold step.
- Erectile, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9That is the question.
- knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8the punishment for the crime of treason?
- DustinR, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Yeah Im having a paradox, I want to vote out all incumbent representatives, but mine actually do a good job in comparison to the other morons running the goverment.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8A well-targeted lack of 4.8 million, though, can be very effective.
- Corvidae, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I'm just kind of curios. The vice presidents office costs 4.8 million dollars? WTF?!?!
I think it might be time to look for some budget cuts up in there somewhere. - crichton101, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I say that point is mute, because he's the living dead, and the only thing pumping through is veins now is pure evil.
- crichton101, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I have to agree, until the Dems can actually do something and not back down, I have little faith them in them. That would probably be why their approval rating is in the drain like Bush's.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Technically, we were never supposed to have one, either. We have a representative democracy, and for good reason. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch." - Benjamin Franklin
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Thats irrelevant to your assertion that "those thing [sic] only happened in [my] mind," isn't it?
- knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5swrostmore, what you just said is so very very important to consider.
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Too bad you can only vote for your representatives, eh?
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I think we can discount your theory, since most of "those thing" [sic] are quoted from H.Res 333, with 14 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives.
- luther70, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Is there a state out there that has two better senators then Illinois? I think not.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6like I said, 14 co-sponsors in the house of representatives
