- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11How is that "in fairness"? Because he disagrees with failing policies he should not be allowed to question our publically elected officials? Because he voices his concerns about the actions of our government he should be assaulted?
Standard Republican crap. They can't compete on issues, so they get away with whatever semi-legal ***** they can.
There was the video last year where the Repug thugs assaulted that old lady carrying the sign.
How come they behave like common street thugs? - remove, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Well attacking Jim Webb for writing books that have instances of sex in them that are based on things he actually saw when he was in Vietnam (one of Webb's books is on the US Marines Corps reading list and another is the most frequently taught novel on the Vietnam war, and a third which Senator McCain, a fellow Vietnam vet has personally endorsed) hardly has anything to do with policy either-- it had to do with the Allen campaign trying to attack Webb for anything they could.
- yakimushi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Didn't this guy get the memo? It's no longer patriotic to question our *cough* Republican leaders.
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8wasn't allen the one that used a racial slur when referring to a guy from India or Indian descent?
- Dradis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6And this means he's not allowed to exercise his constitutional rights? And this makes it ok for Allen's goon-squad to assault and batter him?
"In all fairness" ..give me a break. - shawnfassett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8But Jim Webb wrote a dirty novel....
Whatever, the GOP are sad and pathetic and not worthy of leading this amazing country. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"None of this has anything to do with policy."
Does it have to? This is election season and a politician's character is as much of an issue as his policies. I don't want someone who treats women with such lack of respect as my senator. A politician must be able to deal _peacefully_ with questions about his or her character. Allen has just shown he can't. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Give me a break, this is just sad.

- NinjAlt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Sorry, but this is a dupe. We learned about the incident yesterday when it hit the front page

Yes i'm sure some of you will go "OH WELL I DIDNT SEE IT THEN SO ITS PERFECTLY FINE TO POST IT!"
You can say that all you want but you atleast have to set some guidelines for yourself. If the dupe in questions original post hit front page YESTERDAY and is only 18 hours old then you atleast have to admit its a dupe and report it as such. - DavidYeah, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Well, he wasn't asking about policy. He was asking whether or not he spit on his first wife. So in fairness, he wasn't trying to get the word out about bad policy that Allen supports, he was just trying to drum up controversy about Allen's personal life, just like how people were trying to make a big deal about him allegedly shoving a deer head into the mailbox of a black family after a hunting trip.
None of this has anything to do with policy. - DavidYeah, on 10/12/2007, -16/+5In all fairness, the "protestor" was Mike Stark, a liberal blogger at http://www.callingallwingnuts.com
