- Bdog2g2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28Truth: "IRAQ did not have WMDs"
Truth: "The US went to ware because of WMD"
Truth: "This Administration has never admitted they were wrong"
Truth: "We are fighting an illegal war" - aaronwolfe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Russ Feingold is one of the few possible Democratic presidental nominees that actually gives me hope. It's nice to see a Senator who will not just say what he thinks people want to hear. He's honest and he's not afraid of the truth (unlike a certain President of ours). Go Russ!
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26Russy is my favorite!
- Aidenag, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22he is one of the few people left on the hill that accually puts the people not only in his district, but the entire country first, above all else.. And for any complaints, yes i know this is technicly a video clip, but its 110% political in nature, so i figured the people intrested in watching it would be more likely to see it here
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Hear Hear! (or however it goes)
He makes sense and he plays it fair, that's what you gotta like about a him, especially for being a Senator. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16none of your "truths" link 9/11 to iraq in anyway. show me some evidence binlaiden was even involved in 9/11 to begin with (he has always denied involvement, now why would he do that?), let alone evidence that iraq helped him commit the attack.
your linking to abcnews and claim your source is declassified army documents.
you bastards just can't stop the lies can you? - schumi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I see Feinold as one of only three or four people that could possibly beat Clinton in the Democratic primary(also Gore, Warner, Obama). And one of the things that sets him apart is that he has consistently spoke his mind and was one of only a handful of senators who voted against authorizing Bush to use force in Iraq, as well as one of the to call for the withdrawal of troops. He also called for the censure of President Bush for his illegal wire-tapping of U.S. citizens.
He also has a lot of support from the Internet community because of his core liberal beliefs and his outspoken, attention getting style. So today's scolding of the Administration for manipulating Americans and continuing to spew lies about the war only makes me want to vote for him even more. - lateralus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Russ for President.
- enigmatics, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Run, Russ, Run!
Makes me proud to be a Wisconsinite and see my vote get the most for the pencil lead. - strangedezign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Is that why he gets reelected?
- lahar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Then don't read the politics section. There are plenty of other sections to keep you entertained.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8he is just saying what the whole world has been thinking. good on him.
- xartemisx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8It's good to see someone at least trying to keep Bush in-check, because the other two branches of the government sure aren't.
- TripinVA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You know why I like Feingold?
The USAPATRIOT Act passed the US Senate 99-1.
Guess who the 1 was.
Yep. Feingold.
I'll support him any day. - Shipley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm proud to have voted for Russ when he ran for re-election last. I was still new to WI, but knew he was on my side when i heard he voted against the patriot act.
RUSS 08! - monergist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@MisterCookie
While not specific to digg, this is the truth for about any news site around - amirjpl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wow, now i like digg even more, because now i can see this community is made up of people that think for themselves. You guys rock. Who ever submitted this story is awsome
- Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Several years ago his Republican challenger, Mark Neumann, ran a political commercial attacking Feingold for his vote on a 1993 environmental bill.
"Neumann's campaign ad features cows making flatulent sounds and a white-coated scientist running toward Bossie with a glass bottle trying to get a sample of the emissions. "
http://www.junkscience.com/sep98/cows.htm
That was the best they could do against him. Embarrassing... - TheFoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Feingold is pretty awesome and he's proved that he can act in a non-partisan way with the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Bill.
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"This Administration has admitted they were wrong people just refuse to listen more"
It's just hard to wade through the double talk, the finger pointing, and the "but we did do (insert your favorite "good deed" here).
When people ask Bush and his cabinet (not that they can actually ask Bush none approved questions) about WMDs they break out into a song and dance to rival that rivals Annie, Rent, Cats and The Producers combined.
So listen as close and carefully as you want for an admision that they were wrong. You won't hear it. - Bdog2g2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@valkyries
I know very well how to spell "WAR"....its a case of "PHAT" fingers and the spell check feature not working.
"Truth: This Administration has admitted they were wrong people just refuse to listen more" please attach the YouTube, Google Video, or any other reference. - lahar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed. However, Gore and Obama have said that they won't be running.
- monergist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I would have to say that I agree with Sen. Russ, but he exhibits one of the things that I worry most about the voting population:
"I%u2019m going to support the Democratic nominee who ever that is."
Granted, I understand a Democratic senator making that statement, but too often, the voting public has the same mindset. How about standing behind the nominee that you must agree with regardless of political affiliation?
Or are you not really a republican/democrat unless you are far right/far left? - cheez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3not in a mean way, i just like having people's opinions, why are you opposed to national health care
- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I voted for Russ. I do not agree with everything he is for, like national health care. However, he does seem to understand we are a nation of laws and should not accept a president which acts in the manner of a dictator. He is capable of compromise. He is an honest guy. Though I am an libertarian sort, I respect him. I would rather vote for a man with integrity who I have some differences than some slimy bastard who I agree with, but could never trust.
We want to be free of terrorism? Then play fair with the world and get out of other peoples business. The Prime Directive of Star Trek fame makes sense. Hell, we supported the Shah of Iran and Saddam, when it served our Cold War needs. We screwed over millions and we bitch at payback. We need to grow up and just mind our own country with a great effort in keeping it free of tyranny. - ahoving, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Feingold-Obama 2008, leading an army of truthtellers
- canadianrockstr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I'm Canadian, all I want is someone who can take the reigns of what can be a strong leading moral nation...
Is this guy him? - webXL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe because we don't want the doctor's office to turn into the DMV.
- deesnutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Russ Feingold is the man. I'm supporting him in 2008. I just brought two t-shirts that I plan to wear.

It's about time a Democrat stood up to this Thug Presidency. - cheez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4oh, thanks for the solid argument against liberals
- Dred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What harm has it done?
- helix400, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not quite correct.
There aren't any "Bush rulz" stories that get dugg to the main page. - TheCasablancan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I on behalf of all nonliterates apologize to you, Dotnetsky. So I offer you this prayer.
Please, forgive us of our textual sins! Please allow us to follow into the enveloping light and warmth that is spell check! May the divine pasta lord of the universe extend his noodly appendage to our keyboards and teach us to type only upon the golden keys of enlightenment. LET THE POWER OF THE LORD, OUR LIBRARIAN, PASS OVER AND THROUGH US!!!
Amen. - PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I agree that backing any Democratic nominee is a mistake, a Feingold fault so to speak. It sounds too party-affilliated to me despite the fact the he's highly intelligent. I'm leaning more toward Joe Biden. Check out this video...ya gotta love FOX! For all you boneheaded Republicans & Fox fans, watch this and learn something for a change.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCDkC-Ce56M&search=joe%20biden - grendelwraith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe it is not about one form of belief or another. Maybe what is disheartening for you is that your opinion does not seem to be held by the majority.
Or maybe you just are not used to seeing dissenting views and taking them as that.
Views that vary from your own. - schumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm also just curious about why you don't like universal health care, most people I talk to seem to be for it.
- schumi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I couldn't agree more that piece of legislation has done more harm then anyone could have ever imagined.
- webXL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What a dick! False pretenses? Wasn't it that Saddam wasn't cooperating with us on WMDs? Didn't we just find a whole bunch? "Oh, they weren't a threat!" OK, let's put a canister in your house and see if you're threatened. I hate demagogues.
- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1National health care will be another efficient government program like FEMA. I believe insurance is part of the problem. When someone else pays, we no longer shop around for the best price. If, people were responsible for their own coverage with high rates for being overweight, smoking, drinking, commuting 80 miles a day, people would change their behavior. With employer or national coverage those problems are ignored in order to be "fair".
Aside from that, the government ignores the research on the role of nutrition on health. For example vitamin c and vitamin e deficiency has been shown to correlate very highly to heart disease. However, most insurance plans including any national plan will be selling statins. Big Pharma will lobby the system to create more of the same we have today.
Universal coverage will not cut costs because the prices of drugs are still set by corporations. If, you really want to test this,. we could open up the plan we have for Congress to the entire nation. It would be on a voluntary basis with premiums paid privately. It can be personal or your employer. If, the government can do it better we can find out.
I, also, do not like being forced into a government plan. A Wisconsin group is trying to force everyone to pay into a universal system. That will cost me and my wife several thousand a year. We have insurance from our employers, but we would still have to pay into the proposed system. It would be MANDATORY. That is not compatible with FREEDOM. - xlocust, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oh that poor poor Bush..all of daddy's money (and a little help from the florida RNC) can buy him a presidency but can't keep those "pathetic, notorious liberals" from bashing him. Those poor poor conservatives who control every branch of government yet they the oppressed ones. Booooooo hoooooooooooo.........
- Brightside, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Feingold and McCain, my two favorite politicians. If both ended up running in the '08 Presidential Election, I'd have a tough time picking between the two. But hey, I'd just be happy that those would be our two choices, the White House would be much better with one of those two in office.
- Dred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Truth: Recently WMD's or I should say 500 chemical weapons were found
- drgori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"I agree that I would love to see Feingold in office, but unfortunately he is probably too radical to be elected. Barring any major screw-ups by the administration, I think Russ is unelectable."
That kind of thinking is what often kills the Dems' chnces. A resolute candidate is a strong candidate. That's not Feingold's weakness; it's his strength! Don't try to court the opposing party's voters with some mealymouthed, middle-of-the-spectrum candidate. It won't work. Instead, get your party excited about a candidate who actually represents them.
Unfortunately, when the primaries come around, too many people vote for the candidate they assume is more "electable," instead of voting for the candidate who 1) best represents them and 2) actually IS more electable. Going for the safe candidate is exactly how Kerry got the nod in '04 over Edwards and Dean. - crythias, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1They think for themselves? Every modded up comment is a parrot of the previous one. And every modded down one... well, you get the point.
- valkyries, on 10/12/2007, -10/+10Truth: Most of the things the military did find is Classified
Truth: Bdog2g2 cant spell war
Truth: This Administration has admitted they were wrong people just refuse to listen more
Question: has Congress signed a declaration of war against any country in the past 50 years? - jdb252, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I agree that I would love to see Feingold in office, but unfortunately he is probably too radical to be elected. Barring any major screw-ups by the administration, I think Russ is unelectable.
- crythias, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This will get modded down, but here's why your guy gets re-elected. http://www.factcheck.org/article388.html
Even if you want to point this: http://www.factcheck.org/article381.html I have *no* problem. - crythias, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1you missed the tag: Politics
Too bad one can't simply bury that tag altogether. - valkyries, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2there's was special about Katrina on either the National Geographic channel or the Discovery Science channel and theres a few min speech that Bush did taking full blame.
- ryclarkeus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1It would be extremely refreshing for a change if I could read comments that aren't so emotional and devoid of reason. The fine Senator will say anything at this point to make himself seem favorable and electable. But will he remain that way after he has been elected?
