- MercyPolitics, on 04/22/2009, -20/+231OK, let's re-phrase this in less diplomatic terms : Dick Cheney is a compulsive LIAR.
- MercyPolitics, on 04/22/2009, -10/+145Hillary Clinton is now serving two functions in the Obama administration: Secretary of State & top attack dog. She is much better at the second one than Joe Biden...
- jleopold, on 04/22/2009, -14/+95He's a criminal! That's what she should have said. This new report from the Senate makes it clear that interrogations were used to gather bogus intelligence on Iraq
- inactive, on 04/22/2009, -19/+100I thought he was buried. Did he climb out of the tomb again?
- clvngodess, on 04/22/2009, -13/+87I just love the entire message: Torture not reliable, Cheney not reliable.
- inactive, on 04/22/2009, -18/+66You go, girl.
- Phylter, on 04/22/2009, -5/+49Good to see SOS Clinton call him out.
- Anomaly100, on 04/22/2009, -12/+52You just don't hear too many people that say they have respect for this jackass. Actually, I've never heard that from anyone. We the have the Bush groupies, but Cheney? He's on his own.
- freedomjoe, on 04/22/2009, -10/+50He is indeed not reliable. It would be reliably fantastic, however, to see him in jail where he belongs -- and since he doesn't think torture is torture, we could assist him in learning to empathize.
- kismetropolis, on 04/22/2009, -10/+50Not bad, Mrs. Clinton. Not bad at all.
Now keep on it until the Cheney cabal's dirty laundry is twisting in the wind for all to see. - seltaeb4, on 04/22/2009, -9/+41Cheney should submit himself to the same procedures. I'd like to hear his feelings on torture and abuse afterwards.
- graphictruth, on 04/22/2009, -3/+29Oh, I don't think we have to assume she was speaking for the Administration here. Not that she's wrong, or they wouldn't agree. But frankly, she was being considerably more polite than Cheney - or the facts at issue - would permit.
And as much as I think of her as being a cold, calculating political machine, it's toward an end. I don't always agree with her ends - but I do believe she believes sincerely in the ideals of the nation, as she understands them, and doesn't seek power purely for the sake of it.
Cheney, on the other hand, views torture as a perogative of power and a natural expression of the State - which is to say, himself. Nor should anyone think for a moment that he's in any way conceded defeat, or a scintilla of his desire to control the lives and fate of everyone on this globe. - clvngodess, on 04/22/2009, -5/+29LOL! Must have been a full moon.
- psy333che, on 04/22/2009, -10/+34I wish someone would call him out... I would love to see him go to jail. I still wear my Impeach Cheney cap
We see him more now then we saw him in 8 years - Echota, on 04/22/2009, -2/+21Oh I just love it when you drop all that "politically correct" talk and call it like it is!)
- StaticThunder, on 04/22/2009, -4/+22Somebody needs to shove a stake through his heart and put a brick in his mouth.
- Delphium226, on 04/23/2009, -0/+18You are missing the point entirely. She's not questioning what he knows, she's questioning his ability to tell the truth.
- BrownieMix, on 04/23/2009, -7/+25Since when was Dick Cheney a reliable source for anything?
- novenator, on 04/22/2009, -2/+18maybe see if that man-sized safe fits in his ass
- angeladtao, on 04/23/2009, -3/+18I still think Cheney must have been anoxic for some period of time during one of his heart attacks. While he was clinically dead, he must have been taken over by an evil spirit. If you see the video of Cheney talking about Iraq immediately and defending the decision not to go into Baghdad after the first Gulf War, he is an entirely different person!
http://www.alternet.org/blogs/video/59488 - Echota, on 04/22/2009, -2/+17I believe Cheney is somewhat nervous these days and all the talk he is doing is his way to try and cover his own arse.
- shycyberguy, on 04/22/2009, -8/+23 It isn't hard to see who was really in charge all those years. If Cheney had any balls he would just shoot himself.
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -1/+16Water boarding is torture. Every single one of the blowhards who have claimed it is not and who had the fortitude to undergo the experience, 100% changed their tunes and admitted full well that it was indeed torture.
Trying to pretend waterboarding isn't torture, when we hanged people who used it in WW2, is just delusional, and nobody with a brain at this point is still pushing that angle.
Even Ari Fleischer, once arch mendacious mouthpiece for the Bush Administration, has admitted that it is not a technique that is ever justifiable. It's over. - mrogi, on 04/23/2009, -6/+19Why does anybody give a ***** what Dick Cheney says? He left office with a 13% approval rating.
- RileyCourage, on 04/22/2009, -8/+21Shocker!
- MercyPolitics, on 04/22/2009, -2/+14Absolutely, I can't wait to find out more about Dick's Assassins Squad.
- LMControl, on 04/23/2009, -13/+25...and the Clintons have never been reliable at telling the truth, so there you go. Digg me down lib-tards..... you know it's true!!
- novenator, on 04/22/2009, -1/+13he needs to sell more books to fund his defense fund. He'll need it.
- MacEnvy, on 04/23/2009, -0/+12I'm sure he would, but that's because he's a liar and a sociopath.
- scottknick, on 04/22/2009, -2/+13With his decayed heart, you wouldn't be hearing his feelings on much of anything after being waterboarded a few times.
- bigplrbear, on 04/23/2009, -12/+23Dick Cheney's just a troll on the Obama forum
- DooM, on 04/23/2009, -1/+12@aadys - there are time tested and proven interrogation techniques that work and are simultaneously not torture. Read about Hanss Scharff who was the German's top interrogator during WWII and upon whose work the US' subsequent interrogation techniques were shaped around. Scharff never tortured anyone and, in fact, never even raised his voice to the American prisoners he interrogated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanns_Scharff
Also, there is a BIG difference between torturing people and having civilian casualties as a result of war - if you don't know the difference, I really can't help you. But to answer your question - yes, you are correct. I'm ok with people dying in war and I'm not ok with torture. - rossiprojects, on 04/23/2009, -12/+23Cheney is the real terrorist.
- psy333che, on 04/22/2009, -3/+14 Cheney has is a cruel person brain lacking and also heartless
- Frankttank, on 04/23/2009, -6/+17Am i the only one that noticed she completely ignored the question.... i agree with the Dick (Cheney) haters, but the fact that they are only releasing the negative info on the CIA is bias *****, what about the intel they find that is beneficial to the safety of the American public?
- inactive, on 04/23/2009, -0/+10@thcobbs
FINALLY, after 11 years, a Clinton dick joke. I've been waiting a long time to hear one of those. - DooM, on 04/23/2009, -2/+12@aadyss: Even if the memos that Cheney claims exist DO exist they are irrelevant. That you got SOME useful information as a result of torture does NOT mean you could not have gotten that information through other means.
- MacEnvy, on 04/23/2009, -0/+10Torture is, by its very nature, LESS reliable than non-coerced intelligence. It was taken under extreme duress by someone with incentive to say anything to get out of the situation.
- MacEnvy, on 04/23/2009, -1/+11Just because you don't personally know where he is doesn't mean he's in hiding. He speaks somewhere almost every day.
For example, yesterday he was in Maryland:

take your meds and turn off the limbaugh - TheSwashbuckler, on 04/23/2009, -0/+9You're one of about 20%...
- CosmicSurfer, on 04/23/2009, -14/+23SURE, Cheney's a reliable source -
a reliable source of lies;
a reliable source for manipulated intelligence;
a reliable source for torture;
a reliable source for propaganda;
a reliable source for outing CIA agents;
a reliable source for war crimes - DooM, on 04/23/2009, -0/+9@Fearlessfreep - do this experiment. Go to two movie theaters - ask the first ticket person what day the new Star Trek movie is released, at the second, waterboard the ticket person until they tell you. You'll likely get good information from both but that doesn't mean that waterboarding the second guy was more effective or even necessary.
- cbutlerjr, on 04/23/2009, -1/+10neither can people that don't know the difference between plural and possessive...
- SpinningHead, on 04/23/2009, -1/+10@aadyss
Fraternities are full of the same kind of spoiled chicken-hawk retards that made up the last administration. Some were water-boarded 83 times in a month. They even wanted to put a guy in a box with an insect and tell him it was a dangerous stinging insect which is almost exactly like the rat in the cage in front of your face ala 1984. People who minimize such things dishonor our nation. I suppose if they did it to our guys you'd say, "oh, no biggie".
We have also had plenty of intel experts saying this is unreliable and unnecessary, but guys like you get your info from jack bauer. Being a moral nation does not mean being moral when its most convenient. - bentman78, on 04/23/2009, -9/+17What's better is the reply the guy gave her:
"We're not asking you for your opinion of Dick Cheney, you need to maintain credibility with us..."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgNRwrzYXvQ&fea ... - crunchdigg, on 04/23/2009, -0/+8but according to W, "We do not torture".
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9956644/
I guess we could only simulate drowning Dick 183 times
interspersed with keeping him naked, cold, and awake.
We could even get some other dick to write a paper saying
that was OK. Most of the people we "didn't torture" this way
would still be alive.
Would that do? - edrodgers731, on 04/23/2009, -9/+17Why does the article not mention the slap-down that she received after her answer?
Funny. - inactive, on 04/23/2009, -4/+12has anyone ever told you you're a complete ass, nolibertarians? oh, yeah - EVERYBODY has..
- thcobbs, on 04/23/2009, -3/+11Well, if anyone know when men are lying through their teeth, it would be Hillar....
Ahem... maybe not. -
