- julianwan, on 02/11/2008, -2/+13Does anyone even know the law anymore? The right to assembly? It was a PEACEFUL assembly to protest a very VIOLENT religion.
Ahh America Today.- jmpeagle, on 02/11/2008, -0/+2because the police have no right to protect people by nonviolent means? You make it sound like they were beating, harrassing, and tasering protesters.
- williamdyer, on 02/11/2008, -2/+2Expose the scientology dupes inside PDs and run them out of town.
- guy123thor, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1Glad to see the APD in my hometown showed up to protect the peace. Anonymous has threatened "war" against Scientology, and publicly claiming they will "raid" Scientology establishments at a given date. And by the way, the right to assemble has limits. Like, you're not allowed to assemble on private property that you don't have permission to be on, like they do in these pictures. You're not allowed to impede traffic without a permit, which these people didn't have. I hate Scientology as much as the next guy, but these cops are doing their jobs, protecting private property and maintaining order. These cops did nothing but stand by in the event that the protesters broke the law. I know this'll be buried before I can blink, but just remember that law enforcement isn't always the bad guy. Yay for Anonymous for exposing Scientology for the evil they are, but when you use words like "war" and "raid", don't just expect that the police are gonna stand idly by.
- Mexicore, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1They're not on private property, they're on a public sidewalk, and they aren't impeding traffic, they aren't even on the street.
- GuacamoleSan, on 02/11/2008, -1/+1It looks like the police were considering this a possible violent uprising, not a protest.
looks like I'm the first one to say it....eff the po-lice!
