- Cofaloaf, on 11/10/2008, -28/+441lol is there a religious right wing brigade on Digg? Good arguments. You guys are right democracy is about the majority decision, that should never be challenged. Put the blacks back in chains they have work to do.
Stupid intolerant *****. - dancindrudge, on 11/10/2008, -19/+355Gay is the new Black.
- mksmothers, on 11/10/2008, -14/+343Time to tax churches. If they want to play with the big boys its time to take away their tax-exempt status.
- anoynymause, on 11/10/2008, -28/+312Most badass governor ever.
- Gryfft, on 11/10/2008, -11/+278Also, a black man will never be president. What don't the dumbass African-Americans understand about democracy? You lost forty-three times. That's it. Go home.
- MCA2142, on 11/10/2008, -35/+268Religion = all about control. maintaining the status quo.
- ohcrepe, on 11/10/2008, -27/+250it's not a TUMAH!
- ricksite, on 11/10/2008, -12/+208I am glad gay marriage is banned in California. Two consenting adults of the same gender loving one another is the biggest problem this country faces today. Just look what gay marriage did to the economy, gas prices and the environment. Ban gay marriage and say goodbye to litter, working late, traffic jams, sunburn, food spoilage... the list goes on and on.
- Akairenn, on 11/10/2008, -7/+193What do you fools not understand that our government exists for the protection of the people and their inherent, inalienable rights?
The fact that sick people like you can attempt to twist a constitution - even a state constitution - into a tool of oppression, is only tempered by the ability of judicial branches to tell you where you might stick your proposition. - USAOwnz, on 11/10/2008, -9/+165We can't give up! Segregation was wrong and so is this.
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -8/+160In the next election, Californians will be deciding on whether or not gays can use the same water fountains and entrances into buildings.
Some are hoping that by 2012, certain states will allow it's citizens to own their own homosexual for housekeeping purposes. - omnithought, on 11/10/2008, -10/+136It wasn't democracy, as it failed to go through the mandatory legislative process.
- Akairenn, on 11/10/2008, -11/+128Being a Narutard is a mental disorder. :p
- superterrorizer, on 11/10/2008, -9/+122I think if nothing else, I've gained a lot of respect for Arnold during this.
- Khast, on 11/10/2008, -6/+118How about making legislation that under no circumstance can a bill TAKE AWAY RIGHTS OF INDIVIDUALS. That would be the right thing to do. Have all bills in effect which take rights away nullified. Basic human rights are NOT something which should be allowed to be voted away, under any circumstance.
- USAOwnz, on 11/10/2008, -7/+108If twice the people would have said the same ***** to segregation and separate but equal *****, I still would have fought to get that ***** removed. I ain't giving up that easily.
- maximilen, on 11/10/2008, -1/+87He's gonna go back in time and terminate Prop 8!
- jpsoraire, on 11/10/2008, -16/+99Thanks Arnold
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -11/+93Well, if that's your take on it.....do you also oppose two people marrying if they have bi-polar disorder, PTSD, or schizophrenia?
- y0y0howsdajell0, on 11/10/2008, -3/+81Yes, because all Republicans hate gay people and eat kittens...
- avidlinuxuser, on 11/10/2008, -4/+80'"We will continue to bless same-sex unions here until we can legally celebrate same-sex unions again," the Rev. Ed Bacon told 1,000 congregants during Sunday services at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, which has blessed same-sex unions for 16 years.'
See now. Some churches get it. As a new generation grows up, things will change. - pintomp3, on 11/10/2008, -9/+83marriage |ˈmarij|
noun
1. the formal union of a two consenting adults, typically recognized by law, - kevinwiz, on 11/10/2008, -6/+80The constitution is meant to protect the rights of the minority. the majority should not be allowed to vote on the rights of the minority.
- treed, on 11/10/2008, -4/+72A lot of people said no to abolishment of slavery, too. We all know *they* were right.
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -7/+74I think the Supreme Court would strike this ***** down in a heartbeat under the Equal Protection Clause. Someone needs to find a way to get a case before them.
- imitokay, on 11/10/2008, -3/+69I find that the most ignorant people often have the most to say, sadly
thanks for the comment cof - treed, on 11/10/2008, -6/+71Our founding fathers certainly understood the possibility of the tyranny of the majority. That's why the courts were set up to be able to dispose of unjust laws. Why don't you go home?
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -13/+78Bigotry...pure bigotry. There's no other argument
- KMartSheriff, on 11/10/2008, -1/+652 people (so far) dugg you down and, therefore, have no concept of sarcasm.
- omnithought, on 11/10/2008, -10/+73This actually boils down to a church and state issue, as the arguments against gay marriage are religiously based, rather than based on reason and logic. When you toss aside the Bible and actually sit down and think about it, who is being hurt by gay marriage? No one. It really is time to get past religiously induced bigotry.
- chilibeanie, on 11/10/2008, -6/+68You don't have to be a cheerleader for gay marriage, you don't have to do it, you don't have to like it -- but the fact that thousands of citizens are devastated by this and feel that their freedom has been denied is enough to tell you that this law is wrong is the United States of America.
Good for the Governator! - rolf, on 11/10/2008, -2/+63Omnithought,
It was exactly democracy:
"Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch."
That's why we have a republic. - habfan29, on 11/10/2008, -6/+66Yeah! You're right, damn the rights of the minority!
- publiclurker, on 11/10/2008, -4/+61I seriously doubt he plans on remaining single forever, so probably not.
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -5/+62Rights shouldn't be voted on, period. That's why they're called rights.
- Hetman, on 11/10/2008, -3/+59"render onto ceasers that which is ceasers, and render onto God that which is Gods."
Christains are supposed to pay taxes anyways. It states it in the bible. How they have gotten away with not paying them is beyond me. - Greengoo, on 11/10/2008, -0/+55Obligatory "GET TO DA CHOPPA!"
- pintomp3, on 11/10/2008, -5/+60just like bans on interracial marriage fell, these bans will fall too.
http://cedarlounge.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/gay ... - brstilson, on 11/10/2008, -2/+54Gays using the same water fountains as straight people violates the religious freedom of Christians.
- brstilson, on 11/10/2008, -14/+65Arnold is what the Republican Party should be.
- Cofaloaf, on 11/10/2008, -4/+50It's a personal choice to be intolerant, not to be gay.
But that would involve looking at things like science and facts. - wminzlaff, on 11/10/2008, -3/+49I dont support gay or lesbian activities.
But if people choose to do such things, they must have the RIGHT to do so.
ALL EQUAL UNDER THE LAW - imitokay, on 11/10/2008, -7/+53the real naruto would kick you in the face for being ignorant
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -2/+46@aletoledo
That's called the tyranny of the majority. In the 1800s, the majority supported the legalization of slavery, too - does that make slavery justified? - rascilon, on 11/10/2008, -1/+44Re-posted from about.com but worth consideration.

These are just a few of the 1400 state and federal benefits that gays and lesbians are denied by not being able to marry. Most of these benefits cannot be privately arranged or contracted for within the legal system. - bukiyou, on 11/10/2008, -2/+45i'm all for banning narutards from marriage
- kevinwiz, on 11/10/2008, -7/+49It should not have been on the ballot. That negates your entire argument.
- publiclurker, on 11/10/2008, -3/+44Being gay is not a choice. Being a bigot is.
- mksmothers, on 11/10/2008, -5/+46Personal choice? Ah yes! I fondly remember my 13th birthday when I was given a choice to like the opposite sex. My best friend however chose to like men. He told me that he thought it would be great to be hated by irrational a-holes. He wanted to be treated unequally by virtually every religion on earth. He loved the idea of not being able to serve in the military. He looked forward to the time in which he would have to fight for the right to love another person and have the same legal rights as his parents.. He thought it would be wonderful to not have the right to visit his dying partner in the hospital because his partner's parents didn't want it to happen.
DON'T BE AN INTOLERANT *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU AREN'T HURT BY TWO MEN OR TWO WOMEN LOVING EACH OTHER. -
