- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -4/+141If she's willing to desert her post as Governor to further her own personal gains, then why should we trust that she wont do the same as president? It's supposed to be a position of responsibility, not a place to rack up political points.
- pingpants, on 07/13/2009, -6/+86FTA: “Honestly, Sarah’s resignation was complete ***** and I’m saying that as a Republican,” a Republican political veteran working in the legislature told me. “In all my years in politics, nobody has left Alaska in such a mess. Everyone here is just shocked.” The Republican added, “There’s no choice but to hold a special session. The conflict has to be handled in an orderly way.”
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 07/13/2009, -1/+66"I'm not a quitter, I'm a fighter." So I am quitting my job so we don't have to waste time fighting all these allegations.
You Betcha! - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -5/+61Palin thinks she's opening doors but I see them closing all the time.
- charlie6969, on 07/13/2009, -6/+58But, but, this whole mess is the evil Democrats' fault....somehow.
- lanemik, on 07/13/2009, -1/+43It does have to get difficult being the one Palin apologist. Oh well, we all have our cross to bear. Your cross comes in the form of a completely inept quitter who can't keep her mouth shut long enough for everyone to forget how big of a moron she is.
Bum deal man. - Farmer77, on 07/13/2009, -2/+40It would be awesome if she melts down even more and shaves her head Britney Spears style.
- Khast, on 07/13/2009, -2/+39closing? I think they are being slammed in her face. She is a mockery of everything this country stands for. She doesn't have any honor.
- spook69, on 07/13/2009, -2/+33I personally get paid about 30 cents for each negative comment I post about her, but some people can make even more depending on how long they've been doing it. I know a guy who is putting himself through college by astroturfing for the Democrats online, but he's been proven to be very effective at convincing people to vote blue, so he probably makes closer to $1 per comment.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -6/+36...when compared to Ann Coulter.
- legis, on 07/13/2009, -5/+35Sarah Palin is not very bright.
- sizzzzlerz, on 07/13/2009, -0/+29Sarah Palin: 2012-2013!
- egodbois, on 07/13/2009, -1/+28I suspect that Palin may very well be a hyper-liberal in disguise. A liberal that can compete with Pelosi or Moore in a battle liberal-ness.
That's the only way to explain why she's so interested in sabotaging her own party. Really. If you examine every major decision she's made it seems she's purposefully trying to drive the party into the mud. - zephc, on 07/13/2009, -9/+35vault: Coulter's she's smart enough to get paid to be a troll. you're still doing it for free.
Coulter's not stupid, just a total psycho hosebeast. - imgeddylee, on 07/13/2009, -5/+31Sarah Palin is a *****.
- Mujokan, on 07/13/2009, -2/+28None of the reasons Palin gave for quitting stood up to scrutiny. She is the first Governor in US history to quit because she got sick of the job and thought she could make more money being a celebrity.
- trolleyfan, on 07/13/2009, -1/+25She resigned because she's a self-absorbed idiot.
- blackcloud333, on 07/13/2009, -1/+24Or, if you're sane, you would probably ask yourself the question "How much more did Sarah Palin cost her state by being investigated for doing illegal things?".
- Acrobeles, on 07/13/2009, -3/+25If it weren't reality, this would be better than daytime TV. Just think how close she was to becoming our VP!
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -3/+24Right. Coulter's a friggin genius:
In a 2005 interview with the investigative CBC news program, "The Fifth Estate," Ann Coulter was put on the hot seat by Bob McKeown, a serious news journalist. In discussing the war in Iraq, Coulter tried to tell McKeown that Canada used to be an ally of the U.S. when they sent troops to Vietnam.
Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?"
McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam."
Coulter: "I don't think that's right."
McKeown: "Canada did not send troops to Vietnam."
Coulter (looking desperate): "Indochina?"
McKeown: "Uh no. Canada ...second World War of course. Korea. Yes. Vietnam No."
Coulter: "I think you're wrong."
McKeown: "No, took a pass on Vietnam."
Coulter: "I think you're wrong."
McKeown: "No, Australia was there, not Canada."
Coulter: "I think Canada sent troops."
McKeown: "No."
Coulter: "Well. I'll get back to you on that."
McKeown tags out in script:
"Coulter never got back to us -- but for the record, like Iraq, Canada sent no troops to Vietnam."

hahahaha - smacksaw, on 07/13/2009, -2/+20Why don't they hold the session in Wasilla? I hear there's a new hockey rink there that's quite roomy...
- felman87, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18If that was true, she'd be the most savvy politician of our age
- egodbois, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18You just did the textual equivalent of dividing by zero.
- protogenxl, on 07/13/2009, -0/+17And so, she bravely decided to run away.
- fragMasterFlash, on 07/13/2009, -11/+28I hate it when people use the C-word to describe a woman but Sarah may well deserve said moniker.
- TheSavant, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18Do you "rightards" have nothing better to do than trolling 20 Palin articles yelling at "leftards"?
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18No.
- spook69, on 07/13/2009, -1/+16Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding.
- mine4321, on 07/13/2009, -2/+17She's like Dubya Bush but with mood swings.
- BasalCellBossk, on 07/13/2009, -1/+16I love how the !right are all saying "forget about her, let it go, you're living in the past!"
Of course they're saying that, they've only just realized what an embarrassment this woman is to the GOP, naturally they want to bury all mention of her.
Tough luck, chumps, it is in the best interest of the country that we keep reminding people what a disaster Palin and her fans are. We warned you last year, but would you listen? Nooooooooo - Elranzer, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14I heard she was aiming to run for president in 2010...
- Moz34, on 07/13/2009, -4/+18Ann Coulter isn't necessarily unintelligent, but the people who agree with what she says certainly are.
- DankBuddz, on 07/13/2009, -1/+15You know a recent poll said that 71% of Republicans said they'd vote for Sarah Palin if she ran for president?
No, we won't let it go, because we won't allow a joke of a politician into that office. - TobiasParker, on 07/13/2009, -6/+20Intelligent != Educated.
- Chrysalii, on 07/13/2009, -1/+14what does that have to do with the price of apples?
While we're going irrelevant here, my fan is making funny noises. - vinod1978, on 07/13/2009, -0/+12"she resigned because of the endless, baseless attacks against her that already resulted in half a million dollars in legal fees, and climbing."
@Charlotte_Web - the lawsuits that Palin have been facing have not been baseless. Palin paid back $8,143.62 in travel expenses she initially received only because of the lawsuit that was filed which showed that she filed to have her kids travel with her, when they were actually in Alaska. Documents were later modified to show they were traveling with her. This is commonly known as fraud. She abused her position to directly benefit herself and her family. This is just one of the lawsuits - there are plenty more of real issues here. Maybe you should read about the lawsuits, and see how Palin settled them before you call them baseless. - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11We'll know for sure next year when Sascha Baron Cohen releases his movie "Sarah: Delicious Journeys Through Political America for the Purpose of Making Ridiculous the Platform of the Republican Party"
- livestradamus, on 07/13/2009, -2/+13Politicians costing tax payers millions. Say it ain't so, digg.. say it ain't so
- counterpunK, on 07/13/2009, -2/+13I am from Alaska, lived there for over 12 years, and this makes me ashamed to say so. Alaska used to have an air of mystery, but that has been replaced by Sarah Palin. Most people in Alaska are there to get away, to not deal with major politics, and to enjoy the great outdoors. Sarah is the exception. I have very strong words i'd like to use on her, but i'll hold my tongue. I know people think Alaska is full of money (natural gas), but it is not true. More than half the population is natives living in only slightly better housing than 50 years ago. Her waste is disastrous!
- SpinningHead, on 07/13/2009, -2/+12"Sarah is smart enough to know that the Stimulus is NOT "free money", and that it is not the most prudent use of taxpayer dollars."
She could care less about whats prudent. She was all for the "bridge to nowhere" until she got wind that congress was pulling the plug. This stimulus money was specifically meant for insulation and weatherization which would save a fortune in energy costs for the long term.
Further, I cant believe you referred to Palin as "smart". - Mujokan, on 07/13/2009, -1/+11"Republican pundits open fire on Sarah Palin"

- worldgate989, on 07/13/2009, -0/+10You can always see one of those flaming-republicans coming from 10 posts away because they always have to try and dismiss a failure in their party by redirecting the blame to someone else. Obama is doing a better job then McCain and the quitter would have. He might have went to dinner and a play but to play your game, Bush was always taking huge vacations to the ranch in texas. I guess the president is not allowed to take a day off while bush is allowed to take weeks off at a time.
Democrats won, get over it. - PDAIsAOk, on 07/13/2009, -3/+12Cun-try music loving lady?
- Mujokan, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9The biggest portion of that money she spent defending herself against a complaint she filed *herself*.
She decided to put in a complaint to the State Personnel Board over the Troopergate affair. She has said herself it was a baseless complaint. She did this so she would have a talking point against the legislature's investigation, already in progress.
She decided to use a private law firm to defend herself against this and all the other charges. She didn't have to. She says she did this because she didn't want to waste State money on it. An alternative explanation is that it meant correspondence was confidential. Either way, it was her choice.
She set up a fund to pay the fees. It is raking in the money. These funds can be used for many purposes besides legal fees, by Palin and anyone she has a close family relationship to. She will not be out of pocket.
Hellooooooo? - smacksaw, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9Did you hear the latest? She says she'll campaign for Democrats who need her "help"...hear that? It's the sound of laughing behind a slammed door.
- SpinningHead, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9I see I'm gonna have to hold your hand through this. If people are getting paid to weatherize and are buying the materials to weatherize, they are stimulating the economy. If citizens and government are paying less for energy bills, they have more to spend in their local economies. It is also to help families hit by the recession to avoid freezing to death.
Palin already blew a wad on a hockey rink, personal travel for her family, ripped the state off for per diem, supported the infamous bridge, and you're going to tell us shes some kind of hero of fiscal conservatives? - SpinningHead, on 07/13/2009, -2/+11Stimulus money has to be spent. They don't just get to stick it in the bank. You act like its some nefarious plot. Most Alaskans want the stimulus too.
- lanemik, on 07/13/2009, -4/+13Little did we know that she would only have been our VP for a couple years.
- TheUngod, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9Of course when they say "cost Alaska" they really mean "cost the US," since we give them a lot more money than they give us.
