- psnyder, on 09/03/2008, -37/+139Sarah Palin is a reformer like Michael Brown was a FEMA director and Alberto Gonzalez managed a department of "Justice." Spare us from Republican newspeak. The old meanings of words work just fine. Sarah Palin is a true Republican of the modern mold whose actions demonstrate her conviction that the only good government is one that serves as a spoils system for one's cronies, completely regardless of their meritocratic qualifications. Meritocracy is so yesterday for the Republicans. They are so oblivious to the immorality, not to mention the illegality, of what they do that it's almost difficult to call it "corruption" - almost.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -22/+110She really milked it.
- writerswrite, on 09/03/2008, -24/+75What this proves is that the abuse of power investigation and Ms. Palin's mismanagement of her town's budget as mayor are not flukes. They are part of a pattern of abusive and unethical behavior. We do not need another scofflaw vice president. ONE is enough.
- ocooper, on 09/03/2008, -37/+85Republican Government = Graft + Corruption + Incompetence
- bmilliot, on 09/03/2008, -40/+84People in this country need to wake up.
The Republican Party has become the party of con men and charlatans. Crooked business people that have joined in a common goal of fleecing the government and tax payers. If you want to get rich quickly, but don't want to rob banks, join the Republican Party, run for office and start making the "right" connections. You'll still be at risk of going to jail for breaking the law, but it will be a lot less likely you'll get caught or do time.
Check it out for yourself, Google Jack Abramoff - theinternets, on 09/03/2008, -34/+67Uh oh, shouldn't have linked to dailykos, now a bunch of complete idiots will bury this without looking because they don't like factual information backed up with nearly two dozen reputable sources.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -25/+56Palin is the best thing to happen this year! Keep it up Sarah, keep it up!
- chrissku, on 09/03/2008, -6/+31Look at what happened on MSNBC when they left their mics on and were recorded. This is awesome. Keep in mind that Murphy is a republican.
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/It_s_Over_10 - BoneheadFarker, on 09/03/2008, -4/+20Both major parties have become parties of con men and charlatans. Next election, vote for anyone else but those parties. It doesn't matter who you vote for...just don't vote Republican or Democrat...
- RetlawST, on 09/03/2008, -4/+17Did you even read the article? She delayed the closing of a state-run enterprise by firing the people who ran agricultural affairs and replacing them with unqualified cronies. After this, she proceeded to pump over $600K into the business that was already projected to fail, only to have most of that money dispersed as subsidies to boost local milk prices throughout the state. Even after this snafu, Palin effectively allowed a no-bid contract for all of the machinery and infrastructure to go to a friend of hers for free.
If you think she looks good after this affair, I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. - ftx437, on 09/03/2008, -11/+23Where the hell is all the biden is evil crap?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -3/+15Funny how people always think things like "Millions of dollars in dairy equipment ended up, at a steep discount, in the hands of a local Palin ally." are a coincidence.
Just like how haliburton made so much money off the war.
Total and complete coincidence.... keep drinking that koolade. - uu2b, on 09/03/2008, -13/+24Excellent article (as always) by Glen Greenwald:
"...Palin has a rather clear pattern of trying to use her power to advance personal grievances and fill government positions with political hacks, cronies, and those who are loyal to her politically -- exactly what has infected so much of the Federal Government over the last eight years. Far worse, shockingly little is known about what she actually thinks and believes, and what little is known suggests some rather extremist and even bizarre leanings, beginning with an attempt to ban books from her local library, even firing the head librarian for refusing to comply."
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/09/03/ ... - pstroll, on 09/03/2008, -28/+37Buried. These Palin stories are getting tiresome.
- MalarkeyPN, on 09/03/2008, -6/+15No. If you had read the story, you'd see she took a state enterprise that was failing and was going to be closed down, then decided to keep it open because it was a huge customer of her dairy friends, then decided to fire everyone on the board that was going to close it down, then repopulated the board with friends of her dairy friends, none of whom had any idea what they were doing.
In July, the reformatted organization lost $300,000 taxpayer dollars. In June it made $2,000 back apparently, but by the time Palin decided to kill the thing it had lost almost a million. Now the equipment has been sold to those dairy friends, like it probably would have anyway. Surely the Alaskan people could have put those $900,000 to better use.
One question: who benefits?
There is no way this can be said to make Sarah Palin look good. One more scandal on the board. - uu2b, on 09/03/2008, -1/+9@RealHyperX - Terrorism, really? Is that the best you have?
Nice lies, but your right-wingers are getting your ass handed to you because of McCains unvetted choice for VP. Great leadership skills. Enjoy your ***** sandwich in Nov.
Majority? - You must be counting Liberman as a Democrat. Once we win more senate seats, they're kicking his ass out. - proliance, on 09/03/2008, -3/+11How many more articles from dailykos am I going to see today that are labeled "Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate?"
'Cause the body count of kos articles is getting pretty high. - uu2b, on 09/03/2008, -8/+15Good luck. Try doing some reading, other than FOX. Tell me she's not the McSame as the rest. Reformer my ass. She's worse than the rest due to her religiosity. Seriously, she frickin' scary.
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/09/03/ ... - insomniac8400, on 09/03/2008, -5/+12I am just amazed McCain's campaign was able to find a female Dick Cheney. Bush must be delighted that McCain is trying to validate the current administration by basically trying to get the people to vote for another 4 years of the same thing.
- DerangedPenguin, on 09/03/2008, -3/+10From the DailyKos it is a lie.
- CedarPark, on 09/03/2008, -2/+9That cat has a spread on US weekly tomorrow. Catastic.
- jetboyterp, on 09/03/2008, -42/+50Oh, this is getting ridiculous. Every two minutes, it's more anti-Palin crap.
From such unbiased, reliable sources as Kos, HuffPoo, ThinkProgress, etc...
This is humorous...it really is. Keep panicking, libs! - sonofblacula, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7I'd like her daughter to milk me, if you know what I mean.
- EastBury, on 09/04/2008, -0/+6All I had to do, is read the title, and know it is true. The Mat-Su Dairy ordeal was a huge headache for Alaskans, farmers, and Juneau.
- TrueXtremeIcon, on 09/03/2008, -5/+10I thought it was absolutely mooving.
- PabloMac, on 09/03/2008, -5/+11"KOS" and "spam" = redundant and repetitive.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -36/+42She closed down a failing state run enterprise and sold it. State run businesses like this rarely succeed and it was right of her to cut her losses rather than continue spending taxpayer money to support something that would never be able to compete with private industry.
Find something else to smear her on, this story makes her look good. - niradg, on 09/03/2008, -13/+19You mean, she took a thriving state enterprise, turned it into a failing business, and closed it down. This is the typical GOP logic- we don't know how to make government work, so therefore it must never work.
- enantiodromia, on 09/03/2008, -4/+10you sound very well educated and well adjusted. certainly the kind of person we should all be listening to.
a few comments though:
a/ when you talk about "Diggers" in a derogatory way, it is amusing considering you belong to the set of {all people who use digg}
b/ Obama's $845,000,000,000 (with a B) over 13 years is much less than McCains plan to tax Americans on their health insurance, which he expects to come out to be about $3,000,000,000,000 (with a T) over 10 years.
c/ other countries having severe poverty is one of the main reasons there ARE terrorists. i know it's more fun to fight "terrorism" than to prevent it, but for Christ's sake, aren't we supposed to be helping less fortunate people? i mean, that's supposed to be the core of almost every religion. you do believe in Jesus, don't you? - kocurejd, on 09/03/2008, -3/+9Does he really need to try?
- xieodeluxed, on 09/03/2008, -12/+17This is starting to sound like Lois when she became the mayor of Quahog :)
- kyleforeman, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7Why is every Palin thread coming up as inaccurate?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -16/+21I also heard that Sarah Palin mishandled her cat's diet. If she can not feed her cat, how can she feed 300,000,000 of Americans?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5ANSWER : because whatever the source, Republicans aren't happy.
See : McCain's multiple rant against "reliable sources" (ie : all the MSM beside Fox News) . - stevesmithis, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5I love how every negative article about the GOP and Palin are marked as inaccurate lately.
- MorganMghee, on 09/03/2008, -3/+8the paid mccain bloggers and trollers. http://digg.com/search?s=mccain+blog+prize&submit= ...
- welestgw, on 09/03/2008, -3/+8What's the bets that it will end up in the next upcoming Palin article?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -8/+13She first funneled $600,000 in taxpayer money into the dairy.
She can't even shut down companies effectively. - bassjam5, on 09/03/2008, -2/+7Biden is pretty clean, but they are still digging for dirt.
That is why Obama picked him instead of a roll of the dice and hope it works management style of J M. I think Obama is far superior as Commander in Chief than the old man. - edgedmurasame, on 09/03/2008, -3/+8Pajamas Media supporters. If it's not part of the desired conservative message, demonize and silence the source.
- manoftheisland, on 09/03/2008, -5/+10ok lets start on obama then and all the stuff he is involved with that no one is talking about
1 Rev Wright... enough said
2 killing babies after they are born (i dont care if they were meant to be aborted they are still humans) voted 4 times to let them die
3 involved with william ayers.. yes he was stop trying to deny it
4 "inflating our tires will save us as much oil as drilling would bring us" he said it stop trying to deny it. - cadam, on 09/03/2008, -4/+9I live in Alaska. If I want to purchase milk from the ONLY dairy in the state, it costs me 5/gallon. I'm still pissed cause I spilled some while carrying in groceries (dropped the milk). I didn't cry, I yelled.
Sarah Palin has done ***** for Alaska. - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -5/+10Notice how this got dugg down? Liberals want you to back up your claim.
- Brain111, on 09/04/2008, -0/+4It seems like there is a new scandal about this woman every 30 minutes
- 4321234, on 09/03/2008, -2/+6The Peter principle states you only rise to your level of incompetence. I know Bush shattered that, but it's never too late to bring it back. If Palin has failed at everything from mother to mayor, why the hell should she get a crack at VP?
- krd1979, on 09/03/2008, -4/+8SERIOUSLY!! It's about time some people on digg have a little bit of sense. And the dairy thing is a non story anyway, she didn't mismanage, she actually saved tax payers money.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -1/+5I guess you're not aware that the Spoils System was invented by Andrew Jackson in 1828. Jackson was a Democrat.
The Spoils System has been ingrained in American politics for 170 years, and you bet your ass it's practiced by both parties. I don't like it, but this is no different than what any American politican has done in the past 170 years. - sonofblacula, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4Malenfant, you hit it on the head. The Democrats are lying adulterous scumbags, but at least their rational lying adulterous scumbags. I miss those days too.
RealyHyper, are you 12 years old or are you just an inbred fundamentalist? Marxism, communism, and terrorism? Someone call Joe McCarthy! -
