- tekhna, on 11/18/2008, -10/+556Remind me why we still care about Sarah Palin?
- CaseyJay, on 11/18/2008, -18/+304"Ignorant people tend to be stupid, and stupid people tend to be ignorant." Well put, sir. That washed-up pageant queen needs to go away now. Far, far away.
- skiner24, on 11/18/2008, -10/+231You betcha
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -3/+181Moron I'd Like to Forget.
- mrdeathgod, on 11/18/2008, -4/+146BREAKING: WATER FOUND TO BE WET
- indyGuy, on 11/18/2008, -11/+135Some folks just root for whomever is on their team. Unfortunately (for the Repubs), McCain picked a moron, and they felt she automatically deserved their support.
- TheOtherOne135, on 11/18/2008, -2/+85According to the article, because the "Palin 2012" notion hasn't faded as quickly as expected, so it could use a push.
- scottknick, on 11/18/2008, -1/+75Look, she bitches about activists judges but can't name a single SCOTUS ruling she disagrees with (other than Roe). She complains about the media but can't name a newspaper or magazine she reads regularly. It's pragmatic to at least know something about the things you're going to complain about.
On the other hand, that would disqualify the tinfoil-hat brigade on Digg. . . - Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -4/+70We don't have to believe the media, Hilblee, to draw our conclusions. I can tell from her interviews that she hasn't a clue. She couldn't put a coherent sentence together to save her life, and she is obviously incredibly ignorant about many things any person her age should know, let alone an elected official. Such ignorance is truly frightening. We dodged a bullet on this one and we will surely enjoy our *ahem* eight years...maybe 12 if the Republicans can't get over the fact that America is not a center-right nation.
- NinaOdell, on 11/18/2008, -5/+66Two word: Ronald Reagan.
Translation for the young: A middling, "aw shucks" B movie actor with a fairly disastrous Governorship of a large State (CA) somehow wins the Presidency. When he runs for re-election, he's even more popular and wins easily.
Hilarity ensues, except for the part where it doesn't. - kismetropolis, on 11/18/2008, -15/+74She is not secretly a genius?
*gasp*
I'm so shocked!
[/sarc] - Shady77, on 11/18/2008, -0/+45A handwriting expert figures she's smart? Huh. I've always inferred that from reading the words people write down, rather than looking at the swooshes and dots. Guess I've been doing it wrong...
- evilrevolution, on 11/18/2008, -2/+44Secretly a grandmother
- sinisterouge, on 11/18/2008, -8/+50Boom baby!
- brikj, on 11/18/2008, -8/+49Ronald Regan is NOT among the country's best presidents. The best thing that can be said about Reagan is that he didn't do anything too terrible. The Iran-Contra bit was terrible but at least it didn't sell American freedoms up the river like George the Second did.
Two landslide victories just means that a majority of Americans would rather feel good, than be good. And frankly, he didn't do squat to dismantle the Soviet Union. What he did do was escalate the arms race between the US and the USSR to a point where the economy of the USSR couldn't support the spending and the USSR fell apart as a result of that. The US economy could barely support it, the national debt exploded under Regan. We ended up in a recession during the term of his successor, George the First that cost him reelection. Remember "Its the economy stupid"? - GregFD3S, on 11/18/2008, -3/+42There are actually people out there that think Sarah Palin is smart?
- scottknick, on 11/18/2008, -1/+38Because: "Among Republicans, 66% of men and 61% of women say Palin is their choice for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012," according to a Rasmussen poll released on Nov. 7.
- CaptObvious, on 11/18/2008, -1/+38So that's why she went to five different colleges for her degree! For the text books! Thanks for clearing that up.
- lolupissed, on 11/18/2008, -4/+41cuz most guys would ***** her
- ironhide, on 11/18/2008, -3/+40Is Africa a continent? I knew it was. She didn't. That's not even a slip of the tongue or a misstatement, it's pure ignorance.
- atdigg, on 11/18/2008, -3/+37Did we watch the same debate?
- LeftieLucy, on 01/09/2009, -3/+37Seriously? Biden was clearly speaking as someone who had a deep well of knowledge on a variety of issues, and he was engaged and interested. He clearly hadn't had to spend the week memorising sound bites about relevant issues - he spoke from experience.
Palin ***** winked, sent a shout-out to third graders, spat out sound bites with mangled grammar and actually announced that she wasn't going to answer some of the questions. - Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -19/+51Sarah Palin explains why the Founding Fathers didn't trust the masses to do the right thing. They feared the rise of a demagogue and Sarah Palin is just that.
Speaking of her brain, I just watched a piece on CNN.com this morning about her handwriting. An expert said it showed she was very smart but that her thoughts were all over the place. She might be smart (I'm not convinced), but woefully ill-informed, and she is definitely unable to organize her thoughts (such as they are) into coherent sentences. She ranks right up there with Bush on that issue. - CaptObvious, on 11/18/2008, -2/+34I agree. That way, the Democrats will have an even easier win in 2012!
- Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -3/+35She didn't come close to whipping Joe. Joe took her down handily. At least Joe has intellect. He just misspeaks.
- CaptObvious, on 11/18/2008, -2/+31I think it's a scientifically proven fact that you don't have any real evidence to support the ***** that you just wrote there.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+29Because she thinks she is qualified to run the country in 2012 and that is a ***** horrifying thought.
- bearcat8543, on 11/19/2008, -2/+28um, hilary clinton was almost the dems nominee.
you not being able to understand how completely retarded sarah palin is needs to be studied. - Cadicus, on 11/18/2008, -3/+29You're right.. She's not stupid.. she's ignorant. There's a difference.
- Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -2/+28The media had nothing to do with Palin losing. Nor did she lose because she was a female. The only reason Palin lost is Palin herself. She hurt the ticket as much if not more than McCain himself hurt his own ticket. Nobody is afraid of Palin. There is no reason to be. As Shakespeare said, 'tis much ado about nothing.
- Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -1/+26As Media Matters for America has repeatedly demonstrated, the "liberal media elite" is a myth. If anything, the media helped McCain-Palin.
- Shiloah, on 11/18/2008, -2/+27Palin needs the excuse of stupidity, whether real or pretended, to cover her mean spirited self-serving thuggery. If she's not stupid, she needs to be. Otherwise, she's just plain old nasty.
- Batfishy, on 11/18/2008, -2/+26You sound like Bush. No in-betweens or anything, huh?
- ihaveasteak, on 11/19/2008, -0/+24Far, far away like....Alaska?
- Zippo, on 11/18/2008, -2/+26If it was a secret, it's a very well-kept secret. From the stuff that spewed out of her mouth, I'd never have figured it out.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -3/+27my thought exactly
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -2/+25and never return, ever.
- clankster, on 11/18/2008, -2/+25Obama's a self-made man who was the president of the Harvard Law Review. And you're equating him with Palin because they're both politicians?
Please refrain from voting until you can acquire some dominant genes. - Supergliding, on 11/18/2008, -5/+28Unfortunately she still has the religious wackos backing her... and she's still the best "fluffer" the macho men have had forever... so I'm guessing she's still a player.
- noangelcame, on 11/19/2008, -0/+22The reason why so many people have latched onto Sarah Palin is because they really believe she is the Republican answer to Barack Obama.
They don't see or accept that Barack Obama is highly intelligent and talented. They have convinced themselves that he's completely incapable and inexperienced to lead this nation. They also believe that the only reason he won this election is because he is black and charming. They've convinced themselves that this election, this year was all about identity as a gimmick.
The Republicans treat elections as if they are Corporations trying to sell cereal to children. They need a gimmick, a toy in the box, a cartoon character mascot, something to sell their ***** to the masses. Someone like Tony the Tiger,. or Joe the Plumber. So, they dress her up in colorful outfits and have her play up a cartoon version of a folksy person on TV, you betcha.
She's just a gimmick. Their only chance to beat Obama in 2012. It doesn't matter that she's demonstrated her lack of knowledge on every important issue facing this nation, she's a woman and she's somewhat charming and that's enough. Since to them, being black and charming is all that got Obama elected. - mywhitenoise, on 11/18/2008, -1/+23Well that, and his erratic decision of picking an idiot for his running mate.
- JedicodeWarrior, on 11/18/2008, -2/+24Calling Palin stupid is an insult to stupid people.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -1/+23I didn't listen to the press, I listened to Sarah Palin. Quite frankly, she is an idiot.
- Gemfinder, on 11/18/2008, -0/+21She thinks she's qualified to run the country *NOW*.
- thegrantman, on 11/18/2008, -1/+22This is what blew the election:
1. McCains' ties to the Bush administration.
2.The economy
3.Sarah Palin. - scottknick, on 11/18/2008, -4/+24"Sarah Palin explains why the Founding Fathers didn't trust the masses to do the right thing."
But the masses _did_ do the right thing, at least this time. They sent Caribou Barbie packing. - Poblasai, on 11/19/2008, -0/+19"The ignorant Obama's supporters"...
A word of advice, you should make an attempt at proper grammar/proofreading when calling people ignorant. - Alheithinn, on 11/18/2008, -1/+20I dunno, Hilblee, since you're busy explaining to the 52% of us that we're blinded by a media bias that doesn't exist. I'd say you're the one being all knowing here, not me. I'm just explaining to you why the 52% (that's the majority) think she's an idiot.
And she didn't have to prepare for all of history - just the things that are important right now. Even Palin now admitted in one of her interviews that Couric's questions weren't out of line. She just didn't know, and she should have. Hell, she couldn't even remember what she read. - Supergliding, on 11/18/2008, -0/+18Well if you go searching youtube for McCain videos, you'll find he was a very different McCain in 2000, when running against Bush. Somewhere this year he lost his identity and just followed instructions from his stupid campaign committee. They're what lost him the election. The only REAL McCain I saw was when he gave his concession speech.
