EVERY single news anchor or reporter has had to do something ridiculous before....Sanjay is a well respected and knowledgable medical reporter, not only is he well known in the US, he is also known internationally since he comes up on CNN International quite alot.
  • inactive, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4He's not stupid, he knows it works. He's probably educated enough to know the history (and therefore also the somewhat-hidden history of drugwar-racism). The point is that Sanjay's entirely in big pharma's pocket, and big pharma does not like the idea of you growing something in your backyard that is always safer & in many cases works better than their expensive, patented, dangerous products.

    Sanjay's hardly unique. Check just the boner-drug commercials on your TV for an idea of big pharma's enormous financial power & media-clout. Most politicians are also in big pharma's pockets, which is why the silver lining to the latest fiscal ***** MIGHT be an end to prohibition, since a fiscal ***** (& tax consequences from it) is what worked on alcohol prohibition last time.

If you think Obama is an evil leftist and is appointing a bunch of leftists, you're completely in another universe. To catch you up, the big fuss all over political blog sites is the fact Obama has hardly been living up to his promise of Change. Most of his appointments have been center-right, moderate Republican, and mainstream types. He's been notably silent in regards to the middle-east, deferring that issue to Bush, which is a rather center-right Democrat approach to the issue (ignore it or make vague statements about both sides needing to stop, but especially the Palestinians, and they need to make peace, especially the Palestinians)
