Can Katie Couric edit this one out too? - multilee, on 07/23/2008, -2/+11Geeze Grampy McGaffe, you sure know how to keep your facts straight!
- Insightful, on 07/23/2008, -2/+14When facts cannot support it, McCain and his people simply just lies and hope no one catches them! Damn liberal facts!
Summary for those not who have not read the article:

Summary: "A bomb had killed Abdul Sattar Abu Risha, the founder of a movement of Sunni leaders who turned against al Qaeda in Iraq, who are also Sunnis, and transformed Anbar from one of Iraq's deadliest areas into one of its safest."
"Only Sattar could have gotten the Awakening movement started. " MacFarland said - Lspook63, on 07/24/2008, -1/+4Yes, but really, the point is: will the media really cover this? How many free passes does this guy get?!! I swear half of the country is completely unaware how senile this guy really is. He's clueless.

- storyFX, on 07/23/2008, -1/+11You know this specific "gaffe" really doesn't matter when you see the press fail to call McCain out on his --- repeatedly --- and repeatedly --- stating that Obama would "rather lose a war than an election." That is crossing the line in so many ways.
- alapoet, on 07/23/2008, -0/+13The Facts have clearly been shown to have a "liberal bias"!
- airmorphone, on 07/23/2008, -2/+1Yes! Score one for the good guys. Now all we need is for McCain to just keep doing what he's doing.
- malex, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5Considering we're talking about a Sheik getting murdered, "score one for the good guys" is a poor choice of words.
Instead of cheerleading for various non-existent sides, we should recognize this for what it is: A choice between a leader who is aware of how bad the situation is and (hopefully) the best way out of it, and a second leader who doesn't even know the guy he was talking about is dead.

- itbescott, on 07/24/2008, -1/+7Man, how many of these is he going to make? I'm not trying to be mean to the man. In all seriousness, does he have a problem with his memory due to his age? At first I just though it was a good ribbing (albeit, sometimes mean) when people joked about it but slowly I'm starting to wonder if he does have moments where he's not remembering things correctly.
- BUI2008, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3True Sheikh Abd al Risha, the "architect" of the Awakening movement was assassinated by a suicide bomber shortly after the troop surge began.
McCain really knows nothing about Iraq. The only people who know about Iraq, are Iraqis, and people who have been there for more than a few days, without heavy helicopter gunship and tank support. Sadr City is a dump where the Iraqi Army and Mahdi Militia fight each other today. Things have a tendency to quiet down when you have Apaches and M1 Abrams tanks nearby.
www.brokenunderinterrogation.blogspot.com - helliottlaw, on 07/24/2008, -2/+2Anbar Shiek sounds like Admiral Ackbar - facepalm (look at picture)...
- shutaro, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1It's a trap!
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1So what is HuffPoo trying to claim? That the surge was a failure or that the Awakening was a failure?
- Insightful, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Duh, HuffingtonPost is saying that BohicaTwentyTwo is a failure for not understanding that McCain is a failure!
- PolishLogic, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1And I still don't really give a sheik.
