- OldAtlantic, on 01/07/2008, -2/+49Sibel Edmonds is a true lioness. Brad Blog and others who have kept this story alive deserve our thanks.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -6/+43none of our media will come close to reporting on this article... especially with all the latest Brittney and Paris stories they have to cover..WAKE UP SHEEPLE.....
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+30I had the privilege to meet Ms. Edmonds at the American Library Association convention. She is one courageous woman, a genuine role model.
- coffeeteaorme, on 01/07/2008, -2/+30Great job covering a story that should have swept the US by now. People should be in prison by now. Maybe Congress will finally be forced to do something if this story catches fire around the globe.
- thisislil, on 01/07/2008, -1/+29Thank you Brad of Brad Blog and thank you Sibel, you ARE a brave woman and deserve our respect and protection. Truth to power! Tell us more Sibel.
- rossini22, on 01/07/2008, -2/+30this story should be plastered all over da place, real quick ! It would help to stifle the voices a few dishonest people on the campaign trail(in the Big Circus Arena) where only yesterday, the big issue was al-Queda, the A-bomb and how UhMuhriKKKa must be ready to stop these "fanatics". If they only knew.
- fairley7, on 01/07/2008, -2/+28It's surprising that the article didn't mention our government's complicity, in violation of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, in Pakistan's acquisition of nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them. Especially with the Hollywood tie-in, the very misleading movie Charlie Wilson's War. Here's a quote from a Seymour Hersh New Yorker article, 3/27/1993:
"...the Reagan Administration had dramatically aided Pakistan in its pursuit of the bomb. President Reagan and his national-security aides saw the generals who ran Pakistan as loyal allies in the American proxy war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan: driving the Russians out of Afghanistan was considered far more important than nagging Pakistan about its building of bombs.."
This traitorous behavior was uncovered by another whistle-blowing hero, Richard M. Barlow, who is now living in a trailer park for attempting to get the truth to the American people. One of the people who stabbed him in the back was then-defense secretary Dick Cheney. See the recent Guardian article, "The Man Who Knew Too Much," 10/13/2007. - BigMommaLurka, on 01/07/2008, -2/+25This is a remarkable tale. It should have been on the front page of every American paper years ago. It should be on 10 minute "breaking news" rotation on every *Paris Hilton pimple counting* cable network for the next 80 weeks, or however long it takes for people to be charged, tried, convicted and jailed...
- jaymzdean, on 01/07/2008, -1/+22Sibel Edmonds knows facts that would send most Americans into a cognitively dissonant seizure.
- Napoleone, on 01/07/2008, -1/+19This woman has the goods on a lot of treasoness *****. Anyone who arrests this woman for exposing traitors needs to be arrested for being a traitor themselves.
- jasperjed, on 01/07/2008, -2/+19Interesting quote: "We need to get them out of the US because we can’t afford for them to spill the beans." Spill the beans about what? That members of the American government conspired to provide information and support in the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings? That Al Quaeda is a construct, designed to drive up the price of oil and to provide an excuse to fund military operations in the Middle East forever?
- RLG1111, on 01/07/2008, -1/+18Don't forget....she was a translator.......imagine what all she really did hear?!?!?!....and the gag order has been in place for 5 years....maybe she can only release so much at a time, and how do we really know what all the questions are she is asked each time?? Just food for thought. Where there is smoke there is fire. At this point, she is too "hot" for the goons to do away with her.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -3/+15RE: "she said the government knew there was an attack planned..."
This is a confirmed fact. Google the phrase "bin laden determined to strike in US." - inactive, on 01/07/2008, -0/+9So which part of her testimony do you not believe and which part do you know to be true?
You imply you know some her story to be true, but do not want others to not believe any of it. That seems intellectually dishonest, wouldn't you agree? - inactive, on 01/07/2008, -0/+8She also heard of drug-running activity. The recent crash of a CIA-registered jet with 4 tons of cocaine in Mexico illustrates the level of criminal actions by high-placed members of the government. I'm not surprised that now, in the light of recent news about Pakistan, she went public over treasonous selling of nuclear secrets by people in this corrupt administration. What bothers me is how much more she has hinted at but has been ordered not to tell. The last 7 years have been a very long time, for a lot to happen.
- HereticHulk, on 01/07/2008, -3/+10Huffington Post has it here and they name names!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/larisa-alexandrovna/ ... - inactive, on 01/07/2008, -0/+69/11 = Neocon Inside job . Sibel knows...
- thecatcantalk, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5Somewhere in Hell, Kim Philby is giggling over a pitcher of martinis, while giving Josef Stalin a hand job. WTF? If any of these accusations are true, it doesn't matter; with Bush in office the traitors will never be punished. More likely, they'll be given Congressional Medals of Honor, and a seat on the board of ExxonMobil.
- fixty, on 01/07/2008, -0/+5From the 12:06pm Update to the story (the last part is especially noteworthy):
The Times article then notes something that I reported 18 months ago. Immediately after 911, the FBI arrested a bunch of people suspected of being involved with the attacks - including four associates of key targets of FBI's counterintelligence operations. Sibel heard the targets tell Marc Grossman: "We need to get them out of the US because we can’t afford for them to spill the beans." Grossman duly facilitated their release from jail and the suspects immediately left the country without further investigation or interrogation.
Let me repeat that for emphasis: The #3 guy at the State Dept facilitated the immediate release of 911 suspects at the request of targets of the FBI's investigation.
...and this...
high-level Pentagon officials were maintaining 'dossiers' on the sexual and financial proclivities of their underlings in order to be able to blackmail them.
I know that many of you have been (rightly) concerned about FISA, and many of you have (rightly) been confused by the inexplicable behaviour of Democrats in Congress, and wonder why they behave as though they are being blackmailed.
Now you know. - ccheath, on 01/07/2008, -1/+5http://digg.com/politics/Larisa_Alexandrovna_Sibel ...
- medicis, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4Nonsense. That would only have provided even more credibility for her. And you better believe all that she would have said is hidden away and available in just such a contingency. You are simply conintelpro.
- williamdyer, on 01/07/2008, -0/+4If we manage to get Bush and Cheney out of office without going to war with Iran, I hope she gets the Nobel Peace Prize.
- obliviousfool, on 01/07/2008, -0/+3Our media outlets; the ball; they have dropped it.
- RLG1111, on 01/07/2008, -1/+3WE CAN ONLY HOPE!
- wakananda, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2I can't hear you; I have tinfoil in my ears - godblessamericagodblessamericagodblessamerica...
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -0/+2go ahead, keep your head in the sand. Cuz American's are a bunch of fat- ignorant -slovenly- domesticated- brain- dead -pill -popping zombies. Just keep telling yourself a bunch of hijackers armed with box cutters were able to outmanuever the most sophisticated air defense in the history of the world.
- medicis, on 01/07/2008, -1/+2Child.
- justgenius12, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS?????!!!
- tobymikle, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Finally!
- euping, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Funny, now when you look back, you can see they had one of the bases covered...if Al Gore was president they had Lieberman as VP! Lieberman is such a traitor to the Democratic Party, he's not even a Democrat anymore! Who's idea was it to pick Lieberman as Gore's VP? Also, remember Gore wouldn't endorse Lieberman on his run for president, and everyone thought that was odd, since he was Gore's VP pick?
- AreWeFreeOrWhat, on 01/08/2008, -0/+1Previous poster is right. Print a few copies of it and leave them lying around in doctors offices, oil change shops,,,anywhere there is waiting rooms and magazines. Or, anywhere and everywhere for that matter. Do it with all subject matters that you want to get to word out on. Freedom is not free. RON PAUL for President, Hope for America!
- londubh, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1Geez, you are even more paranoid than I am.
- graphictruth, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1No, that's simple and very standard operating procedure for any agent (in any agency) of any government - document everything, keep copies in a safe place and with contingencies.
- dreamtiger, on 01/07/2008, -1/+1I love it! Go ahead, make my day!
- ixid, on 01/07/2008, -3/+3I'd hit it.
- mydave, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Sibel Edmonds, the former FBI translator who has been under a Bush administration gag order for the past 5 years, has now begun to disclose some of the classified information she has been prohibited from revealing.

I love how you assume the liar is the citizen giving up her life to fight corruption, and you've sided with the proven liars. - londubh, on 01/07/2008, -3/+1Youtube or it didn't happen. That would be so cool.
- londubh, on 01/07/2008, -4/+1If the allegations are as bad as they are hinted at why hasn't Sibel met an untimely demise? Yeah, it's bad, but if what she knows was enough to bring Bush and Cheney down, I think she'd be dead already.
- gsadamb, on 01/07/2008, -5/+2I wish whoever posted this would have not have made the Digg entry so obnoxious. People are going to focus on that instead of the (quite intriguing and disheartening) story.
- x0epyon0x, on 01/07/2008, -9/+2So that's where 1995's missing animated GIF and site layout went...
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -11/+3Tard. I KNOW this is a "fact". The FACT is, she said the government know an attack was coming (like I said). The FACT is she SAID, "they didn't know a date, city, or target".
So, NOW she is loaded with "info". Which Sibel do I believe?
Why the ***** are people digging you up? - mparker7410, on 01/07/2008, -9/+1Buried for the title being truncated and an unnecessary amount of capitalization in both description and title.
- toki123, on 01/07/2008, -13/+3Caps lock is cruise control for cool.
- kerpalh, on 01/07/2008, -17/+3NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE CAPSLOCK
- SRSco, on 01/07/2008, -18/+2BREAKING.....IN OTHER NEWS UNRELATED TO THE SHIFT KEY THERE IS A DRUDGE SIREN ON THE BLAG THIS LINKS TO....DEVELOPING....
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -21/+3Perhaps the reason this story hasn't garnered the attention many of you want, is Sibel's multiple versions of her story, and how it gets deeper and deeper every time she tells it.
When she first testified, under oath, she said the government knew there was an attack planned. She said they didn't know when, where, or how, but there was an attack coming. That was under oath.
I am willing to hear her out. She was apparently privy to some key conversations. But every time she talks, she adds more and more. It is as if she wants us to believe she listened in to every conversation in every government clandestine operation. I just have a hard time believing her, as she goes more and more out there...
Since that time, the more popular she has become, the more her story has changed. Every telling now adds some new deep conspiracy, details, etc.

What is Digg?
