- bixby1, on 03/28/2008, -24/+9Protesting the war is one thing but Halliburton seems pretty cool, right? I think I ran over a kid that worked there once and his mom was really nice about the whole thing.
- Ayavaron, on 03/28/2008, -2/+1I understand that that the joke is a little bit mean in spirit and that it might confuse some people due to a lack of irony tags but this is pretty funny in a subtle and clever way. We can all agree that bixby1's joke was sorta funny, right?
- JettaMan, on 03/28/2008, -8/+9MichaelMoore.com? Are you kidding me? Buried.
- kleenex1, on 03/28/2008, -11/+19Down with Dick, Bush, Halliburton, and special interest groups working against democracy
- hermslice, on 03/28/2008, -10/+10you do know that America is not a democracy.....seriously look up the word.. we are not a democracy, we are closer to a republic
- ventralnet, on 03/28/2008, -1/+15a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
- MacEnvy, on 03/28/2008, -4/+6And a representative democracy.
- sigg14, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.
- sigg14, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2I was about to digg you until I read "closer to a republic". I didn't bury you however, but you must know the USA is a Republic.
- PongGod, on 03/29/2008, -0/+2Yeah, in theory anyway. But, since the Constitution was pretty much abandoned many generations ago, it's all a moot point.
- ventralnet, on 03/28/2008, -1/+15a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
- hermslice, on 03/28/2008, -10/+10you do know that America is not a democracy.....seriously look up the word.. we are not a democracy, we are closer to a republic

- CuffLInk, on 03/28/2008, -3/+17haha... I was hoping to find a burn like this...
- beargrylls, on 03/28/2008, -3/+13I deserve it, that was pitiful.

/s - Y0tsuya, on 03/28/2008, -2/+9Hey, their daddies and mommies paid for the tuition. It's not like they ever had to work to make a living.
- kevcowiffle, on 03/29/2008, -1/+2So... I took that photo. And Michael Moore used with without my permission. Should I, like, do something about this?
- PongGod, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1What would you do?
- 1longtime, on 03/28/2008, -4/+85You "payed" for tuition, but I "paid" for tuition and actually went to class.
- schavira, on 03/28/2008, -3/+26No one will be watching them, why don't they do it in the road?

- lexington86, on 03/28/2008, -5/+32Haha... Michael Moore's website is blocked by PG2
- Gerbil_Juice, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Not by mine. Which filter subscriptions do you have?

- Gerbil_Juice, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Not by mine. Which filter subscriptions do you have?
- illwil, on 03/28/2008, -8/+25"Approximately 300 people marched in support of peace in the Middle East and ending the U.S. occupation of Iraq."
Because the U.S. occupation is the last remaining straw preventing peace in the Middle East?- MacEnvy, on 03/28/2008, -6/+14It sure as hell isn't helping the matter.
- arpad, on 03/28/2008, -9/+6Actually, it's pretty close to the best thing that could be done to encourage peace in the Mideast.
About the only thing that would be better would be for Iraq to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel.
Short of that feeding lots of jihadis into Uncle Sams sausage grinder works pretty well.- MrWhite7, on 03/28/2008, -5/+3I assume you're writing this from your tent in between convoys?
- OralCavity, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4it's a good thing that "feeding" them to the "sausage grinder" isn't creating anymore jihadis, right?
oh wait.... - AceKicker, on 03/28/2008, -3/+0Despite what the nay-sayers say, fact is arpad is right. You may not like the "occupation" in Iraq, but if you're going to preach about peace in the middle east, then well... you're gonna have to break some eggs to make That omelet.
- PaleGhost, on 03/28/2008, -7/+3Naa. it's more likely due to you have your head so far up your stinking ass. When was the last time there was peace in the middle east? Not for many years. Isreal vs Arabs, Arabs vs Arabs.
There is no such thing as peace in the middle east.- thedogfatherx, on 03/28/2008, -5/+2I agree. I don't think there will EVER be peace in the middle east. They are ***** two ways from Sunday. Hopefully they eventually become extinct. Ha!
- SoxSweepAgain, on 03/28/2008, -4/+6And George Bush has done everything possible to ***** up any chance of peace.
- slvrbullet87, on 03/28/2008, -3/+4because it was so ***** peaceful under clinton?
- thedogfatherx, on 03/28/2008, -4/+4No. It wasn't peaceful before Bush and it will not be peaceful after Bush. You need to stop blaming all the problems on Bush. Jesus.
- sandeskimo, on 03/28/2008, -1/+4I agree with thedogfatherx. . . Blame Jesus.
/That's how I read it at first. Late day at work.
- tomahawk0122, on 03/28/2008, -1/+5Actually, the Ottoman empire was one of the most peaceful establishments in history. After WW1 the allied leaders got on their hands and knees and divided it in places that make no sense. That's one reason I think that we have a responsiblity to try our best to force peace, because we're the reason it isn't peaceful.
- positron, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Seems logical to me. First step in treating a wound is cleansing any infection.
- flip2trip, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1So now American Troops are an "infection"? gaaaahhhhh someone needs to kick you in the nuts!
- reaper527, on 03/28/2008, -6/+3your dealing with modern day hippies, you can't win an argument with them, as they don't need to justify their position with logic
- 98percentcogdis, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1Are you going to add something intelligent to the conversation, or just rant about the people that protested the useless war in Vietnam, which, btw, is the main reason that Nixon finally extracted the US from that useless war that killed and maimed soooooo many. Hopefully, when they come back from Iraq they will be treated with much more respect than the Vietnam Veterans were treated.
- aarons3, on 03/31/2008, -0/+0Do you know how many innocent Vietnamese died when we extracted ourselves from that mess because of our own domestic politics? You could look it up, but I'll tell you: all estimates are more than a million (viet cong didn't keep perfect records of how many millions of people they killed). Oh, and ever heard of the Khmer Rouge? The Cambodian communists who took over right after we left the area? Yeah, more than 2 million human beings killed. War sucks. We all hate war. But I'd rather have American soldiers dying to protect millions of innocent people. We're Americans! We're not interested in saving a few soldiers' lives and letting a whole nation burn in the process.
- jax1492, on 03/28/2008, -10/+13Im going to be honest here, I like Michael Moore and hate the war, but if you want to make a point about the war you probably want a better source to make that point.

- ventralnet, on 03/28/2008, -25/+41ugh i feel dirty from going to michael moore's site.. What a douchebag
- SoxSweepAgain, on 03/28/2008, -18/+12That's asinine. He's one of America's strongest patriots. He's a little shrill sometimes, but I admire his courage greatly.
- slvrbullet87, on 03/28/2008, -10/+7No he is a fat annoying piece of *****
- ventralnet, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1His 'documentaries' are biased. He is basically just a 'shock jock' of the documentary circuit
- SoxSweepAgain, on 03/28/2008, -18/+12That's asinine. He's one of America's strongest patriots. He's a little shrill sometimes, but I admire his courage greatly.
- AmishJedi, on 03/28/2008, -19/+13I'm proud to say I was part of this march.. it was an awesome experience.
- Y0tsuya, on 03/28/2008, -5/+2How's it feel to waste the tuition money your mommy and daddy worked hard to pay for? While you're out protesting, others are studying hard to learn skills they could use in a competitive job market. Better brush up on "you want fries with that?"
- carterbaldwin, on 03/29/2008, -2/+3I really don't understand why you're getting dugg down. I remember my first protest, walking out of my high school to protest the beginning of the war.
- johneyoung, on 03/28/2008, -9/+10Just out of curiosity, if someone wasn't paying attention while driving for a split second and turned some of the protesters into speed bumps, would the person driving be charged with murder?
- kittnerrules, on 03/28/2008, -5/+3Good point. (just to be an anal ass... vehicular manslaughter)
- Digger1218, on 03/28/2008, -4/+5I would have idled through them. Not to hit anyone or disrespect, but I gotta work and can't be slowed on my way to work, no matter how noble the cause. Stick to the sidewalks or at least march somewhere. Sitting in an intersection is simply arrogant.
- erasmus0284, on 03/28/2008, -4/+2Amen, that would have totally turned me off to their cause.
- absurdist, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2Wow... another just wow moment. I'm glad you have your priorities straight. After all, the possibility you might be five or ten minutes late for work is obviously far more important than the carnage that's happening in iraq. And you have the brass to call THEM arrogant.
- AceKicker, on 03/28/2008, -2/+1Calm down there Annie Oakley, He's not saying they shouldn't protest, he's just saying that they shouldn't do it in the middle of an intersection for the fact that there ARE other people in this world that have ***** to do. Yes the "war" in Iraq is a very important topic, but it's not the ONLY thing one should be concerned about, I.E. going to work.
- Digger1218, on 03/29/2008, -2/+2Wow is right, I have to work for a living and don't have a job that affords me the luxury of being late because some kids who's parents can pay for tuition want to make a point. These kids want to protest for a cause they feel strongly about and I support their right to do so, but by blocking a whole intersection they infringe upon my right to go about my business in a peaceable fashion. They are arrogant for thinking that everyone has the same amount of spare time that they do.
- Pillage, on 03/28/2008, -14/+5Go make another moving about fast food or whatever it is you do.

- SoxSweepAgain, on 03/28/2008, -2/+8"Support the Troops" is SO mis-used. Support them by leaving them as the middlemen in a civil war while they get killed, maimed and psychologically traumatized for NOTHING? Yeah, support the ***** troops by bringing them the ***** HOME.
- bingobongony, on 03/28/2008, -4/+3As opposed to all the anti-Bush signs with the same double entendre that you probably DID think is clever at the time?
- pintomp3, on 03/28/2008, -1/+1do you expect any less from generation chickenhawk?

- TonyLocNE, on 03/28/2008, -0/+4/joking
Does that help? It was meant in jest. - MrWhite7, on 03/29/2008, -1/+1I just assumed it was a comment based on whatever was learned in undergraduate classes today, like the rest of Digg. No offense intended.
- TonyLocNE, on 03/28/2008, -0/+4/joking
- floorman56, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Google Battle of Thermopylae
I did
Thermopylae is primarily known for the battle that took place there in 480 BC, in which an outnumbered Greek force of approximately 7,000 (including the famous 300 Spartans
So they are about 7000 short
- MrWhite7, on 03/28/2008, -3/+5a single similarity does not a valid comparison make.

- camaroz06, on 03/28/2008, -2/+10Collages, I bet you meant colleges. You should wish for a hooked on phonics book with a dictionary instead of a Hummer.
- thedogfatherx, on 03/28/2008, -7/+2Such a gay typical remark on digg. "Your dumb. You check your spelling" "Use correct grammar" *****.....stick to your own ***** business. Who gives a *****.

- foofoobee, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4You sound like a jackass and your comments carry far less weight when you can't even distinguish between "your" and "you're".
- thedogfatherx, on 03/28/2008, -3/+2You should become an english teacher instead of caring about other peoples grammar on a stupid little comment on dig. You must be a person who bitches and complains about everything.
- carterbaldwin, on 03/29/2008, -2/+1^ Says the person bitching and complaining about everything.
- username7D8, on 03/28/2008, -5/+2anyone who cares that much about the grammar in someones post really needs to GET A ***** LIFE. unreal!

- SoxSweepAgain, on 03/28/2008, -5/+5Someone who makes fun of "collages" should try another website: RedStatesUSA or AnnCoulter.com
They're much more dumbed down for you right-wing idiots.- username7D8, on 03/28/2008, -4/+3first off I wasn't making fun of the "collage", everyone pretty much knows colleges are extremely liberal. I was making a comment. Second, its pretty ignorant of you to assume my level of education by a couple grammar mistakes on digg. this is not a professional ***** forum jackass.
- carterbaldwin, on 03/29/2008, -2/+2Link to professional ***** forum plz?
- username7D8, on 03/28/2008, -4/+1ohh and I forgot... Ann Coulter is an insult to the republican party.

- digitizit, on 03/28/2008, -11/+34Michael Moore makes me want to puke. He's just as far left as Bush is to the right. Anyone on either extreme is a nut-job in my opinion.
- MrWhite7, on 03/28/2008, -2/+2I'm discouraged that you think George Bush is far right.
- pintomp3, on 03/28/2008, -2/+6yeah, michael moore is a douchebag. how dare he not want more american troops to die in a war so corporations can keep profiting.
- Teh1337Pirate, on 03/28/2008, -8/+28buried for linking michael (douche) moore's website
- clarient, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2If there was a way for me to take back my individual contibution to the massive increase in traffic his site is seeing right now, I would.
- flip2trip, on 03/29/2008, -0/+2Oh, so that's his middle name.
- CaptTu, on 03/28/2008, -9/+17Buried for taking me to Michael Moore's website.
- Chassit, on 03/28/2008, -10/+17Michael Moore, may as well been Rush Limbaugh. Both are propagandists.

- camaroz06, on 03/28/2008, -6/+1whoops this was supposed to be a reply to someone up above...DIGG ME DOWN, sorry bout the repost
- serif69, on 03/28/2008, -7/+4I don't pay my taxes so the government can subsidize some douchebag's tuition so he can walk in the middle of the street proclaiming his ignorance to the world. Wait, apparently I do. *sigh* I hate this state.
- haterofps3, on 03/28/2008, -1/+5So you should have a say in what a student does in their free time just because you pay taxes? You seem pretty ignorant of your country not to mention the world.
- Programous, on 03/28/2008, -6/+7As someone who goes to Rutgers, just let it be known that there are 40,000 undergrads, 300/40,000 == nothing. All they did is ***** off people by because the buses changed there roots to avoid them.
- foofoobee, on 03/28/2008, -2/+9"there"? "roots"? "by because"? Wow... and you're one of the less dumb kids from this school? That's scary. I'm surprised you guys didn't have more of these morons participating in the march.
- ahoyhoy, on 03/28/2008, -3/+2As someone who goes to University of Maryland, please inform the rest of your New Jersey kind to stay the hell outta my state.
- nohitter151, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3Who the hell wants to go to Maryland??
- kds405, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3I go to Rutgers and I (and many many of my fellow New Jerseyites) will gladly stay out of your state of nothingness. Does Maryland even exist? Or, is it a figment of a boring persons imagination?
- rush4life, on 03/28/2008, -9/+10Buried because Michael Moore is an asshole.
- bingobongony, on 03/28/2008, -7/+8My god Digg...a link to MichaelMoore.com made it to the front page.
This is embarrassing.- iainc, on 03/28/2008, -7/+4Tell me something: why is it that you haven't committed suicide, yet? I really feel it is an option you should consider.
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Bingobongony_Trolls_all_ ...- Digger1218, on 03/28/2008, -0/+4lol Owned.
- bingobongony, on 03/29/2008, -2/+1How does that hurt me at all?
- bingobongony, on 03/29/2008, -2/+1Considering you will kil yourself in Setember, you will be dead long before me. You have nothing to live for.
- Digger1218, on 03/28/2008, -0/+4lol Owned.
- iainc, on 03/28/2008, -7/+4Tell me something: why is it that you haven't committed suicide, yet? I really feel it is an option you should consider.
- NelsonR, on 03/28/2008, -3/+7It's about time students mimicked those protesters in the Vietnam ear. Congratulations to the Rutgers students, where are the other colleges? The war is wrong, Bush is wrong and meanwhile we are in a continued morass without dissent. Wake up America and get rid of our corrupt elitist Cheney type empowerment. We of late, have sunk to new lows and it will take the youth of this generation to have some little change and hope. Myself I despise what America has now become and Cheney's recent remarks about everything is putrid.
- bingobongony, on 03/28/2008, -5/+1merica despises you. So, we're even.
- iainc, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Actually, you'd probably be fairly high on [A]merica's *****-list, and you're an American.
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Bingobongony_Trolls_all_ ...
Had enough yet? I could do this all month long? - NelsonR, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3And you are a good little Neo Con follower who emulate the 80 percent of Americans who have no mind, no leadership, no convictions but only that good little boy who follows. Use your own brain without the need for a nationalistic ideology.
- iainc, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Actually, you'd probably be fairly high on [A]merica's *****-list, and you're an American.
- defwheezer, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1The NeoCon strategy: No Draft = No Demonstrations; and yes, mercenaries make it a viable (if not repugnant) strategy.
- bingobongony, on 03/28/2008, -5/+1merica despises you. So, we're even.
- TonyLocNE, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3What are you serious? These people were allowed to disrupt traffic in a street and without a permit and were not tazed or beaten with clubs? This is an outrage!

If you're not sure why I wrote this.. Read 90% of the comments from here -->http://digg.com/people/NYC_Cops_Beating_Up_Protest ...- Patrickdnj, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Yeah.................my father actually patrolled that, since he is a cop in New Brunswick............and I know most of the police there, and they are some of the few who aren't actually corrupted..................

b. less credible than sourcing a story from my nutsack.

The student body is made up solely of humans. - Plantagenet, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.
Why did the Rutgers students sit down in the road? Because they don't even have the common sense of a chicken. - bingobongony, on 03/28/2008, -5/+8There was a protest in my city last week. A bunch of college kids decided to walk down a main highway with signs. They were blocking BOTH lanes of a two lane highway in one direction. And this was not a "main street" where cars usually go 10 MPH between lights. This was a highway where the speeds where they were are usually 45 MPH or more. They actually did cause one accident, and damn near got a few of themselves killed.
When the cops came they refused to get off the road. They claimed that their First Amendment rights allowed them to do it. (Some dumb bitch who apparently thinks that as long a you are doing something in the name of free speech, you are allowed to break any law you want.) The cops even allowed them to stay in one lane as long as they were COMPLETELY off the other. They still kept creeping over to the other lane. Finally the cops tried to form a human chain to get them off the road and the protestors started wacking them with their signs.
Then THEY complained about being pepper sprayed. (Both the cops dashboard cams and security cameras from a plaza parking lot showed that the protestors started the violence.) One morons was interviewed on the news after getting bailed out saying that he knew for a fact his charge would be thrown out in court. When asked why, he very smugly said "When he was arresting me, I asked why he didn't read me my rights. He said that I watch too much TV and that he didn't not need to do that at this time. So I was unlawfully arrested."
That was HILARIOUS. The cop is exactly right. This kid obviously DOES watch too much TV. The cop never interrogated him. Hence, he did NOT need to read him his Miranda rights prior to putting him in the car and taking him to the police station. Of course, if you watch TV cops shows, it sure seems like they MUST read you your rights as they are putting the handcuffs on you. But that is not the case.
I was VERY tempted to go to court the day they were arraigned just to see the look on his face when he asked for the case to be dropped on those grounds and had the law explained to him.- rockstarhour, on 04/03/2008, -0/+11. The first three grafs of this comment make a point, and protesting on a highway does seem pretty ridiculous.
2. You've obviously never taken a law class. Based on his having not been given his Miranda Rights, the protester is most likely right about getting his case dropped.

- ohhoe, on 03/28/2008, -6/+8I'm liberal, but Michael Moore is ***** annoying. He's just exploiting the 'issues' to make bank off his ridiculous docs.

- form3hide, on 03/28/2008, -6/+8Rutgers blows. Those hippies ran into my class last year and demanded everyone go outside to participate in the marsh. Everyone looked around for a few seconds and then the professor started to lecture again.
- rawnzilla, on 03/28/2008, -4/+2I live across the bridge from New Brunswick and I didn't hear about this. To be honest, I was passed out the entire day yesterday. That'll teach me to take pixie sticks anally.

300 hippies holding signs, congesting traffic, and being an utter annoyance didn't do ***** to stop the war, nor bring any actual awareness.- BESTenemy, on 03/28/2008, -0/+3Neither did the elected democrats.

- reaper527, on 03/28/2008, -1/+1why would he worry about health issues? he can go a cuban hospital if he has a heart attack as "its so much better" than here. although, maybe if he was busy marching, he wouldn't be talking, i think your on to something
- Nubli, on 03/28/2008, -1/+0Rogue's do it from behind.
- haterofps3, on 03/28/2008, -2/+1I don't understand the title "Rutgers Students Do it in the Road", does not make a lot of sense to me. Wouldn't "Rutgers Students Protest in the Streets" make more sense?
- grazzhoppa, on 03/28/2008, -1/+2I asked one of these kids why they were ditching higher-education classes to protest a war that was based on bad "intelligence" and poor decision making.
She didn't catch the pun and started talking about war-for-oil.
Dressed in military surplus clothing - black leather boots, olive green jacket, and a rainbow scarves - about 10 of them interrupted my Chinese class in a building adjacent to the location of the start of the protest. They asked us to join them. After their outburst, one of the boys in the group said "thank you very much" in the insecure, "may I take your order" voice that many white overprivileged north-easterners invoke when they feel ill at ease.
We heard trite slogans shouted during our class. The wall of sound was tipped by the ear-mangling, piercing trill of female teenagers. The low hooting of male adolescents also as annoying. My cute, small statured Chinese teacher's voice was at times unable to overcome the feeble power of this protest.
