- SheilaNoya, on 05/29/2008, -12/+210Has anyone seen Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter lately? Are their eyes spinning around in their sockets? Are we going to be able to watch their heads explode on live T.V.?
- CaptinCrunch, on 05/29/2008, -15/+186***** Rupert Murdoch.
- Oheson, on 05/29/2008, -7/+92Murdock endorsing Obama? Does gravity still work?
- julianwan, on 05/29/2008, -26/+100I hope this is as huge as I'd like to think it is. Wow. This is either Murdock's way to stay relevant and keep his FOX investment running, or another billionaire (buffet first) has been swayed by barack. And we all know billionaires count more that superdelegates. This could change the media tone for the rest of the campaign....
- elemmeno, on 05/29/2008, -4/+75It's a trap!
- Coven, on 05/29/2008, -4/+66Hear that crackling sound? Hell just froze over.
- jdowland, on 05/29/2008, -6/+61He must be up to something because they are still running horrible Republican propaganda on FOX News.
- NoDrama, on 05/29/2008, -4/+51As I noted in a reply, this is fascinating because it's NOT an attempt to influence voters, but rather it's a move to gain favor with the person he figures will end up on top in November's election. Most of the uber-rich (and most politicos) only endorse who they figure will win, they want to strengthen connections to those who have influence and control.
I don't know what sort of track record Murdoch has with such predictions, but like him or not it's a measure of his "best guess" now about who will win in the fall. The very fact he's willing to go out on a limb before Obama even has the nomination sewed up is indicative of the depth of Murdoch's certainty. - o0joshua0o, on 05/29/2008, -2/+49It's reverse psychology to get you to think twice about voting for Obama.
- jstohler, on 05/29/2008, -7/+50"I'm Rupert Murdoch -- the billionaire tyrant. And this is MY skybox!"
- iankino, on 05/29/2008, -5/+47Wow, I share the same views as Rupert Murdoch. I feel...unclean.
*check to see if I still have a soul* - cpeterka, on 05/29/2008, -4/+41McCain is a Bush Hugger... and that will be his downfall. We don't need 4 more years of the problems that W has given us.
- whygohome10, on 05/29/2008, -5/+37What the *****?? the guy who employs BillO???
- Zenham, on 05/29/2008, -1/+29Regarding Murdoch's motivations: money. Murdoch has never had any problem with cash, regardless of what the source is. Likely he perceives an angle we just haven't seen played yet.
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -10/+38Murdoch, although evil, is a shrewd businessman, who wants to protect his assets. He's not blind, and can see that McCain is going to be aching at the spleen trying to take on Obama, and so he's posturing himself to be in a good position regardless.
He'll probably try to steal Obama's soul with a few billions or so. Don't think it will work. - jdowland, on 05/29/2008, -3/+31Murdoch also predicts a landslide victory for the Democrats:
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Rupert_Murdoch_p ... - dn11, on 05/29/2008, -3/+28you've got to take into consideration the audience he was speaking to - the D Conference. Murdoch is a shrewd business man above all else and you have got to know that statement was very calculated. Also, lowering expectations for McCain could end up making him look better.
- jkoski, on 05/29/2008, -2/+27My friend, you need to get out more.
- homercles337, on 05/29/2008, -2/+28Murdoch is undoubtedly the worst of the worst in America. He has admitted to manipulating the press to his and the Repugs gain. Disgusting. Even more so when you consider that the american people and their elected representatives let it happen.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 05/29/2008, -7/+31I sign all my posts even though my user name is right next to me.
Ava - treelovinhippie, on 05/29/2008, -9/+33Thing is it really doesn't matter who gets in as President... Murdoch controls the media. If you control the media, you control the country. America was bought and paid for a long time ago.
- Maynza, on 05/29/2008, -7/+29It's obvious he just wants to get into democratic good graces but still, this could be huge for democrats.
- tallassrob, on 05/29/2008, -1/+23Have you always found yourself attracted to shemales?
- Aikidi, on 05/29/2008, -8/+30I love anyone that reads this article and is like "maybe the old guy isnt so bad" just because he supports obama now.
Yeah right.
If Fox News starts pandering to the Dems like they have to Bush for the last 8 years, I might throw up. - pintomp3, on 05/29/2008, -2/+21***** IT, WE'LL BLOW UP LIVE!
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -11/+29Ann Coulter, oh she just left my house. She was at my door, begging me to let her blow me for some McDonalds dollar menu stuff. Seems her career is kaput now.
- JeffreyLloyd, on 05/29/2008, -3/+19Girl fight!
Jeff - lyderaly, on 05/29/2008, -3/+19On a related note Rupert Murdoch is a repeat campaign contributor to HRC. Alot of people are jumping from the HRC Titanic. http://www.newsmeat.com/billionaire_political_dona ...
- colonelbuckshot, on 05/29/2008, -3/+18There's the writing on the wall. Murdoch is networked with the most powerful political elites in the world
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -3/+17Wow, he's gone from Hillary to Obama, this being the guy who owns Republican-loving Fox News. Pretty weird.
The title should have included the bit about how "McCain has a lot of problems" including his cluelessness on the economy. - InetRoadkill, on 05/29/2008, -2/+15Murdoch has seen the writing on the wall and he knows his band of propaganda minions won't get jack ***** from the white house once Obama is elected, so it's time to pucker up and start kissing some serious ass.
Leopards don't change their spots. - FearFactory, on 05/29/2008, -4/+17reverse psychology
- Kenzan, on 05/29/2008, -3/+15Damn.
Even Emperor Palpatine like Obama. - inactive, on 05/29/2008, -2/+13hahha..im not strong enough to hear them speak yet...so let me know if they explode and then ill turn to fox news..until then that channel is off limits
- itsontheway, on 05/29/2008, -3/+13Murdoch isnt for Obama; it is a trap. He is lowering expectations for McCain and inflating them for Obama. A good strategy for McCain.
- OliveStreet, on 05/29/2008, -13/+22Rupert Murdoch, please commit suicide.
- flameboy, on 05/29/2008, -0/+8Not anymore my friend... as the internet grows we will experience a global media revolution.
Its already beginning to happen if you are paying attention. - dondara, on 05/29/2008, -6/+14In the eye with a chainsaw.
Seriously, ***** that old scumbag. - lolwutpear, on 05/29/2008, -2/+10obviously you didn't see the article about the guy who wears diapers
- ChiffX, on 05/29/2008, -0/+8***** THING SUCKS!
- 180andback, on 05/29/2008, -3/+11Morons will laugh at almost anything.
- Raphae1, on 05/29/2008, -1/+9I personally think, that this latest advance toward Obama is nothing but a distraction from the latest FOX news scandal. Come on, this guy still employs Mrs Trotta who openly "joked" about assassinating Obama on national TV last Sunday! Please sign the petition and ask FOX news to fire Mrs Trotta:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/fox-news-has-to-s ... - honthraj, on 05/29/2008, -0/+7Seems to be. Nothing out of the ordinary here in my neck of the woods. Only noticed a flock of pigs fly by when I was at the door talking with Mr. Lucifer. He wanted to borrow my snow shovel.
- Cattywampus, on 05/29/2008, -0/+7"Murdock's way to stay relevant and keep his FOX investment running,"
Yep, that's it... he's trying to curry favor with the person he thinks is the frontrunner. We'll see if flattery gets him anywhere.
Corporate folks often make nice statements (and financial donations) to politicians they think are going to be in power. Even a longtime conservative will support someone on the other side if he thinks that doing so is in his, and his corporation's, best interest. Nothing new about that. - LastVisibleDog, on 05/29/2008, -2/+9Why do you think Digg wants to hear about your homoerotic fantasies?
- Fafnir43, on 05/29/2008, -1/+8I see two possibilities. One, this is all a devious trick to try and sabotage Obama's candidacy by destroying him in the eyes of liberals nationwide. Two, he thinks Obama's going to win and that his presidency will transform the country to such a degree that Fox et all will be screwed if they don't significantly change their tone. Either seem plausible, although option two would require Murdoch to be right for once...
- Aikidi, on 05/29/2008, -2/+8your digg username makes your comment seem a little biased.
I'm not sure of the finer details of Barack's Iraq plan but i think its something like...."leave" - UberNick, on 05/29/2008, -2/+8It's kind of nice seeing Fox news revert back to their pre-Bush days and devote all programming to attacking the Democratic leader. I've been pretty disgusted with 24-7 flowery propaganda and apologist Bush TV.
Can you imagine what would happen if the drones were ordered to halt the attack? Madness! -
