You issue a warrant for his arrest, and go kick his door down. That is what would happen to ANYONE else who refuses a subpoena. - louise12345, on 07/10/2008, -6/+50Will these gutless Dems please send the Sergeant at Arms to the Rove residence and drag his ass back to testify?!!
This ineffectual Congress would rather moan and groan then take some solid action against this Bush White House. What in God's name are they waiting for? Protect the Constitution Congress! Utilize your powers to compel testimony! STOP MAKING A MOCKERY OF THIS COUNTRY YOU WEASELS!!!! - orangefly, on 07/10/2008, -2/+39can these people even get parking tickets....???....
- ChristPissed, on 07/10/2008, -4/+39What's the next step? A "Sternly worded letter(TM)" warning Rove that Congress "might" take some capitulating action? A warrant for his arrest for Inherent Contempt should have been ready to sign this morning, and a gulfstream jet , blindfold, diaper, and a rove-sized buttplug waiting on the tarmac at George Washington National National (Ronald Reagan) airport.
- T8erT0T, on 07/11/2008, -1/+29Firmly agree.
- MikaelMN, on 07/10/2008, -2/+29Where can I sign up to get the right to ignore a Congressional subpoena and maybe shoot an attorney in the face while drunk off my ass - fer gits & shiggles?
- principle, on 07/10/2008, -3/+24Congress believes that they can’t arrest Rove because the Attorney General Mukasey refuses to serve the subpoena. Why? Well, we had a quiet coup after which the U.S. Government became a rubber stamp of our Dictator George W. Bush. It is as plain as day, but everyone pretends that it is not true.
Congress has to call Bush’s bluff and send their man-at-arms to arrest Rove! Mukasey will not interfere, because that would be an open coup, which Bush cannot sustain. Congress has to do it before it is too late. - mkeydr, on 07/10/2008, -3/+22"Bush's Brain" is saying no to the American Justice system, is saying no to the operations of our government. He is by no means a good citizen, with no integrity. Americans are sick of seeing our leaders break the law and get away with it, as leaders they must lead by example. American sure has fallen far in the last 7 years.
- nickspm, on 07/10/2008, -3/+20If there are no credible solutions within the three branches of government to deal with this problem during our current de facto post-Constitution/ Bill-of-Rights era in these Unites States of America, I'm sure there are a good number of citizens that would be glad to assist in this matter.
- katie212, on 07/10/2008, -3/+18We all need to write to Conyers and tell him what to do which was stated here already..."YOU Send The Sargeant at arms to go PICK ROVES ASS UP! Conyers is stalling.
- AmerPatriot55, on 07/10/2008, -3/+14TURD BLOSSOM ROVE is NO LONGER WORKING FOR THE WHITE HOUSE! Where does he get off thinking he has some special privilages? If that were any other regular American citizen, our fanny would be sitting behind bars RIGHT NOW! And what ever happened to all those emails he supposedly "lost"? NOTHING was done about that either!
White House chief of staff Josh Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers have also ignored a subpoenae because they also think they're above the law; they should be in jail as well!
Not that I would expect any of them to actually Answer any questions truthfully; they'll probably do just what Gonzales did "I don't recall" throughout their entire testimony! The ENTIRE BUSH ADMINISTRATION should be in JAIL right now for Treason and Crimes against humanity! The Repubs. impeached Clinton for lying about an affair, NO ONE DIED!
BOYCOTT FOX NOISE, that's where the little TURD works now! - azAZ09, on 07/10/2008, -2/+13FIVE MORE DAYS?!? Conyers -- WTF? You ordered him to testify, he failed to appear. This is a crime--contempt of congress--one of many this has been connected to.
- darkciti2, on 07/11/2008, -2/+12If you ever see him in public (he's not covered by the Secret Service), arrest his ass.
It's called a citizens arrest and it's still legal. - Lomstradamus, on 07/10/2008, -2/+12Conyers is a chicken-*****!! ***** Rove!! Do your ***** job Conyers, quite being such a pussy!!!
- Bushlied, on 07/10/2008, -4/+14Someone needs to take that fat pig to the slaughter.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -4/+14Let's see him diss a prison guard who enjoys hearing little porkers "squeal like a pig".
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -3/+11WTF?
Scapegoat?
It's AMAZING how the rightard mind works. - anachronaut, on 07/11/2008, -1/+9"Tired of high gas prices? Vote republican."
Are you a comedian professionally, or do you always give it out for free like that? - Olfster, on 07/11/2008, -0/+8Pelosi is a weak weasel, looks like one too. The republicans groaned a sigh of relief when they realized she would become speaker. Kucinich should have been made speaker. Much more would have been done by now.
- MrEthiopian, on 07/11/2008, -1/+7It doesn’t matter; our current corrupt government Republicans and Democrats will never charge Rove. Even if he is found to have broken the law our government will just reinterpret and change the law just like they just did with the FISA situation. Bush has committed 31 felonies and instead of our government or MSM reporting this our government just changed the laws.
Buy a gun its time for a revolution. - VitriolAndAngst, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5Rove acts like he is just biding his time -- like he doesn't have anything to worry about.
That should ***** scare you. What does he know that we don't? Why are these people confident they will get away with their crimes when we get a new President?
I keep getting a feeling of what is around the corner --- and my mind does not want to believe it. A voice is saying; "get out now." I want our country whole again. I can't believe such blatant crooks have gotten away with so much. How can a few hundred traitors and a few thousand neocons do this when they are so outnumbered? We have been trained to wait for the authorities to handle our problems. But hell, even the chief justice has to be put under contempt charges to even start the ball rolling.
The Democrats have been pussy-footing around with these ***** thinking that they are going to win big based upon citizen outrage. They just don't seem to appreciate the 50 year mission of NeoCons and Straussians to turn this into a Fascist country, that exalts the biggest crooks. - Olfster, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5I agree, where do we draw the line with these people? They break the Constitution, write their own rules, railroad people for political gain, make up evidence to go to war, ignore supoenas and what else? This just has to stop. When is enough enough? I doubt they ever have to pay the parking ticket if they even get one!
- principle, on 07/10/2008, -2/+7The Democrats must start ruckus public Congressional investigations, and then keep the boll rolling until they gain sufficient public support to put Bush and the gang in jail.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5I am beginning to feel that violent revolution may end up being the only feasible answer. We will see how this election cycle goes.
- voodoosteve84, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4That photo is golden
- quez, on 07/11/2008, -1/+5Usually we don't allow the people being subpoenaed to decide whether or not the body to issue the subpoena has 'more pressing issues to address'. That would kind of defeat the purpose of issuing subpoenas at all, wouldn't it?
- Darkseit, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4More likely they will simply pass another "non-binding resolution" condemning his refusal to present himself, like they did against Bush for the war. Which really serves no purpose, except to point back during their re-election campaign and say "see, i voted for this or that." Meanwhile the emperor powers granted to the Executive and the partisanship amongst themselves has made the Congress pathetically weak. When are they going to grow a pair and do something more important than hold hearings about f**ing steroid use in baseball? fail
- Olfster, on 07/11/2008, -0/+4I have never ever seen a more guttless and cowering congress before. They seem as if they all are waiting for the sky to fall. What gives? The only person I ever hear about raising a ruckess is Kucinich. Although replacing Bush with Cheney would not be the best thing lets at least see where these weasels stand. I'm with Carl, except I don't expect, I out right want him indicted within the next year.
- icexe, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3"I say good for Rove, congressional democrats are whiny pathetic losers"
So that makes it OK to ignore a subpoena? - Rikkochet, on 07/11/2008, -4/+7Wonderful. The biggest problem facing your world is that you have to pay a little more to fill up your car.
America, I weep. - SPRFRKR, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3Freeze his assets until he returns.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4Red Alert: Treasonous, psychopathic war criminal has fled the country!
- banj0, on 07/11/2008, -1/+4I'm not doing anything next week. Gimme the subpoena and I'll go get him.
Any Digg messages I should deliver while he's handcuffed to my trailer hitch? - chrisgnv, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3What does the Iraq War have to do with Rove ignoring a subpoena? It's a crime. Ignore a subpoena, and see what happens to you. The same should happen to Rove.
- SverigesKung, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3HA HA Good job America! I love it when you pretend to be a Democracy run by the electorate. You are SO cute!
- PPGBM, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Disses? Are you serious? What is Digg coming to?
- enantiodromia, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2so, breaking the law is ok then, for some people, as long as it's in the name of making war. did i get that right?
also, btw, you have disrespected the soldiers, sailors, and marines, who happen to be Liberal, and if you think there aren't any, then that just proves you've never served yourself. - jxe8bv, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2This should set a precedent. Lets all blow off court.
- Corvidae, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2He left the country, and congress can't issue a normal arrest warrant. They can however order the sergeant at arms of congress to arrest him. Unfortunately they only have jurisdiction in the US...
We'll have to see if they actually issue the order, and even then, if he actually comes back into the country knowing he'll be arrested. - Roger047, on 07/11/2008, -0/+2What in the hell has happened to our country. I would like to know how these bastards have become able to lie, steal, cheat, commit outright treason and have no problem killing anybody that threatens their little program to rape and pillage our country and every other country that has something they want and without even the slightest hint of accountability. Anybody reading this go down to the local grocery and steal a candy bar and see how fast they have your ass locked up. This is crazy. These people in the congress and senate need to be reminded that they work for us and as such can or at least should be fired just like anyone of us who doesn't do their job right. It is looking like time has come to start firing people like pelosi and reed for doing nothing. Then on the other hand you have a vice president that shoots his friends in the face and doesn't even report it until the alcohol is out of his system. My only question to that is why the hell should he care one way or the other when he does anything he pleases without repercussion or even the slightest hint of accountability anyway. Our country has become a complete joke to the rest of the world and we the people are as much at fault as the politicians that we have allowed to steal elections, illegally and immorally invade a country and destroy it because they have a commoditie that a handfull of greedy pigs want and we all just sit back and say yea go get em george. We should all be ashamed of ourselves for allowing our country to slip into what is becoming an alarmingly apparent third world nation. Maybe I am stupid but I just can't seem to understand how josh bolton, harriet miers and now turd blossom have just simply said no I don't think I will answer this congressional subpoena instead I think I will sit by the pool and sip margaritas. What the hell is that and why hasn't the sargent of arms under the inherent comtempt law arrested these people, I simply do not understand. Hell what should it matter anyway even if they were in court they would simply sit there like puppet gonzales and say uuuh I don't remember. I know this is a just a lot of steam simply because NOBODY GIVES A ***** ANYMORE.
- inactive, on 07/11/2008, -1/+2Nancy can bugger off. She got nothin'
- notoneofus, on 07/11/2008, -2/+3I'm tired of hearing the term "election year politics" as if that's somehow an excuse for this sort of *****.
One-quarter of all politics takes place in an election year. - Myonosken, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Unfortunately, Rove is now outside of the US. If any warrant is issued, he'll just stay out. The bastard has escaped unfortunately.
- TRMarchesano, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Good for Rove! Screw those sissy leftist cuckolded by Pelosi....
Long live Rove! - Barackalypse, on 07/11/2008, -1/+2Frankly after the FISA bill and the Patriot Act Congress is the last group of people that should be investigating anyone for wrongdoing. I'd refuse to show just on principle. How they can even pretend to question others with the sins they've committed is beyond me. Shameless.
- s0rce7, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1disses congress? he broke the damn law! And needs to be arrested asap.
- darkciti2, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Your silly "God" is what ***** our great nation - because it enables stupidity, mindless fraternity, and false confidence.
The greatest failing of our forefathers was allowing every ***** without a brain to vote.
In my new America, if you can't name 2 Congressmen and 2 Senators (randomly, in any given year), you forfeit your voting right for 2.1 years. What our Founding Fathers giveth, they can take away [particularly because we haven't upheld our end of the deal]. - inactive, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1throw him in the slammer
- jimmyk76, on 07/11/2008, -2/+3Congress acts like holding the executive branch accountable for their criminal actions is too messy, and they'd rather just let bygones be bygones and go on with their lives. IT'S THEIR FREAKING DUTY TO HOLD THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CRIMINAL ACTIONS! TAKE THE KID GLOVES OFF, GET YOUR DAINTY HANDS DIRTY, AND DO YOUR FREAKING JOB!!!
- 33PercentGod, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1How about "All men are created equal"?
