- confuzzling, on 06/12/2008, -37/+149THANK YOU RON PAUL! Thank you for everything you've done for America. Words can't begin to describe how grateful I am to you and how much you've changed me for the better.

It started with Paul, and ends with us.
*Punches hole in the wall * - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -14/+79I like how Ron Paul gets a 4 page writeup and headline feature by a MSM outlet when he announces he's calling it quits on the campaign... Where were these ***** when he was tearing McCain, Huckabee, Guiliani, Thompson, and Romney apart in the already limited time he was given in the debates? Why not a , "Paul Gives Guiliani Reading List" headline? Because they suck, that's why.
- oldbookguy, on 06/12/2008, -5/+66
Agreed, Paul gave the inspiration, now WE must follow through and take back our country and freedoms. - Dokument, on 06/12/2008, -2/+41i'm still voting for him
- confuzzling, on 06/12/2008, -16/+53"Dear Supporter,
These past 17 months have been among the most exciting and eventful of my life. Together you and I delivered a message of freedom the likes of which American politics had not seen in decades. I wasn’t sure the country was ready for it. But it was a message, I discovered, that many Americans had been waiting for a long time to hear.
I have been blessed with the most informed, well read, and enthusiastic supporters of any presidential campaign. Your extraordinary efforts in organizing and fundraising grabbed the attention of millions of Americans and shocked just about everyone in politics and the media. I still cannot get over all the fantastic work you did.
Something of great significance has just occurred in our country’s history."

- JKap, on 06/12/2008, -24/+58RON PAUL R3VOLUTION! REINSTATE THE CONSTITUTION!
- JettaMan, on 06/12/2008, -2/+26Is there any candidate in the last 30 years who understands the problems as well as Ron Paul? This man needs to run the country some day. He has the solutions.
- Couchy, on 06/12/2008, -5/+28what is digg?
- SuckMyDigg, on 06/12/2008, -2/+24Wow that's the most coverage Ron Paul has received so far from ABC.
- SocialPoison, on 06/12/2008, -2/+20"...is crying their eyes out..."
So is the English language - inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+18Me too. I'll never vote for McCain or any of the other republicans that were running, and I while I believe Obama is a better choice than McNameDropper, I can't vote for a guy who is going to raise taxes and make the gov't bigger. Ron Paul's views are so ideal to me, cut spending, bring our men and women home, lower taxes, get rid of IRS... I mean holy crap; and it's all doable with him, because he's somebody who actually DOES what he says he's going to do, and his voting record is proof.
Such a pity that he's got next to no chance. - jksturm, on 06/12/2008, -17/+34Why would he end it before the convention?
- BetterOffEd, on 06/12/2008, -1/+17Uhhh.... because there's no chance of him being the nominee?
....and as a result his efforts and resources would probably be better utilized elsewhere?
....like the initiative covered in the article?
(Just a guess.) - RedAmerican, on 06/12/2008, -10/+25He cured my apathy and, in time, his ideals will cure the nation... I hope! :)
- kemp34, on 06/12/2008, -14/+28Dugg for interviewing Daily Paul creator Michael Nystrom.
- 4d669, on 06/12/2008, -2/+16EVERYBODY SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE POLICE STATE! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
- sealbeater, on 06/12/2008, -8/+21I'm still voting for him. I won't forget the things he's brought out into the public eye.
- totorototoro, on 06/12/2008, -3/+15I thought he was hanging in there to speak at the RNC Convention?
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -2/+14The reason is Ron Paul was the only candidate that stood up for the constitution, personal freedoms and liberties that all other candidates want to take away. People that try to compare Ron Paul to Obama are ignorant. Ron Paul was the truth, was a revolutionary in the mold of Jefferson, Adams and their ilk. The only change and hope is with Paul. Sadly, there are only a minority of us in this country that hears and understands what this man talks about. Meanwhile the sheep are led from pasture to pasture.
- beersnob, on 06/12/2008, -4/+15It is about time that Ron Paul used some of the momentum (and money) from his campaign to get some like-minded, libertarian-leaning republicans elected to congress. Then maybe the "R3volution" will get somewhere!
- ciaran036, on 06/12/2008, -9/+19I don't care what little (or no) chance he has, he still should not stand down.
I don't want Obama to run America (or the world) and I certainly don't want McCain to run the world/America.
Don't forget what Obama said last week:
"Iran is a grave threat" with an "illicit nuclear program" and that this threat must be "eliminated".
This is lies! The IAEA and CIA confirmed that Iran do not have a nuclear weapons program and the thing about wiping Israel off the map was a misquote. Bush, McCain and Hillary are not alone in their attempt to destroy the third country in the "axis of evil", as Obama has shown.
And just to remind you, the USA has nuclear weapons AND weapons of mass destruction and have made genuine threats.
And these government officials have no credibility considering their lies about Iraq.
Not to mention the huge war profiteering, torture and murder that has been played down in the mainstream media. - koob, on 06/12/2008, -8/+18It's been over for a long time. Time to focus our efforts on winning some congressional seats! We need to take this party over from the bottom up!
- confuzzling, on 06/12/2008, -3/+13http://ronpaul2008.typepad.com/ron_paul_2008/2008/ ...
Seems like you won't have to wait long. - EelfinnTy, on 06/12/2008, -15/+25"officially ending Paul's presidential campaign and freeing up the more than $4.7 million in campaign cash for investment in a new advocacy group, The Campaign for Liberty."
The campaign is over but the movement is just beginning…
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ - 00z003, on 06/12/2008, -6/+15...what could have been...
stay vigilant for liberty.
It was a great campaign to watch. Thank you Ron, for standing up to goons like Giuliani, McCain, and Romney. - cnot3, on 06/12/2008, -2/+11Bob Barr sucks. In my mind he is not a Libertarian.
- NoStoppingUs, on 06/12/2008, -27/+35who is ron paul?
- Rustymetal, on 06/12/2008, -5/+13LOL you call Obama, Hiliary, OR Mccain a actual candidate? None of them even qualify to apply for the Presidential seat. They know nothing about everything.
- cnot3, on 06/12/2008, -6/+14The campaign may be over, but the message will live on. Perhaps, after all the money Paul earned, other politicians will take notice to the importance Americans place on their personal freedoms. Unfortunately, I do not believe they will, but at least Paul will still be fighting for our rights and the Constitution in Congress.
- JettaMan, on 06/12/2008, -2/+10When they mentioned his new book, they forgot to mention it went to #1 on the NYT best seller list. I kinda think if this was Hillary or Obama ABC was talking about they would have mentioned that little fact.
- cnot3, on 06/12/2008, -2/+10He will not call for an end to the war on drugs (only that medical marijuana should be legal), he voted for the Patriot Act, sponsored the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (to outlaw same sex marriage on a federal level), and voted to go to war with Iraq. Ron Paul is much more of a Libertarian than he is.
- ultraJesus, on 06/12/2008, -3/+11Who is John Galt?
- cnot3, on 06/12/2008, -3/+11Maybe now the "actual" candidates can wake up and realize that Americans care about their personal liberties, and that we are ***** pissed off with the way they continue to wipe their collective asses with the US Constitution.
- Amnesia10, on 06/12/2008, -0/+8I did not agree with Ron Paul on many things but he was completely right about the constitution, and defending the American people. If the current president had followed his advice the reputation of the USA would be a whole lot better now. He was right about the Federal deficit, and unlike nearly every other candidate would have taken steps to deal with it. The problem is that as a country you cannot live on debt like you have for decades, eventually the loans get called in and then life is much much harsher than they needed to be. He may not have had any chance of victory but what he had to say was exceptionally important for Americans to hear.
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -4/+11It would never happen. Paul realizes that Obama is more of the same, just look at his threats towards Iran last week.
- fakekevinrose, on 06/12/2008, -3/+10Vote Ron Paul
- nblsavage, on 06/12/2008, -3/+10So if you're gay and want to get married, you'd have to move away from family and friends just to have a right that straight people have by default? Or if your're 16 and pregnant, you'll have to try to make it to another state in order to have an abortion? Sorry, doesn't wash with me. Seems to me that Paul supporters are only concerned about *their* rights, not anyone else's.
- BIOHazard87, on 06/12/2008, -3/+10I disagree, I don't believe the federal government can create "laws that fit all". I would like the option to move to states that have laws I agree with more.
- morgino, on 06/12/2008, -4/+11Bummer, I was looking forward to seeing more supporters at his convention then McCains. I'm not a big fan of Bob Barr either, the guys goal in life in the 90's was to rip Clinton a new one for getting a hummer. Thanks though RP, I do look at politics in a different light.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6Please elaborate.
(Seriously—I'm not being facetious. I'm interested.) - twiztidsinz, on 06/12/2008, -3/+9die in a fire
- DreKor, on 06/12/2008, -2/+8Look, rick rolls are supposed to at least have some music in them.
- jameskong15, on 06/12/2008, -5/+11Probably because those who control the convention are not going to allow him any time to present an opposing view.
- BetterOffEd, on 06/12/2008, -1/+7He certainly has the ardent followers in place to start either. (Or both.)
- ZevFan, on 06/12/2008, -1/+7Ummm, read the article:
"Now what about the Republican Convention in St. Paul? Our delegates will attend, of course, and I expect our contingent to have a visible presence there. Without disruption, we will do whatever we can to influence the party and its platform, and return the GOP to its limited-government roots. This is very important.
This brings me to my second announcement. I invite you to join us at Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, September 2nd, for a grand rally. We intend to draw over 11,000 people. We’ll have live music and entertainment, and special guests. I’ll address you all as well. A massive rally will generate still more interest in our ideas. And what a great time it will be." -
