- bitCruncher, on 11/05/2007, -29/+236So far he is the only conservative running for President and the only politician to tell the truth.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -18/+156Ron Paul is now officially getting my vote.
- falazmah, on 10/10/2007, -15/+148I agree. He IS the only politician from the Republican side to tell teh truth, and I respect him for that. I think this subject of this debate with O'Reily needs to get more coverage and analysis from the media. I think we're focusing on the wrong countries. Iran has the most pro-Western population in the Middle East, and Syria, who has the only secular government and the most moderate (and multi-ethnic) population in the Arab World. Shouldn't we be going after the Saudis who still preach hatred through their hard-core religious institutions? It is UNIFORMLY accepted that most of the suicide attackers in Iraq are Saudi. And, finally, on this 9/11 anniversary, remember this: 15 of the 19 attackers were Saudis. NONE were from Iran or Syria.
Do you think Iran is a national security threat to the United States? http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=469
Kudos Ron Paul for refocusing our debate. - gordonf238, on 10/10/2007, -12/+142Does anyone else feel that Bill O'Reilly is a total penis?
- kaelyiesta, on 10/10/2007, -7/+116"I see the Iranians as acting logically and defensively," Paul went on. "We've been fighting the Iranians since 1953. We overthrew their government. ... We were allies with Saddam Hussein in the 1980's and we encouraged him to invade Iran..."
Bingo. We are meddling and then we cry foul when the people we've bullied fight back. They don't hate our freedoms, they hate us taking away theirs. - JonFugeEveryone, on 10/10/2007, -10/+115I'm tired of this argument that Ron Paul can't win the presidency.
The primaries are decided by 10% of the voters. That's all that show up. If Ron can get 5% of the popular vote to be passionate supporters, which most of his supporters are, he will win the primary. He's winning straw polls and he will soon have the largest campaign organization of all republicans through his meetup groups. Clearly none of the other republicans can win the presidency on their current platforms because they are for the war. The entire country is against the war. Ron Paul is probably the only republican that stands a chance of becoming president and conservatives are going to realize this. - DekarCorvus, on 10/10/2007, -20/+97I hope for the sake of your country....nay, for the sake of world peace. that you americans vote Ron Paul into office. He is the only one to know that the hell he is talking about, and actually wanna change it.
Everyone else is going in for political and financial gains. Dr Paul seems to genuinly be conserned that your country is becoming less and less safe, since ur foreign policy is causing EVERY nation world wide to hate/fear you. - UnclePow, on 10/10/2007, -3/+65He had my vote when he said he'd get rid of the IRS.
- jimic79, on 10/10/2007, -6/+55Dugg for the sole fact that, while being a republican, I hate everything to do with bill o'rly.
- pcp777, on 10/10/2007, -6/+55Mine too! He's the only candidate to have the balls to look at the middle east situation realistically.
- masamunecyrus, on 10/10/2007, -5/+49Iran is of very little threat to the United States national security. Israel, if anyone, should be worried about Iran, and Israel is more than capable of protecting themselves with their world-class air force and nuclear weapons, as we saw when they "brought the sky down" on Hamas.
Being that Israel is an ally of ours, I don't think that it would be too unreasonable that, IF they asked for our help, we gave them some help, but as of now they have done no such thing.
In the words of John Quincy Adams, the most intelligent president and widely accepted as the best foreign-policy president, "[America] goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy." - BlacklabelSAR, on 10/10/2007, -4/+48"We don't need a history lesson," O'Reilly broke in.
Yes, yes you DO need a history lesson Bill. You also need to acquire the ability to LISTEN and THINK. Oh and some basic manners too. Bill you are a coward and a biggot. - JJCDAD, on 10/10/2007, -3/+47I want to punch Bill O'reilly's ***** face in! What a waste of oxygen.
- whymanwhy, on 10/10/2007, -8/+52"Ron Paul tells Bill O'Reilly US policy, not Iran, is the real problem"
WE KNOW! - jasoncps, on 10/10/2007, -5/+47Ron Paul is quite possibly the best "politician" I have ever seen in my life. This guy speaks nothing but the truth all the time. My God this guy reminds me why the USA is the greatest country in the world. Thank God there are Americans like him left, and willing to run for President.
God save our gracious Ron Paul. - GoatMonkey2112, on 10/10/2007, -11/+49I'm going to vote for him. I don't agree with everything he says, but I agree more with him than any other candidate.
- bobdotcom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+36He is such a good debater. He's always up to date on his information, and his insights on things are bang on. Its no wonder he makes all the other candidates look retarded at the debates.
- canadian8703, on 10/10/2007, -3/+38I'm voting for him, and so is my entire family
- HHP2K, on 10/10/2007, -9/+41Just reading that transcript made me sick. Bill is a piece of *****.
- ScionAltera, on 10/10/2007, -3/+34I loved the part of the interview with Papa Bear where he said we didn't need a history lesson. He then of course continued to gush his ridiculous drivel and prove beyond any doubt that he is in fact in dire need of a history lesson. It amazes me how firmly people believe that nothing that happens to the United States could possibly be our own fault. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me; people do that on an individual level all the time.
- MaTT2011, on 10/10/2007, -6/+36Thats it. Ron Paul gets my vote.
He was already leagues ahead of the competition, if you can call guliani and clinton actual "competitors"...i call them JOKES, but now he has solidified my support as far as i am concerned.
Ron Paul for president! bitches! - kaelyiesta, on 10/10/2007, -4/+34You are referring to the perceptions of fox news, right? If so, then you already have the answer. They mostly reject the truth in favor of what they want to believe, but more importantly they probably just lie because the best way to get people to not vote for someone is to make them think that that candidate doesn't have a chance of winning.
For a candidate like Ron Paul, the usual smear tactics don't work because of his squeaky clean resume. Instead they have to go after his odds of winning as a reason to not vote for him, even if its a lie. - Frostman3D, on 10/10/2007, -3/+31Ron Paul's got my vote.
- epsilona01, on 10/10/2007, -2/+30The problem is the sales pitch. Instead of "Oh, no education!" it should be "Instead of letting the federal government ***** UP your child's education even more, the state and community you live in should take responsibility for your child's learning experience."
okay you might want to omit the profanity but you get the idea. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+29ya ron paul IS WINNING
hes got the most compaign contributors
hes won the most straw polls
he averages highest in straw polls
hes won the most online polls
hes got the most meetup groups
hes got the most youtube subscribers
hes got the most myspace friends
hes got the most eventful requests
hes got the most searches on the most search engines
hes got the most fanatical supporters ;)
simply put, he IS THE FRONT RUNNER. fox can deny it all they want but fox doesnt make reality - mikedoth, on 10/10/2007, -3/+28You could tell Ron was pissed and wanted to smack the sh*t out of him. Bill just kept interrupting him.
- bigturns, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24What information do you base such an assertion on? It is public record that the Reagan administration directly supported Saddam during the Iraq / Iran War.

2) http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB82/press.htm
It is also true that the CIA, under Bush Sr., supported the efforts of Osama in his fight against the Russians in Afghanistan.

We have, in the past, a record of meddling in middle eastern affairs. A foreign policy, as Ron Paul pointed out, which has resulted in considerable 'blow back'.
There is nothing more to lose in Iraq that we haven't already lost. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25hes been against the war from the start
he supports our civil rights
he votes with the constitution
he supports sound money
he wants to get rid of the IRS and income tax
he wants to change our education system so schools have to compete for our tax money, causing them to perform better and better serve our children's learning needs
he wants to bring our troops home (carefully) and wants to keep americans out of harms way
he wants to protect our borders
he wants to keep the government out of every aspect of our lives
he wants to demilitarize our police forces
he wants to restore habeas corpus
in short he wants to fix the country - ddgs, on 10/10/2007, -5/+28Agh....forgive me God for rudeness (and I am ready to get buried) - but Bull O'*****'Rilley is a ***** idiot! I've never watched his show, and never will. What a big piece of smelly *****! He didn't even let Ron Paul to finish his statement, *****! I will be sure to walk my dog over to his grave so it could mark the territory as "owned".
sorry... just had to let it out - dracostimpy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24And if his foreign policy "takes its marching orders from Al Qaeda" as Wallace says, then apparently so do our troops since RP has received more donations from troops than any other candidate:
http://thespinfactor.com/thetruth/2007/07/16/military-support-for-the-republican-candidates/
Why do our troops hate America? - kaelyiesta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23Wrong. Guess who supplied weapons. The 'good doctor' hadn't been given enough time to elaborate. Saddam did not do that 'all on his own'. I won't try to convince you further, I suggest you do some research on the trade history between western nations and Iran and Iraq from 1980 to 1988.
The funny thing is that even if we didn't do this, which we did, it still leaves the fact that we were directly involved in OVERTHROWING A SOVEREIGN GOVERNMENT! We helped install a ruler. Imagine for one second just what you or I would do if some other country did that here and we found out about it. This is to say nothing of how we exploited that leader and thus Irans resources and industry. I am furious about that and I'm not even Iranian. If I were, you can bet your life that I'd be doing a lot more than just typing angrily. We are reaping what we've sewn, and yet still people are trying to justify what we are doing over there. - tastypickles, on 10/10/2007, -10/+32If Canada's vote counted, Ron Paul would get 30 million votes. Plus we'd send polar bears to the current Oval Office.
- vawksel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Same here, we all re-registered as republicans to vote for him in the primaries.
- brstilson, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25What Bill O'Reilly does is not debate. He asks a question and then halfway through the answer interrupts the guest and starts lecturing them about things he knows nothing about. Whenever someone points this out he starts yelling.
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CUT HIS MIC!!!!!!!!! CUT HIS MIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - bemenaker, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25O'Reilly is such and idiot, he shot down his own argument, what tool. How did we survive the Cold War when Russia had 40K nukes? "It was mutually assured destruction" Hmm, so let's see Bill, Russia wouldn't launch all 40K of their nukes against us, and TOTALLY DESTROY the US, because in response they would be totally destroyed. Yet, Iran would be willing to launch 1 single nuke at us, knowing that we have over 25K nukes still and we can obliterate their country dozens of times over with our nukes, and we would if they shot one at us?
Logic fails this man miserably. What a pompous windbag. - blackbeardtron, on 10/10/2007, -3/+25Bill O'Reilly has never debated in his life. He screams a lot and tells people their viewpoint is wrong, sure. But debate? Never
- UnclePow, on 10/10/2007, -4/+24He is the only candidate who believes that the Constitution is the only law book we need.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+30Democrats blew their chance, Americans gave them congress, they acted like dam fools and now the tied has changed to be in favor of finishing the Iraq mission.
Democrats were given the opportunity to lead as they said they could and they have brought nothing . Dem's exploited historical election trends and failed. - rasbradley, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Ron Paul is a true Statesman.
- MacGruber, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Exactly. the MSM, and especially Fox News, anchor to the bias that any vote that doesn't go towards the ultimate winner is a wasted vote. that is such a fundamentally anti-democratic logic it blows my mind that people are dumb enough to fall for that fallacy. It is this media manipulation that makes me vehemently opposed to direct democratic elections. the electoral college may have serious issues, but if left to a group-think popular vote, Fox and other corporate sponsored news outlets will truly control the government.
- libertao, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Well as someone in the same general boat as GM2112, I'd add that I also agree with his positions:
Against Drug War
Foreign policy in general (not just Iraq)
Abolishment of IRS in favor of a more sensible federal tax system
Milton Friedman/Austrian/Monetarism Economic views
Against government involvement in marriage (specifically gay marriage)
... - tonto69, on 10/10/2007, -7/+25Ron Paul is right...the Neo-Cons have hi-jacked U.S. foreign policy. U.S. foreign policy revolves around doing what is right...for Israel. It's all about fighting Israel's enemies: Iraq, Syria and Iran.
They succeeded in getting us to war against Iraq. They almost succeeded in getting us to invade Syria. Remember when we couldn't find WMD's in Iraq? The Neo-Cons were saying Saddam moved them to Syria just days before the invasion. If it weren't for the fact that the war in Iraq was taking a turn for the worst the Neo-Cons would have succeeded in getting us to invade Syria too in search of the elusive WMD's...and now Iran. - acomj, on 10/10/2007, -4/+22What an awfull interview..Looking at the transcript the O'Reilly talks as much as Ron Paul. When Dr. Paul has to ask to be allowed to finish an answer its not the sign of a good interview.
I don't agree with all of Dr. Paul views (some of the domestic policy stuff especially) but he gets my complete respect for being honest and standing up for the truth instead of what politics says he should say. - Piedramente, on 10/10/2007, -9/+26I still don't hear an explanation of Ron Paul's poll numbers?
How can their perceptions of his popularity and the poll results from many sources be so far off? - maz2331, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20No, because that's part of a MAN.
- epsilona01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17If Ron Paul's campaign does nothing more than prevent a Republican douchebag (i.e. Ghouliani) from getting elected, then he's still done this country a service.
If he does manage to get elected, they'll probably have him assassinated, since his ideas make too much sense. - Zeonix, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20If you bothered to read what was written, you'd see that an opinion wasn't voiced. It was just a transcript and a video of the what happened. Way to let bias get in the way of education.
- nextyoyoma, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16I'm not ignoring them. I was a gravel supporter until I found out of Ron Paul. I just think he's a better candidate.
- HHP2K, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18The ***** transcript is right there, the video is right there. What's biased about that?
- cjays1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15That's the first time I've seen the Constitution referred to as "not the law."
The 10th Amendment isn't vague at all. It establishes clear and concise limitations to the Federal government. If enough of the people feel The Constitution is outdated or needs modifying, they can elect representatives to follow the procedures for modifying the Constitution with Amendments, but those same reps can just ignore the Constitution. I have no choice but to follow the laws the Federal government makes for me, so I expect them to follow the laws made for them. -
