Fail. - eyesareopened, on 11/09/2007, -23/+331That's amazing. My family and I were one of the donators, and we watched it go up the whole day. jimski, watch your mouth. I'm no smelly hippy, and neither are any of the other Ron Paul supporters I know. You sound like a proponent of the "smear campaign".
- MindTrigger, on 11/12/2007, -8/+248The American Media has chosen Clinton vs Guiliani for the run. This scares the ***** out of me. I donated money to Paul last night, and it was the first time I have ever donated money to a politician.
We need a president right now, who will reign in this government. Even if you don't agree with all of Ron Paul's positions on the issues, you have to know that he will shrink this imperialistic government down. I do not see Dr. Paul as the savior of this country for the long haul, but I do see him as a necessary first step to getting this country back on the right path. The problems facing us will require more than one president, and more than one set of presidential goals and values. Paul will pull back the government to a manageable level where they should be. After that, we can look toward future presidents that will help us evolve further. - Bawk, on 11/13/2007, -14/+249Now he can put all that into one Superbowl ad...
- moman, on 11/13/2007, -30/+245***** all of you who say Ron Paul is anti-Abortion. RON PAUL IS NOT ANTI-ABORTION, HE IS ANTI-FEDERAL-GOVERNMENT GETTING INVOLVED IN ABORTION. Ron Paul wants to leave it up to the god damn states to decide whether or not abortion is legal. Don't support abortion, then live in a state in which its illegal. Support abortion, the live in a state that it is legal. EVERYONE ***** WINS.
- vanguardanon, on 11/13/2007, -13/+224Ron Paul can win Iowa. The Iowa caucus isn't like a normal election, you don't just vote and go home. Supporters hang around all night long and argue their positions. It takes organization and enthusiastic supporters to do well in Iowa. Ron Paul can win there and that can springboard him to a better national position. Also, this has to be the worst crop of republican candidates I can remember. This is the year a person like Ron Paul could do something.
- atdigg, on 11/13/2007, -9/+200You are an idiot, first of all there's a limit how much money a person can donate, second of all Soros has totally different orientation than Ron Paul.
- Hetman, on 11/13/2007, -15/+201Damn that is a lot 99 cent chessburgers.
- slapded, on 11/12/2007, -16/+192I threw in $25
- WilliamDavis, on 11/13/2007, -3/+161Why digg you down time? Many Paul supporters wanted to see Gravel do well. He's honest, and that's more that can be said for most candidates in both parties.
- Litanss, on 11/13/2007, -21/+164Since when have smelly hippies given a ***** about a republican candidate
- GeoffChang, on 11/12/2007, -7/+149I support Ron Paul and The Constitution.
- ddgs, on 11/12/2007, -13/+138Good for Dr. Paul. I will put my $100 today. Slowly, but steadily, with most coming from grassroot supporters we will win this nomination. It's not about Ron Paul, it is about America, our values and future of our children.
- pongx, on 11/12/2007, -5/+125Ron Paul doesn't want an end to social services. He wants an end to federal social services. He wants to put money back in the hands of local government, where it belongs. We shouldn't have a federal dept of education, we should have our states and cities handle all of that. Roads and infrastructure, the states and counties are the ones who build and maintain that stuff, so if we didn't send the money to washington first, there would be more money to spend on local roads, bridges, etc. As far as the federal government is concerned with the social services it provides...
Well, if you cut out the 30-40% federal income taxes that people pay before they even touch their own money, you all of a sudden have more money that can be spent locally instead of nationally. How much easier would it be to fund local schools or even send your kids to private school if you had 30% more money. If you're making $40,000 a year, that's like $13,333 more per year that you can spend. If people had an extra 10k to spend on local roads, education, etc. we'd all be better off, but as it is now, the federal government takes that money and uses it to buy $1 million missiles and $30 million jets to bomb "terrorists" living in 3rd world countries who really just want us to leave them alone. 51% of the federal government budget goes to the military, not schools or roads, but guns and bombs.
Think about it, I'd rather keep my money in my county and state, wouldn't you? - TheCosmicFool, on 11/09/2007, -6/+124As a Canadian who doesn't have time or patience to learn the US voting system, I am curious.
Why does everyone say he has no chance? If he had the majority of votes in enough states it seems fair that he has a chance.
Do the neo-cons really have that much control over a party that they wouldn't let him become a republican president?
Sorry if I seem ignorant, its just seems like one big puppet show thats not worth my time. I mean.. Bush is still president, thats convincing enough... - thecarpe, on 11/09/2007, -5/+119I'm all about Ron Paul, but he is in a real tough spot. He's not a member of the Bilderberger machine, he's against the Federal Reserve (neither Federal, nor is there a reserve, by the way...about as federal as FedEx). I'm not a conspiracy theorist (at least not of purely sinister conspiracies), just someone who is aware that there are politics going on behind the scenes in everyday life that most folks don't know about.
Think about it - if the richest folks in the world met in an undisclosed location for a week under intense privacy, don't you think the media would at least be a little bit curious? If several of our past presidents were there prior to their nomination/election, do you think that would be newsworthy?
Ron Paul is knowingly outside of this environment and doesn't deny its existence. Who will encourage you to write him off? Who decides what news you see and what you don't? If the richest people in the world are benefiting from the interest generated from our national debt (because their banks are backing the federal reserve notes - simple banking principles), why would they have any interest in getting someone elected who would like to remove debt, remove the federal reserve system, and shy away from unified world finances. "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws." - Mayer Amschel Bauer, who founded the Rothschild family - inactive, on 11/13/2007, -5/+114those damn ron paul spammer bots are at it again, spamming millions of dollars in a single day...
- fractalman, on 11/11/2007, -8/+116Don't feed the Trolls.
- chris9902, on 11/13/2007, -5/+100it's almost as if time kept going and he got more money.
but that's just crazy talk. - banmaster, on 11/08/2007, -18/+106I can't believe all the RP Haters here.
Look, if you don't like Paul thats fine. Don't click on the story and don't ***** comment!
Its people like you that have sat back and watched the liberties you shouldn't be taking for granted vaporize under the Bush administration! People like you that DON'T want to live in a true democracy. People like YOU that seriously seem to think that America is in really good financial, political, social shape and that nothing needs to change, despite the fact that the average wage (when inflation is considered) has dropped by the equivalent of $1000/year, that there is a widening gap between the rich ***** who currently run the system and those that live in the system but are getting screwed over.
Well done!
No go back to your Rudy fansites where you can fantasize about him and his '9/11 is the cause of everything going bad and I'm your true savior" *****! - Phrostee, on 11/07/2007, -2/+90"seeing scores of smelly hippies get the crap kicked out of them by the police will be fun to watch" Statements like those scare the hell out of me. To think that people so are so scared of "islamo fascism" that they WANT a police state, the terrorists have won and that is heartbreaking for men like me who are actually veterans of this war on terrorism.
- inactive, on 11/09/2007, -4/+91I am just glad it is not one of the "establishment" candidates. Screw Giuliani, Clinton and all the other bought and paid for corporate whores.
- Enochyang, on 11/13/2007, -4/+90I personally don't agree with all his positions. However, I would entrust the presidency to RP based on his solid principles and integrity. Ron Paul understands that this country needs a radical shift in foreign and economic policy, and that gets my vote.
- WilliamDavis, on 11/08/2007, -2/+84Was that where he spent 10 minutes talking about McCain, then said "We have to talk about Ron Paul so our computers don't blow up"? Yeah, as if 4.2 million in one day isn't worth talking about by itself.
I'm starting to think this guy is just going to have to get elected to get any respect. Maybe not even then. - Bluejaye, on 11/07/2007, -1/+82I can't imagine why I'd dig you down. You stated your preference in a mature, honest manner. Reasonable/rational people respect that.
- TridenTBoy, on 11/07/2007, -73/+152Man, I am not a big liker of Ron Paul. I prefer Mike Gravel over him... It's sad Mike will never get close to this kind of money because he doesn't have a hardcore fan base.(And in my honest opinion, he's better than Ron)
Digg me down time. - medalian1, on 11/08/2007, -12/+90wow this is awesome. find ron paul groups that need your help on meetup.com. my local one is having a parade this month followed by a picnic.
- NvrEndr, on 11/07/2007, -1/+71While I personally disagree, you're certainly allowed your opinion... and as long as you're not being an ***** about it (and you're not) then that's fine with me.
- bratpack8, on 11/13/2007, -6/+76Yes, 37,000+ donors as a matter of fact. I guess it was really just (1) person with a bunch of different email addresses though.
- atdigg, on 11/13/2007, -8/+77that story was written before the day ended.
- Foot56, on 11/09/2007, -4/+71It's on the front page of MSNBC their main story.. Amazing power the internet has these days.
- jmf866, on 11/08/2007, -4/+67Did you go to a university? - Yes, paid with my own money and STATE taxes.
Do you drink clean water? - Yes, paid with my own money and COUNTY taxes.
Do you drive a car with safety measures? - Who's car was paid for with taxes? Anyway, if you mean by safe roads, then yes, and that is paid by GASOLINE taxes, tolls, fees, and fines. - CaymanCarpediem, on 11/12/2007, -4/+66I guess I'm not up to date on my conspiracy theories, but I thought last week Soros and “smelly hippies” where the great liberal evil? Now they are supporting the most conservative candidate in the race?
- scoobydoo84, on 11/12/2007, -5/+66jimski1961,
People like you are becoming more and more irrelevant!! Hence your anger and smear!! Also your ignorance!! Soros has nothing to do with Paul. However, since your hick ass only watches Fox lies, you naturally assume anyone who is against the war is supported by Soros!! You, your ilk, and your caliber of dead citizenship is on the verge of becoming history. The nation is waking up and the likes of you are becoming more and more irrelevant!! You are pathetic!! - Stuart750, on 11/12/2007, -11/+70Hint.... 5th of November....
- Me1000, on 11/09/2007, -1/+59because everyone knows it is easy to change the name on your credit card!
- sHockz, on 11/13/2007, -7/+65i donated my $200, what about you?
us crazy ron paul poll hackers/spammers certainly are only a few. i mean, we didnt make history by raising the most money online in one day or anything. oh wait....we did. will the media continue to black us out? they cant. we have the numbers to prove that.
btw, ppl who say "oooh but kerry just raised so much more in one day that ron paul" guess what....that was after the primaries so shut up, i am sick of hearing your uneducated remarks. - pkonink, on 11/07/2007, -3/+60I'm voting for Paul, but I think Gravel is great. I just don't think he would make a great leader, but actually his views are probably a bit closer to mine than RPs overall.
My main reason for voting for any candidate is the limitation of executive power, period. More than any war or tax or whatever. Limiting executive power and restoring balance to the 3 branches is what this election is all about, and I trust RP the most of all the candidates to do that. - cyberdork, on 11/08/2007, -13/+63First of all it's not an 800lb gorilla, it's more like a 15lb spider monkey. Second, it's just standing in the room because you constantly poked him with a stick and now he is out to get you. I know I know, you belong to those brown shirts who also call Europe 'Eurabia', ignoring the fact that 97% of the EU population are NOT Muslim.
Oh yeah, and Ron Paul supporters are not smelly cummy hippies, they are conservatives who live in log cabins and jerk off to Jericho ;-) - freebasen, on 11/08/2007, -0/+49Actually on a personal level I think he is anti-abortion. I saw him on PBS about two weeks ago and he stated that as a doctor he took an oath to do no harm. HOWEVER, the beauty of a candidate like Dr. Paul is that he doesn't vote on his personal belief. He upholds the constitution. What a concept. When did we start voting based on what a person's beliefs are instead of their ability to uphold the law anyway?
- wysiwygd, on 11/08/2007, -6/+54I'm not a smelly hippie either. I've been following Ron Paul for years hoping he would run for President. I like the man and what he stands for. The rest of them stink.
- tman84, on 11/13/2007, -3/+51yeah he's obviously two faced, because when i go to youtube and look up his campaign speeches from 1988, he's saying the exact same things he is saying today. what kind of polititian stays so consistent on all the issues his whole political career. definitely a two faced flip flopper.
- BrandonMills, on 11/07/2007, -2/+49By the time the Superbowl hits, it will be too late. In case you guys aren't paying attention, the primaries are *really* freaking early this time around. By early January, it's all going to be over.
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -3/+49But msnbc is planing to give rosie o'donnell her own news program. (No. I'm not kidding)
So, there ya go. - drowningfish, on 11/13/2007, -6/+49This is all well and good. But let's be honest here. How many of you are going to switch your Party to Republican, and vote in your respective State's Primary Election? Donating is not enough. If you are an Independent or Democrat or not even registered you will not be able to vote for him in the Primary! I think the individuals whom put this "5th of November" campaign together also need to get people REGISTERED Republican to vote.
Otherwise this is a waste of time, and none of this will ever be taken seriously by the mainstream. Hell all the mainstream media is focusing on is not the 4 million dollars gained, but instead the "Guy Fawkes" story behind November 5th. So the "message" is once again being lost to mainstream mis-interpretation / mis-information.
If all you can do is donate $100.00, and won't take the time to vote or do what is necessary for you to vote for this man. Then piss off and thank you for wasting your time, money, and my faith in this Country's ability to re-take what is ours. - dsmx, on 11/08/2007, -16/+59I still find it depressing the only reason Ron Paul gets mentioned on most websites is because of how much he raises rather than his policies.
- fractalman, on 11/13/2007, -4/+45Did you figure that out all by yourself??? Or did your mommy help you? Proof that "No child left behind" is working.
- jcroisant4, on 11/13/2007, -7/+47Looks like Ron's bank account just got WOOT'd
- bonked, on 11/13/2007, -1/+41Well considering the donations are tracked in real time and the average donation was a mere $103 your point goes to crap.
- thtroyer, on 11/08/2007, -8/+47Have you listened to Ron Paul speak at all?
