http://www.lettertogop.com/ - RomanticRights, on 06/10/2008, -23/+299Ron Paul's grassroots support is amazing - I hope that he and Bob Barr (the Libertarian candidate for president) wreak havoc on McCain's campaign throughout the General Election.
- PeaceChicken, on 06/10/2008, -20/+228I'll see you there, Ron!
- StormCommander, on 06/10/2008, -19/+202What would be hilariously embarrassing to Johny is when this has more people at it then the actual convention.
- stienster, on 06/10/2008, -20/+188WRITE IN!! Ron Paul all the way!
- kemp34, on 06/10/2008, -17/+161Restore the Republic.
- Anntink, on 06/10/2008, -19/+158Guess I'll save my vacation time; hadn't planned on go to Minneapolis, but why not? just hope I can afford to pay the price for gas by then.
- oruval, on 06/10/2008, -17/+150Can't wait to hear you speak about Constitutional Freedoms again good sir..
- juankovo, on 06/10/2008, -17/+146Whoa ... now that's a smart move by the Paul campaign!
- Gronga, on 06/10/2008, -18/+141Awesome :) I hope we steal some of the media. the non Faux (unfair and unbalanced) news people.
- carpespasm, on 06/10/2008, -14/+129I bet his convention has more people in attendance, but way less coverage.
- kolinkoolface2, on 06/10/2008, -29/+144Can we all take a minute and look at how vastly different Obama and Pau reallyl are. Digg never comes up with negative stories on Obama. Here's the most recent one that should make Obama supporters rethink their candidate:
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/OBAMA_Wants_Nati ... - huertanix, on 06/10/2008, -16/+110Hells yeah!
- Jeezopete, on 06/10/2008, -18/+111Freedom IS popular! Spread the message! We will fill that arena and the streets too with so many freedom loving patriots... it will be quite a day to remember!
- rilla825, on 06/10/2008, -18/+107I am going to start saving money now so that I can afford to be there. I can cut out Pizza delivery, movies and CDs for a few months.
This is going to be something to tell your grandchildren about in the future....if we have a future. - adam1mc, on 06/10/2008, -14/+101I'll be there!
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -15/+101Keep on keepin' on, RP. I salute you.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 06/10/2008, -23/+105Ron Paul rocks!
- igeldard, on 06/10/2008, -18/+99Best wishes on a convention for liberty - from a supporter of Ron Paul in the UK
- DeepFriedFetus, on 06/11/2008, -10/+87The Party has been Ron Pauled.
- john2kdiggs, on 06/10/2008, -14/+89This is great news.
- sdigroup, on 06/10/2008, -18/+91He still has my Vote!
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -17/+77Ron Paul is the most awesome, super cool political candidate out there!
GO RON!! - plastiqmanb, on 06/10/2008, -24/+84RON PAUL 08!
- georgemason01, on 06/10/2008, -25/+81Ron Paul.
- StingingNettle, on 06/10/2008, -13/+68Please don't let Fox News in.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -10/+59I like how they downplay his support by emphasizing, "Paul, who raised 35 million, but mostly on the internet," like the intertubes is some kind of parallel dimension.
I wonder if Taft spun Roosevelt's fundraising by saying "Yes, but Teddy received it mostly by way of the federated mail delivery system." - samuellclemens, on 06/10/2008, -20/+65This is fantastic news! I'll also be in DC on July 12, and I'm just a broke college student. Please, if you love your country then stand up and be counted on the 12th or the 2nd or both! There are ways to travel cheaply - www.couchsurfing.com, amtrak, greyhound, hitch-hiking, do whatever it takes...we must show the GOP that we're serious.
- Kangalanatolian, on 06/10/2008, -3/+48I hate to criticize a man clearly moving in the right direction, but Bob Barr has a ways to go to represent Ron Paul.
The constitution party has already nominated Chuck Baldwin, good friend and very nearly a political position match with Ron Paul. Google Chuck Baldwin, it's all there. - adonajko, on 06/10/2008, -14/+59Neo-cons suck. period.
Applaud any and all efforts to pull votes from neo-con jobbers. Even if it means putting socialists in office. With socialists and collectivists in office at least then we have them defined and identified. - rexblade, on 06/10/2008, -12/+52I think that its more to show the enthusiasm and desire for the Republican party to return to its constitutional roots. That and to further highlight the lack of physical support for the GOP nominee. "Now thats not change we can believe in heheheehe (creepy laugh)"
- Xihix, on 06/11/2008, -19/+51Wow, front paged? Amazing.
- BuzzFriendly, on 06/11/2008, -6/+36Restore the United States Constitution Vote Ron Paul!
- spaceman84, on 06/11/2008, -1/+29Bob Barr is a ***** fraud. He is NOT a Libertarian, or even a conservative Republican. He's a neocon and everyone knows it. The Libertarian party nominated him solely because of his (marginal) name recognition as compared to the relatively unknown alternatives.
- TheMime, on 06/11/2008, -2/+28They didn't downplay his support at all, and you misquoted that. The article states, "Paul, a Green Tree native, surprised most of the political establishment by raising about $35 million, mostly via the Internet. Paul's Libertarian-leaning views created a following across a broad political spectrum."
It sounds like they were actually commending his campaign. - ryanmct, on 06/11/2008, -7/+32RON PAUL 2012!
- Frostman3D, on 06/11/2008, -7/+30I'm voting for Ron Paul period. I don't care if it is a "Wasted vote" because at least I won't be voting for the 2 ***** candidates we have to choose from. I can't vote for either of them in good conscience.
- kemp34, on 06/10/2008, -1/+24You are right. 0% coverage in the key week leading to super Tuesday. What a shame and farce.
http://www.journalism.org/node/9610 - cnot3, on 06/11/2008, -8/+31Obama supporters act as if everything will be fixed the minute he takes office, but in reality nothing will change. The degradation of our liberties will continue. The protection of our personal freedoms should be THE MOST IMPORTANT issue to any American, which is why I cannot conscientiously cast a vote for either McCain or Obama.
- kemp34, on 06/11/2008, -1/+24Principle is more important than party by far.
- cnot3, on 06/11/2008, -0/+22Its more of a symbolic gesture, a statement that we will not accept the lesser of two evils.
- juankovo, on 06/10/2008, -5/+26Ron has to actually register as a write-in candidate -- in every state -- or votes for him won't be counted. Then, every voter must write in his full name -- Ronald Ernest Paul -- or votes for him won't be counted.
Time to look at your other options. - theOster, on 06/11/2008, -1/+22was that designed in frontpage?
- koob, on 06/11/2008, -5/+24Freedom? I shower in that *****.
- oconnor11, on 06/11/2008, -3/+22As far as the article, Dr. Paul has not conceded. People need to do a search on the 1860 Republican National Convention when Abraham Lincoln won. He went in with only 22 delegates and there was a presumptive nominee. Dr. Paul received about 1,100,000 votes across the nation. He deserves a speaking role in the National Convention regardless of whether he supports McCain or not. Darn I wish I could be there in September!
- jask0, on 06/11/2008, -4/+23He still has my vote as well.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -6/+24He's awesome
- cnot3, on 06/11/2008, -4/+21Evil prevails so long as good men do nothing. Paul will continue to spread his message of freedom, nomination or no. Hopefully it will not fall on deaf ears, and more Americans will realize that our fundamental liberties are quickly being stripped away. We are all lucky to have a man like him, fighting for our rights in Congress.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -2/+19Considering the media coverage Ron Paul has been receiving up to this point, don't get your hopes up.
