- QuantumBios, on 01/04/2009, -6/+76I'm reading his book, "A Foreign Policy of Freedom" right now (got it for Christmas), and he was giving speeches on the House floor regarding this type of situation in 1982! This man should be our president.

- normlsparky, on 01/04/2009, -5/+59I gotta give Paul his due respect on this issue. The US shouldn't be intervening militarily in the affairs of other nations. It is painfully obvious that the US is just using Israel as a foothold in the middle east.
- NeoConned08, on 01/04/2009, -4/+53Too bad everyone is busy watching Iron Chef or American Idol. The average American couldn't even point out where the middle east is on the map, much less care about our involvement there.
- dylio, on 01/04/2009, -5/+53It gives me a little bit of hope that at least some of the men in Washington are trying to look out for America first.
- brentsanders, on 01/04/2009, -4/+48thanks for the update!
- ChileanGoD, on 01/04/2009, -5/+46I gotta correct him on one thing though... They haven't been fighting there for hundred or thousands of years. My Lebanese friend told me that before the creation of the state of Israel, Jews and Arabs lived in peace with each other. Is when the European Jews came in with the state of Israel that the whole ***** started to hit the fan. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Though I have doubts about libertarianism I really like what I hear about Ron Paul. It's the first American politician that I have heard referring openly to what the United-States does around the world as Imperalism. - inactive, on 01/04/2009, -6/+33The seemingly only voice of sanity in D.C. - mfc5200, on 01/04/2009, -1/+27"there is no benefit to us being involved"
"we give Israel weapons"
"we will be blamed and more hated by the Arab world, there will be consequences"
...bingo.... - tajitj, on 01/04/2009, -1/+26Great example. Friday I heard on the radio a man who called in and thought Pakistan was launching rockets into Israel. He totally supported Bushes war in Iraq, and also supported Israel going into Gaza. He had to be educated by the host on Hamas doing the firing.
That to me is the typical idoit who voted for McCain. Same as the idiots who voted for Obama. - richmomz, on 01/04/2009, -5/+29Handing out billions of dollars in foreign aid to both sides in this conflict is insanity, especially in our current economic situation. Ron is dead-on; we need to bring the troops home (all of them, not just in Iraq and Afghanistan), quit blowing trillions of dollars on B.S., and our economic and foreign policy conditions will improve DRASTICALLY.
- McLieberman, on 01/04/2009, -1/+24Well lets examine this shall we.
1) Israel is in Violation of UN resolution and should NOT be occupying the PALESTINE land in GAZA and the WEST BANK ! What they have done is create a CAGE (walls) around gaza and they the IDF only allows ingress and egress into GAZA !! That my friends is called OCCUPYING!
2) Then they Blockade GAZA from food, fuel the basic necessaties for months and that is NOT an act of WAR?
3) In the WEST BANK they destroy houses build by PALESTINES because they claim they have no building permits yet they are the ones that ISSUE THEM !! Bunch of humps!
4) Israel then WANTS FREE USA taxpayer money yearly in the billions then uses that money to BUY military HARDWARE from the good ole USA and uses this to kill KIDS with our money! Makes you feel good inside right?
5) ISRAEL PR MACHINE blackmails and bribes imho all the US media outlets (plus they are mostly jewish owned anyway) to SLANT PUBLIC PERCEPTION TOWARDS THE TERRORIST STATE ITSELF.
6) Name me one thing NEGATIVE about Israel in the US Print or TV media? ONE THING I am waiting!
7) OBAMA is silent on the matter yet when Russia attacked Georgia he was screaming his HEAD off!! But now he says ONE PRESIDENT at a time!! What BS ! He is owned by the Israeli's imho
8) Time to lower the AMERICAN flag at the White House and Capitol and PUT UP THE ISRAELI FLAG since it also has become Occupied terrority!
Follow the trail of AIPAC money, The Israeli Lobbyists, and the Washington DC (District of Criminals) aka Israeli Firsters. May all those SELLOUTS in Washington wear the blood on their hands and face for all to see. And the Totalitarian US gov is giving another $30 BILLION to the Jewish state of Israel. then look for more through subsidies, ESF, USAID, joint development projects. THeft of the American people to commit Destruction and Death!
Wake-up Americans to these Chromed Communists! - Hetman, on 01/04/2009, -4/+26"Here the madman fell silent and looked again at his listeners; and they, too, were silent and stared at him in astonishment. At last he threw his lantern on the ground, and it broke into pieces and went out. "I have come too early," he said then; "my time is not yet. This tremendous event is still on its way, still wandering; it has not yet reached the ears of men. Lightning and thunder require time; the light of the stars requires time; deeds, though done, still require time to be seen and heard. This deed is still more distant from them than most distant stars---and yet they have done it themselves." - Nietzsche
Ron Paul has come to early. And like the madman by time everyone wakes up it will have been to late. - MRoCkEd, on 01/04/2009, -3/+25Learn more about libertarianism at these resources:

You'll see through the left/right paradigm as well as the issues plaguing some Libertarians.

- MooseOfReason, on 01/04/2009, -4/+21Be glad American Idol doesn't start for another week. :p
But you're right. We need educated citizens. Otherwise, the government uses the people like a doormat. - mykidsfuture, on 01/04/2009, -4/+21http://campaignforliberty.com
Support Ron Paul - MooseOfReason, on 01/04/2009, -1/+17Right. Let's make our country go bankrupt by propping up unprofitable companies run by incompetent people.
He's not clueless. He's a capitalist. Companies should be allowed to go out of business. People might lose their jobs. But if we try to spend trillions of dollars that we don't have, you're going to make a lot more people lose their job, as well as the value of their money. - richmomz, on 01/04/2009, -8/+23THE video Israel does not want the world to see - aftermath of Jan 1 bombing of a Gaza marketplace: http://digg.com/world_news/BANNED_VIDEO_pulled_fro ...
WARNING: The video that this digg article links to is EXTREMELY graphic (as in women and children maimed/bleeding to death, screaming, etc.) so if you've got a weak stomach I suggest you just digg the story to get the word out and move on - I almost threw up when I watched it. However, PLEASE take a moment to digg this up - there is currently a serious effort to bury this and it still has not hit the front page after 350 diggs. - ciaran036, on 01/04/2009, -3/+18Predictably, we didn't hear a word from Obama on this! It's a pity Ron Paul didn't win the election. We could have guaranteed ourselves a much better future with Ron Paul than puppet Obama.
- tajitj, on 01/04/2009, -6/+21Looking at your profile you seem to be obsessed with Israel. You and your views are the reason we as a nation are here. If Israel and its security is the #1 interest in your life go live there and join the IDF.
I as a Indiana born America do not think Israel is that important to my survival.
Go read the Constitution. - xprojects, on 01/04/2009, -2/+17Too bad everyone is busy watching Iron Chef or American Idol. The average American couldn't even point out where the middle east is on the map, but they all care about Israel for some stupid ass religious reason even though most of them have never been there.
Fixed it for you. - inactive, on 01/04/2009, -3/+18scumbag's!
- Syphax23, on 01/04/2009, -2/+17"In the execution of such a plan, nothing is more essential than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular nations, and passionate attachments for others, should be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated. The nation which indulges towards another a habitual hatred or a habitual fondness is in some degree a slave.
It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest. . . .
So likewise, a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88REf0tjZHo - silentboom, on 01/04/2009, -2/+15Monsanto wouldn't be this big and powerful if we had truly free markets. It is the regulations themselves that enable almost monopolistic power to these corporations.
- MooseOfReason, on 01/04/2009, -1/+14Ferretman, Why's he mistaken?
We give foreign aid and weapons to almost every country in the Middle East.
Why should we hand over billions of taxpayer dollars to Israel? If they were a company, and the government had been giving them money for thirty years and still not able to survive on its own, I'd call that a bad investment and I think we should stop giving them money. - rothbard77, on 01/04/2009, -0/+12IF you would go back and look at some of the early presidential debates, you will see that it was Ron Paul that had already seen the recession coming, while others were still positive on the economy - I remember Giuliani's skys the limit quote, and also McCains Clueless answer to RPs Economic question about the presidents plunge protection team.
OF the dems only Kucinich and Gravel said anything about a coming recession. Obama was either clueless or misrepresenting - omegaant, on 01/04/2009, -0/+12Ah, but Israel can survive on its own. It would require a true Socratic dialogue in which they were forced to answer the question "why" to every one of their excuses for attacking the Palestinians. For example, "Why" do they think Hamas exists? Just for fun?
- AbsurdParadox, on 01/04/2009, -4/+16Man, NoLibertarians, I love your posts.
You are either a ***** dumbass, or a comedic genius. - Hetman, on 01/04/2009, -4/+16So you are a war mongerer that does not make you better. Any ways as Ron Paul mentioned. Isreal has nukes and one of the best militarizes in the world. They do not need our help or aid. They should be able to be self sufficient.
- ileftfark, on 01/04/2009, -2/+13Thank God! I thought I missed an episode! Did you see the one where Simon was all cheeky, and then Paula tried to defend the singer by saying something totally incoherent? It was priceless! Can't wait for it to start!
Oh, is there something going on in Gaza? - inactive, on 01/04/2009, -3/+14I'm not you.
- tajitj, on 01/04/2009, -5/+16That comment tells it all. You are nothing but a angy at all cost Israel supporter. To bring on state hatred shows your real character. You know nothing of history and have picked up on some ultra liberal, neoconservative talking point about Ron Paul.
I am glad people like you are not on our side. You will be lost looking for answers. I would love to talk to someone of your mindset and see if we can agree on some key points. - Hetman, on 01/04/2009, -2/+13Join the isreal foreign army and start fighting if you think it is such a great idea nolibertarians.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+10The title of the post is mis-leading. I watched out of curiosity and Ron Paul is, once again, right and makes very valid points. Too late though, America is involved... financially, politically and it supplies the arms... and Palistinians are basically in a concentration camp.
What is going on is shooting fish in a barrel... it is not a war, it is a slaughter. - phenry, on 01/04/2009, -3/+13You will never satisfy your bloodlust sitting there playing with yourself in front of a computer. Go join an army and get to killin'. Or are you just a jingoist 'pussy' yourself?

http://zope.gush-shalom.org/home/en/events/1231029 ... - Hetman, on 01/04/2009, -6/+14It is called a deterrent. The same reason we did not go to war with Russia. I do not believe America should police the world. We do not have the resources and we should also not be intervening in every conflict in the world.
- MooseOfReason, on 01/04/2009, -4/+12Bernk1, Neoconservatives are liberals disguised as conservatives.
- tajitj, on 01/04/2009, -5/+13Israel is a well funded country able to defend itself. What do you mean by partner? I love you people support war and funding all over the world without know what any of it does at the local level.
We are on one side or the other. Israel should have done this years ago. Along with taking out Iraq and Iran. That way our neocon Zionist would not think they have to. - kemp34, on 01/04/2009, -0/+8I am not even an Obama supporter and I get Obama email requests for donations at least twice a week. Do you criticize his soliciting as much as you do Ron Paul? BTW, I AM a Paul supporter and I get asked far less than I do by Obama, who I have never donated to. See a problem here?
