- JCSaint, on 11/01/2007, -3/+57I would assume that's a joke (because of the whole "two first names" thing) but his name is "chucknorrisman" and Chuck Norris is just as crazy. (Don't tell him I said that. I don't want a roundhouse kick to the face.)
The two term limit was only tradition until Roosevelt won four elections. Then Congress decided to write it into the constitution. So no, it's never been done before. The second anyone decides to suspend elections for security reasons, you'll see riots in the streets. It'll make every protest this country has ever had seem like a small disagreement between friends.
Why? Because it would be a total and utter violation of the Constitution which is supposed to be the supreme law of the land regardless of any legislation or executive order that the government tries to pass. That's the whole point of it. It's the framework for our country and though it's been twisted and bent recently, if it's ever truly broken, then America fails. The country would be done and may never recover because you've now established a precedent that the Constitution is irrelevant. The only law that would matter would be the whims of whoever is in the presidency since the executive has been centralizing more and more power under Bush. We really would turn into a dictatorship. - vguard, on 10/12/2007, -9/+61What glowing example of boot licking cowardice!
If you don't like Freedom, why don't you just leave the country? - clownguyx, on 11/01/2007, -4/+40I'm going to cry.
- JCSaint, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29I just realized responding to Chuck Norris distracted me from the comment I wanted to make.
This is an online poll. It doesn't really mean much. You'll probably see a few legitimate polls released in the next week or so to see if the debates had any impact and you probably won't see much movement. If Ron Paul moves up in those, then you can get excited. As of now, keep your panties on and if you really like him, donate some dollars and see if there's a local campaign HQ in your state so you can volunteer, especially if you're in an early primary state. - korbink, on 10/12/2007, -7/+28You can also vote for Ron Paul's performance at the debate by going to www.drudgereport.com
It's right on the front page and no registration is required. - meltingrobot, on 11/01/2007, -4/+22Umm, Ron Paul is against full government legislation for or against abortion. He believes that is a state decision. Why does everybody just say he's against abortion without explaining why he votes the way he does?
- keyboardduder, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22none, hes not being serious. Nobody is that stupid
- nebbo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Because he does not want ANY regulation of the Internet.
- RonPaulPres2008, on 11/01/2007, -9/+24Ron Paul can do it people! This is for real! Do not give up, do not have that "he won't win" attitude. He is at the top of the list right now. RON PAUL CAN WIN!!! Please everyone stand behind him and put forth effort! We can do this! For the first time in American history... we can have a true leader, a doctor, and more! Stand together, spread the word, tell people, link him to people on YouTube... Please make an effort my fellow Americans... our future depends on YOU!
- luther70, on 10/12/2007, -11/+25Ron Paul is going to get more Diggs then he is going to get votes in the Republican primaries.
- 3tcp, on 10/12/2007, -12/+25Democracy 1992 - Rock the Vote
Democracy 2008 - Spam the Vote
The more we fake it to look like someone is doing well the better chance they have of doing well! - mynameismudd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18Why stop at 4 or 5 terms? Bush is 61 and exercises regularly. I could see him living another 30-40 years. Heck why not keep him in power even after he dies? Ever see Weekend at Bernies?
- vguard, on 10/12/2007, -9/+21Quick opinion poll:
Is chucknorrisman?
1. A Crypto-fascist
2 A Cointelpro "Mockingbird"
3. Or just a mindless parrot? - Corrosionx, on 11/01/2007, -0/+12Freedom requires you respect the freedom of others.
Forcing people to pay to spread "freedom" is totally contrary to the principles of freedom.
Freedom is free. It requires nothing from you but to respect the freedom of others (life, liberty, property).
Anything else is slavery passing itself as freedom. - aknappjr, on 11/01/2007, -6/+18Ron Paul is FOR stem cell research! He said that the markets and the states should decide. He is AGAINST FEDERAL FUNDING for stem cell research. I don't want my tax dollars going toward stem cell research, abortion, bridges to nowhere, more war, bigger and more nukes, corporate and farm subsidies, warfare, welfare, ect. Most Americans agree with most of what I said, and most of what Ron Paul says.
The markets, it is my understanding, have decided that while stem cell researach is valuable, adult stem cell research is more tangible, so, as I understand it, more private research money goes to that. But whatever genius inventor discovers a way to use stem cells, and whatever investor invests in this inventor, to cure disease will be a millionaire/billionaire, and potentially millions of people along the way. - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18Not to spam, but I also just dugg this related story:
http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_excluded_from_ABC_online_poll
which really got my goat. What the hell is ABC doing? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+22VOTE FOR RON PAUL
- hoppdawg, on 10/12/2007, -8/+18'08 showdown: Mormons vs Libertarians
- CannedMango, on 11/01/2007, -4/+14A quick summary of Ron Paul's performance
Who stood out from the pack? * 35607 responses
Ron Paul 28% (1st)
Who showed the most leadership qualities? * 35167 responses
Ron Paul 23% (2nd)
Who was the most convincing candidate? * 35008 responses
Ron Paul 26% (1st)
Who had the most rehearsed answers? * 34404 responses
Ron Paul 5.3% (7th lowest) (but well below McCain's 30% and Giuliani's 22%)
Who avoided the questions? * 33409 responses
Ron Paul 5.7% (5th lowest) (much lower than Giuliani's 34%)
Who had the best one-liner? * 33561 responses
Ron Paul 23%(1st)
So, what you have here is a candidate who's answers the viewer's respect who doesn't dodge questions and speaks from his opinions rather than from pre-rehearsed answers. Looking good for Paul! - GeneralAntilles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Because he's against Federal regulation of industries. It's a Constitutional issue that has nothing to do with the actual content of the bill.
- dcmjzero, on 11/01/2007, -3/+12@republicker
"Last time I check there was still "Im god we trust" on our money."
and it was added almost 100 years after the 1776 (http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.shtml)
"We fought the british for religious freedom you *****."
Wrong. The brits didn't care who we believed in as long as we paid taxes. Taxes and independence is what we fought for. Where did you go to school?
"I love hearing that the founding fathers and everyone who initailly died for this country were atheists or some bogas ***** like that."
Lots of them were. Sorry, facts are facts.
"Your just pissed cause christians outnumber you and you will never get your way. For God and Country *****, ever hear of it."
I am a Christian, but this is (and has been since its founding) a secular country. And judging by your comments and writing style, you are uneducated. Please do us a favor and don't spread your uninformed opinions. And while you are at it, don't breed either. - jeanette3654, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Instead of spending all your time on this site calling each other names, why not do what I did, an in depth study of Dr. Paul's legislative record. It speaks for itself. It's why, even if he doesn't get the nomination, I'm voting for him.
Study his record. Do the damn work. - joet86, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12From what I saw of the debate (my friends and I played a drinking game where we chugged every time someone mentioned Ronald Reagan, so we were out pretty quick), Ron Paul was the only candidate who didn't seem like a phony.
- afeitarse, on 11/01/2007, -1/+9@republicanlicker
Last time I checked, the Constitution is not the Declaration of Independence. - tidu, on 11/01/2007, -2/+10I love the incessant phrases used by Bush and his supporters, "stay the course" "freedom is not free" etc
- specsaregood, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12And yet ABC intentionally leaves him out of their poll. http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_excluded_from_ABC_online_poll
Strange... - rc007, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Ron Paul was excellent last night. It is unfortunate that he is not getting much of a media coverage. Just shows you that good guys won't get elected because of media bias.
- aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Network neutrality sounds great. But what it really is, is the government regulating the internet. All packets are NOT created equal. The way the free market works is that if ISPs start to favor THIER packets, users will demand they change, switch ISPs, and the ISPs will get bad publicity, and the market will self correct. That is the genius behind freedom, and why GOVERNMENT REGULATION OF THE INTERNET, in the form of "network neutrality", is horrible for the internet.
- EntropyMan, on 11/01/2007, -4/+11@Pub-licker, "In God We Trust" was added much later, as was 'Under God" in the pledge -- in the 1950's in fact. You know much less than you think you do. There is not a single reference to God in the Constitution -- why is that, I wonder?
None of the FFs would claim they were atheists--but many believed along the lines of Spinoza, that God was not some personality sitting on a throne. The rejection of a divine king of England is a rejection of that model of the universe, for a much more individualistic one, where God simply IS the universe. That's not atheistic at all, but certainly not along the lines of "Jesus is my Congressman." - LeeJunFan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6When I looked this morning he was at 41%
- cywar, on 11/01/2007, -3/+9 For any that may still have doubted how the "main Stream media" manipulates us, the people of America, the coverage of this debate should convince you of that fact.
Ron Paul was the only candidate that spoke to the concerns of the American people.
Look how they are reacting to Ron Paul winning the MSNBC poll. They are trying to laugh it off like its a joke, very similar to the way the Establishment has treated the American people
- inactive, on 11/01/2007, -2/+8The thing about Paul is that he is against GOVERNMENT GRANTS for these issues! It has nothing to do with whether or not he agrees with these issues. It's about what you expect your country to financially support.
If you're the type that thinks it's ok to steal from one group of folks and give the money to someone else or to some idea or cause, then Paul is not for you. You should be voting for the CPA; Communist Part of America....or to the Democrats. - Racerx52, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I am very surprised. I had expected McCain to own this one...
Go Paul! - deesnutz, on 11/01/2007, -6/+12Ron Paul has a shot. He's the only realistic Republican candidate out there. You could help him by showing support ... http://www.buygopgear.com
- conspinut, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Oh yeah?
try voting for ron paul on this page then.

conspiracy or not? - jae1227, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8----------------GO VOTE FOR RON PAUL RIGHT NOW!!!!----------------
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18421356/ - schoate09, on 11/01/2007, -4/+9You're right, freedom is not free. But what exactly does Iraq have to do with this? Iraq posed no threat to us whatsoever, and never did. Why should we keep Bush in office for the rest of the "War on terror". The real war on terror has to do with Al-quieda, not dumping money into senseless "reconstruction" of a harmless country, that will likely fail anyway. In either case, Bush mismanaged Iraq, and the real "War on Terror" as Osama is still free today. I'd see no reason to keep that dumb ass in office.
For my children's future sake, I say, get him out, he's killing the economy, national debt, and causing more international uproar. (The whole world hates us). I like what Ron Paul said last night, we should basically get out, stay out of everyone's business, and get rid of foreign support. Keep our boys and our money here at the homeland, for people here who are poor, and suffering. (Look in Louisiana, there's plenty of them...still.) Who exactly are we, that if there's a conflict between two nations, not affecting us, to go policing the world? - c0y0t3, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9@republiker
http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.shtml
In god we trust was put on money in 1957, you twit. There is a good reason the constitution requires and delineates a separation of church and state, regardless of how much you evangelical history re-writers would like it to be otherwise. - OutcastJiob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ridiculous. I left feedback for ABC regarding their "oversight" and would suggest that everyone else do the same.
- Me1on, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7There's also about 30 other polls to vote for him in here: http://www.ronpaulpresshub.com/wiki/index.php?title=Polls
(I submitted the link to digg here: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Help_spread_the_word_about_Ron_Paul ) - Jolls, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5your right. we do advocate that. If it isn't a human right violation why should the government step in and do for us what we are too lazy to do? If a corporation is doing something that they shouldn't, take control of the situation: get the facts, educate the people, get people to join you, write letters, ban, picket, march, and stop the evils of the corporation. Don't sit back and say "government, come fix this problem for me".
- Phaedrus40207, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10Your comment is much appreciated, as I hadn't had the opportunity to use the word "*****" yet today.

My sarcasm meter is going crazy...either that, or God just killed about a bajillion kittens. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Strange and enlightening.
I wonder if they see a threat? - fisharmor, on 11/01/2007, -2/+6As stated, he is not voting on D or R values.
Every single one of his votes can be summed up like this: If it is not specifically prescribed by the US constitution, in black and white letters, and doesn't require some stretching of the meaning of words (like how "the people" really means the state), then he votes against it.
Period.
The idea that everyone fails to grasp is that as long as the feds are calling the shots, you and I aren't.
If everything that governs our lives is brought back to state control, that brings it that much closer to you and I actually having a say in what we get to do in our lives. - im2emo4myshrt, on 11/01/2007, -1/+5@rebuplicker
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence; he was a deist, not a Christian. And the Declaration of Independence was written to a Anglican King who did believe in God, it is much easier to convince someone of their wrong doings using their own belief system. And finally, by saying "endowed by their creator" does not in any way mean we were founded on a Christian belief system. It doesn't even imply the United States was founded on any religion. Obviously their is a creator, whether it's a God or just some initial energy, it is still "the creator". - thefaithful, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7"The second anyone decides to suspend elections for security reasons, you'll see riots in the streets."
Sadly I kind of doubt this. The general populace would just take it like they take most things the government does. - jeffiek, on 11/01/2007, -2/+6@Entropyman
" being against government funding for stem cell research is being against it"
