Buy a Ticket! - dom7p, on 08/30/2008, -3/+62Unlike the GOP Convention: The Rally for the Republic is inexpensive $17.76 and free if you happen to be in the right place at the right time. This Rally for the Republic, the great USA is open to all, Republicans, Independents, Democrats,Green Party, Constitution Party, etc.... All are welcomed stand up for our country with other Passionate and Patriotic Americans! Great guest speakers and Big Name entertainers!!
- oconnor11, on 08/30/2008, -3/+61Grea article except Associated Press writer, Suzanne Gamboa, got one thing wrong. We’re not anti-immigration…….we’re anti-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Big difference. We’re against subsidizing illegal immigrants. I personally don’t want my tax money to reward law breakers. If foreigners truly want to come here, let them get in line like all those who are going about it the right way. Giving illegals a free ride isn’t fair to U.S. citizens nor the immigrants who truly want to come here and be Americans.
- dom7p, on 08/30/2008, -3/+47The Ron Paul Freedom Lovers Brigade is on it's way... On-On Patriots On-On!!!!!!! From Orlando FL, where are Minneapolis bound!!
- kerston, on 08/30/2008, -3/+43Great Article! Except it makes it sound like we are all a bunch of hippies and college kids. No offense to you young people among us but you know what I mean. There are as many of us more mature (old folks to be fair lol) flying from other time zones, staying in hotels, using, vacation time, ect... It is misleading how this movement is always portrayed to be only young people. There are just as many in the 30-70 (probably even older) very active in the campaign. The young people involved are intelligent, free thinking, aware, and educated on the issues. All Americans should be proud of thier dedication to this country, the Constitution, patriotism, and the freedom we hold so dear! Kudos to the youth among us!!!!!!! See you at the Rally for the Republic! 47 yr old from Va. & my 53 yr old spouse.
- NeoConned08, on 08/30/2008, -5/+45Ron Paul.......The ONLY anti-war candidate. A Foreign Policy of Freedom is an EXCELLENT book by him that shows hands down why our foreign policy is unsustainable. War becomes perpetual when it is used as a rationale for peace. The 20th century was the bloodiest in all of history BECAUSE of organizations like the UN and NATO. Hiding behind a facade of desired world peace while feeding the military industrial complex with a steady stream of contracts for ever increasing numbers of bombs/fighter jets/tanks is totally immoral.
Here are just a few quotes from Dr.Paul:
"Humanitarianism, delivered by a powerful government through threats of massive bombing attacks, will never be a responsible way to enhance peace. It will most surely have the opposite effect."
"Today we attempt, directly or indirectly, to dictate to other sovereign nations who they ought and ought not have as leader, which peace accords they should sign, and what form of government they must enact. How limited is the distinction between our actions today and those of the emperors of history?"
"ONLY Congress can decide the issue of war. Congress CANNOT transfer the constitutional war power to the president or to NATO or to the United Nations."
"Our policy, whether is is with Iraq or Serbia, of demanding that if certain actions are not forthcoming, we will unleash massive bombing attacks on them, I find reprehensible, immoral, illegal, and unconstitutional. We are seen as a world bully, and a growing anti-American hatred is the result."
"Citing NATO agreements or UN resolutions as authority for moving troops into war zones should alert us all to the the degree to which teh rule of law has been undermined. The president has NO war power; ONLY the Congress has that. When one person can initiate war, by its definition, a Republic no longer exists."
"Believe me, most of the evil done by elected congresses and parliaments throughout all of history has been justified by good intentions. But that does not change anything. It just makes it harder to stop."
"The best way we can promote support for our troops is to employ them in a manner that is the least provocative. They must be given a mission confined to defending the United States, NOT policing the world or taking orders from the United Nations, or serving the special commercial interests of U.S. corporations around the world."
"It is precisely because of the way we have entered into each military action since the 1940's without declaring war that their purposes have been vague and victory elusive, yet pain, suffering and long-term negative consequences have resulted."
"The Founders of this great nation abhorred tyranny and loved liberty. The power of the King to wage war, tax and abuse the personal rights of the American colonists drove them to rebel, win a revolution, and codify their convictions in a new Constitution."
"The best way to support our troops and our liberties is to have a policy that avoids unnecessary confrontation. A pro-American constitutional policy of nonintervention would go a long way toward guaranteeing maximum liberty and protection of life and property for all Americans. American interests around the world could best be served by friendship and trade with all who would be friends, and subsidies to none."
Please fellow Americans, come to your senses. We are being led down a path of destruction and it is only we who will be able to reverse this dangerous course. Spread the news about www.campaignforliberty.com because the time is drawing ever closer when the light of liberty that was once defined our great nation will be snuffed out and in its place will be the darkness of tyranny. - tajitj, on 08/30/2008, -3/+39This is going to be covered on C-Span and a whole host of news media. The GOP is badly divided by McCain. Anyone notice he is trying harder to get Hillary supporters then Republicans. He is taking conservative voters for granted or does not want them at all.
I personally will vote Libertarian.
http://www.lp.org/ - Lawofnations, on 08/30/2008, -3/+32Floor seats and volunteer here! See you guys in about 10 hours!
- DrReaper, on 08/30/2008, -2/+29Vote to support the law of the land or throw it away on lies. You decide but remember we are all equal under the constitution, that is why the government is doing all it can to add red tape. They want to make you use a federal ID. They want us to borrow money from China everyday. They want us to go to war without proof and say oops well we are there and now we have to stay. They have thousands of unconstitutional laws on the book like eminent domain for profit. What the people need is a constitution that is the supreme law of the land. Not a constitution ignored!
Join the campaign for liberty while liberty still exists. Liberty is the only thing worth fighting for...
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ - sandsafari, on 08/30/2008, -3/+26Absolutely THE place to be on September 2 if you want to learn the truth and be involved with some real thinking, caring people who want our country back! Ron Paul has, year after year, fought for our liberties and now it is time to show him how much we care about what he is doing for all of us.
- JettaMan, on 08/30/2008, -2/+21Well said. That seems to be a hard thing for a lot of journalists (and ordinary people) to distinguish. There is a difference between immigration and illegal-immigration.
- Pegasussix, on 08/30/2008, -3/+22Tune-in to Break The Matrix TV for live coverage of the Rally For The Republic beginning Sunday, August 31. Find the video and interactive chat at http://www.breakthematrix.com/channels/1 and the main website at http://www.breakthematrix.com for extensive content.
- Thinbev, on 08/30/2008, -3/+21Ron Paul Supporters aren't anti-immigration... Most of us are anti ILLEGAL immigration. There's no reason why our tax dollars should pay for people who break our laws by entering our country illegally.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+20This is good and refreshing news. RP is needed to stir things up, hopefully he won't give up. I wish it was him instead of McCain
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+15Fixed: More than 9,700 tickets had been sold for the Rally for the Republic, which seeks to bring together activists who are pro-peaceful relations, pro-free markets, pro-legal immigration, pro-low taxes, pro-sound money, pro-jobs for Americans, pro-individual liberty, pro-civil liberties and pro-Paul.
- ladygodiva3, on 08/30/2008, -2/+14Agreed !! My spouse and I are both 49 and we're making a vacation out of it and bringing our 17 yo and 25 yo sons!! We're flying in from Phoenix on Monday morning! I am very excited the younger people are so passionate about our country--I hate to admit I wasn't as informed when I was their ages. See you at the Rally!!
- DrReaper, on 08/30/2008, -2/+13I prefer patriot versus acolyte. I understand how reporters work.
Acolyte = an altar attendant in public worship.
Acolyte = any attendant, assistant, or follower.
Patriot = a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.
Patriot = a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, esp. of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+14Unlike the D&R gang conventions this one will be about people who recognize the lies the D&R gang are pushing and prefer peace and prospertity to war and depression.
- StingingNettle, on 08/30/2008, -3/+14"Republican Party spokeswoman Joanna Burgos said she had to research whether Paul was invited to speak when asked about a convention role for Paul. "Our focus is really on this side of the river," Burgos said. "We think there's enough excitement and energy on this side." McCain's campaign spokesman did not return a phone message."

- WilliamDavis, on 08/30/2008, -3/+12Unlike the GOP Convention, people aren't motivated by their own greed to attend.
- poprocksandsoda, on 08/30/2008, -5/+12I really hope that people like Ron Paul can work to bring together a legitimate group to contend with the Republican party (unlike the Dems). While I'm a Republican who is happy with McCain and Palin for this election, I know the importance of having new ideas and opinions making it into the mainstream on election day. I like choice.
While 2008 is not Ron Paul's year, 2012 and beyond holds tremendous promise. After this election there will be a flurry of Dems looking for a better party for their candidate. Groups like Huffington and Think Progress have made being or becoming a Democrat a matter of shame and not pride. - vbullinger, on 08/30/2008, -2/+9Wow, I hadn't thought about that: McCain is trying harder to get Hitlery voters than true conservatives. Odd. Sad day for true conservatives.
Bob Barr it is. - Pegasussix, on 08/30/2008, -4/+11Actually you're displaying the advantage of not watching "mainstream news." If it were truly "fair and balanced" then their watchers, such as yourself, would know that the Campaign For Liberty isn't about Dr. Paul's election, it's about supporting new, Constitutionally oriented candidates for all offices in the future.
I guess we "morons" are in good company, eh ufia? - kaelyiesta, on 08/30/2008, -2/+9I can argue this very point until the cows come home and people still can't see the distinction. Any time I raise the subject of our broken immigration system with people I know, I am branded as a xenophobe. Very frustrating.
- DrReaper, on 08/30/2008, -4/+9Main stream news is filled with half truths and opinion. They are going to main stream you out of your rights. Vote to uphold the constitution. It's the only reason you have any rights in the first place.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -4/+9He's out because they forced him out. If he was runnning independent I'd bet he would have way more votes than Perot back in 92
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -1/+5Once again you post your lies. Ron Paul has done more for black people than you have. If a person of any color was treated by Dr. Ron Paul and could not afford to pay him he waived the fee.
This completely debunked accusation is getting old, don't you have anything new to write? I could go back through your history and see that same false accusation a dozen times or more without much looking. - Thinbev, on 08/30/2008, -5/+9Hey Moron, maybe if you would read more online you'd know that we're not going there to support or campaign for Ron Paul. We're going there to support the message of freedom and limited government.
Just like there's this intense marketing push of Global Warming going around, we want to create an intense marketing push towards less government, freedom, less taxes, less government regulations, less government spending, and peace. Basically, the original American message that made America great.
This is a war of ideas and not some empty attempt of getting our "team" or individual in power. We're going to this rally to kick-off the beginning of our Campaign for Liberty. Get it straight bud. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -5/+9ufia I buried your lame comment because you didn't bother to find out what the rally is about. We know the presidential campaign is suspended because we now can donate unlimited amounts!!
- vincebodie, on 08/30/2008, -3/+6Before anyone jumps on RP's fans for being "over the top", have a look at this:
https://www.cia.gov:443/library/publications/the-w ... - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+5He could get 5% of republicans to vote for him..Where the hell did you get that idea ?? Even he admitted he couldn't do squat 3rd party..You folks live in fantasy land
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2Of course she said that, but he should be man enough to say "you come first dear"..it's that damn family values thing I guess..You know why he won't cancel ? Because all the lunatics that gave him money would crucify him !!
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -2/+4Bilking the dummies. I'm sure that she wouldn't have it any other way.
- DrReaper, on 08/30/2008, -1/+3The truth hurts....
- thepoliticalcat, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2He's the REAL maverick in this fiasco of an election.
- Striker101, on 08/31/2008, -0/+2Ron Paul is the only candidate talking any sense, but too little too late. A brainwashed society on the take.
- vincebodie, on 08/30/2008, -4/+5How do you know she didn't say "Honey, you've had this planned for months, and it's the culmination of your whole political career, and I'll be fine. Go ahead and go."... or something like that? It's not for you to judge, because you don't know all of the facts. This is not John Edwards hiding an affair from his ill wife, for dog's sake.
- FreedomRings, on 08/30/2008, -4/+5We'll be in Minneapolis! And I'm sure Luvie would have it no other way!
- Striker101, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too loing to get read, and so I didn't. Make your own post.
- inactive, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1Go eat a dick.
- jtamps, on 08/30/2008, -3/+4"...the last line of defense in support of freedom and the Constitution consists of the people themselves."
- guntario, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1@cashman
Don't argue with an idiot. When someone believes what they want contrary to clear evidence otherwise, it's obvious there's other factors involved. It's interesting to note how many Obama supporters I have talked to that haven't been able to come up with any reason as to why they're voting for him aside from him being black, and RP is considered the racist... - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -2/+3You and I paid her hospital tab..isn't that unconstitutional ??
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Sorry old paranoid one, I've been married for 37 years..You sure have one wild ass imagination..Are you on something ??
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1You know my damn tax money paid for her expensive care..That's unconstitutional, isn't it ??
- DrReaper, on 08/30/2008, -0/+1We don't need to convert MSM.
- brightlight4, on 08/31/2008, -0/+1Perhaps because there are others that are MUCH MUCH worse off than even a sick wife!!!!
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+1I'm not suggesting "converting" the MSM, and any group of people who can't figure out how much an impact the MSM has deserves everything they get. Which, to date, is nothing.
- AndyWhite, on 08/30/2008, -4/+4It's time for some peaceful, civil, and cordial celebrations of Liberty! Everyone is welcome, especially those who don't agree. All supporters of McCain and Obama are invited to come to the Rally for the Republic, for free!
