- V3n0M, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14In all the straw polls to date, McCain has finished in the Top 3 only 2 times, while Giuliani has finished in the Top 3 only 8 times. Meanwhile, Ron Paul has finished in the Top 3 at 16 different polls. And they call McCain and Giuliani "top-tier" while they exclude Congressman Paul?

It's damned sickening to see in a Country that these same people claim to be "free". - billm317, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4as someone pointed out elsewhere, this article is from April
The Ohio GOP's plans have apparently changed. No need to contact them about this
buried as inaccurate - indyattic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Somebody doesn't really understand grassroots, do they?
- whatthehell9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3this is dated - Friday, April 20, 2007
- katie212, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Errrr...uhhh...Nevermind!!! Damn posted in APRIL!!! Thanks guys.
- rhelwig, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Dammit. Old article. I had written the following, intending to send it to the newspaper when I finally noticed the publish date.
I can understand a reporter being a bit lazy, but allowing such a biased article to be published seems more like corruption than laziness. I am of course referring to the article about the straw poll the GOP is planning:
http://www.daytondailynews.com/localnews/content/oh/story/news/local/2007/04/20/ddn042007strawpollweb.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=16
The article lists only 3 Republicans as being in the top tier, but it gets those wrong. John McCain's candidacy is all but over, and he is no longer a top tier candidate. Rudy Giuliani doesn't qualify according to party chair Bennett's criteria since Mr. Giuliani has virtually no grass roots support. Mike Huckabee has more grass roots support than Giuliani.
In fact, there are only two Republican candidates that can be considered top tier: Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. Mitt Romney represents the moderate middle, trying to straddle all the fences he can in order to appeal to the widest possible audience. Ron Paul represents the moderate conservatives, sticking to his principles as he always does.
Please publish a retraction and/or correction for the heavily biased article you published. - adam1mc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2OLD

APRIL 2007?
As much as I love Ron Paul.. You are bury'd - craigob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I also dugg the story before I realized the date. Please bury as inaccurate, this article is out of date.
- janeuner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hi, I am a threadjacker. Before you start calling people and pissing people off, check the date on the article. Read the comments below - and bury this as inaccurate.
professor0fruit: Don't be a douche. - V3n0M, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Indeed. I checked the Upcoming Events section at ohiogop.org and there's no mention of any poll taking place. Also, to apologize for my earlier comment, this article was written before any of the other straw polls had taken place. Lesson learned: Always check the date!
- professor0fruit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0sorry guys didn't know it was so old, anyway how do you take a post down?
- delelles, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Mr. Bennet's direct email is: chairman@ohiogop.org
- katie212, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2I hope that each person who posts on this article will CALL the number and let them know in a polite and classy manner that they are INACCURATE in who has the grassroots support and that Ron Paul is the grassroots top tiered candidate. Please let them know that Ron Paul definitely should be in their poll in Ohio.
