- wetmetalthong, on 11/25/2007, -17/+306WTF is the deal with everyone calling Paul a racist & anti-semite? I mean, that's pretty goddamn low to make accusations so ***** baselessly. I know a lot of jewish people are calling him that because Paul wants us to stop sending Israel money (I'm all about it, too). I'm tired of seeing us police the world and dick with the affairs of others. I'm sick of the religion wars, and ***** mighty sick of the racist jews calling everyone else racist, and the intolerate christians calling everyone else intolerate.
may causality have mercy on us all. - xrayecho, on 11/25/2007, -19/+260Those poor folks over at Kos just don't have a clue.
"Put the Paul campaign in a test tube and study it. There are lessons here for insurgent netroots campaigns at all levels (not just Presidential). A $10 million one day take (which is nearly a third of Obama and Hillary's total fundraising in a single quarter), is perhaps the most remarkable online feat ever engineered in campaign history."
They just don't seem to get that we can only do this because we have a bulletproof message and an impeccable spokesman. All the "netroots" in the world will not help if you are selling rubber vomit. - ccro, on 11/25/2007, -11/+129Ron Paul wants to end foreign aid to all nations, not just Israel. Also, his stated position on Israel is that we weaken their sovereignty by our relationship with them--we try to use our influence to tell them how to fight their wars because we think we have a right to since we help them in other ways, for instance. And we increase the hatred and therefore the level of organization and foment against them. And he supports Israel. An Open Letter to the Jewish Community in Behalf of Ron Paul

Paul supports Israel's right to exist and defend itself http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_wou ... - theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -8/+95There's almost nothing to attack him on. I've noticed 3 modes of operation lately:
1) ignore
2) kook/racist/longshot card (all completely unfounded, lies, or mischaracterization)
3) go after his supporters
The 3rd one is especially vile. They have nothing against him legitimately, whether it be the media or the government or his own party, so they go after the supporters as being crazy. They're trying to put people into discreet categories and get us on the sheeple mentality. "the supporters are crazy, i dont want to be associated with them, therefore i wont support him". Insane. They're relying on the idea that we are just easily influenced sheep who can't think for ourselves, and who need to maintain herd mentality.
They really have no ammunition, whether it be a CNN smear article or the Neocon cult, they're gonna learn that this is one fight they cannot win. - Satanscock, on 11/25/2007, -7/+93What cracks me up is that all those negative comments are worth big bucks in donations to Ron Paul because it just motivates people to give more money.
Please remember to thank George Stephanopoulos and Sean Hannity and the KOS on the 16th. - soulmantim, on 11/25/2007, -6/+85The comments by the braindead Paul haters on Kos from this article is why I avoid that site like the plague.
They have a right like everyone else to post, but I have the right not to read such garbage.
They call him a racist and bigot, then when people from his campaign and his supporters speak out on video they call them "uncle toms".
What they don't know is the newsletter was written by an employee that was then fired AND now has a grudge against Ron Paul and is trying to run against him. I kid you not, this guy was quoted on Redstate.com to say that he'll run against Paul's congressional seat because he has a "kick-ass grassroots" and then listed his resume, which included knowing 10 to 15 languages!
Should we then fault Ron Paul for having someone that was campaigning for him then turn against him and attempt to smear him?
Maybe this is why Ron Paul has his family stump for him instead of unknowns most of the time.
Insane, someone teach those pro-Socialists something about economics and inflation and the loss of liberty as the cost of this pro-Nanny state mentality. - XBunnyRacer, on 11/25/2007, -4/+80*Gets Debit Card Poised for Donation in December 16th
- xrayecho, on 11/25/2007, -6/+68Anyone at Kos who start overtly supporting Ron Paul will get banned. They have made it clear that they their goal is to get Democrats elected. Period. I'm not attacking anyone at Kos. I am saying they think it's all about technique. They want to mimic Ron Paul supporters to somehow generate the same kind of excitement for a Democrat. It ain't going to happen. If a Democrat wins the White House this time around it will be because they will have sold the same lie that they did in 2006. "We're going to change everything." But it will still be the same cynical pandering they've been doing since Lyndon Johnson. The only difference between them and the establishment Republicans is who benefits from the theft of the citizens' wealth.
- grizzums, on 11/25/2007, -1/+55Perhaps someone wants to educate the folks that do not understand the "inflation tax".....I cannot post for 24 hours or I would...this chart says it all.
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$USD&p=D&yr=10&mn ... - kushed, on 11/25/2007, -3/+57I make a donation every time Ron Paul article hits front page. Just as I did now.
- theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -5/+58Kos will lose supporters then. The democratic party has already lost me- I was proud to have considered myself an Obama democrat. His 2004 DNC convention speech was a rallying cry for the party. Now, I see them for what they are- big government democrats. I agree with the sentiment of the democratic party, but I no longer believe its valid for them to spend our tax dollars on social programs. Nor is it right for big government republicans to spend tax dollars on war and nation building. Both parties are horribly, horribly misguided and the only solution is Ron Paul.
- UncleBadTouch, on 11/25/2007, -4/+55Netroots? Enough with these stupid new words.
- compulsive1, on 11/25/2007, -2/+53Exactly. They can study the campaign from a marketing POV all they want, if they try to apply the lessons learned in the future they better have a candidate who is as respectable as Paul.
His official campaign is not anything special and ground breaking. They didn't "engineer" his wide spread support. Ron Paul is so popular for the same reason politicians in general and this Congress and President in particular are despised. He is the anti-establishment candidate, without being a far out odd-ball. If there were more honest, common sense politicians in Congress, Ron Paul would be just another candidate with marginal coverage and low support. - hiphoc, on 11/25/2007, -12/+63Listen up folks, If you were going to donate for the Tea Party, donate on the 30th of November instead. December 16th cash can not be spent in time for the primaries. The campaign needs to buy more TV time for the early voting states. This was the real reason for the "establishment" moving up the primary dates. It was so someone like Dr Paul would not be able to build up steam and money to pull off an upset. So if you were waiting to donate, do it now. This is from a notice sent out by the campaign. I was waiting but instead I will just donate twice. Give what you can, thousands of us are with you and every bit counts. Love live the Revolution, we have a chance folks. Think of the blood shed for us during the Revolution when you are writing that check. www.rudysreadinglist.com/
- theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -3/+51How is huckabee a real conservative? No attacks, ok? I'd like to understand this.
He's a big government republican. You do realize that right? He wants to put a national ban on smoking... I'm no smoker, but I oppose the government controlling or banning anything I or anyone does in life. This is not conservatism... its socialism and borderline fascism. You too should care about this, don't you think?
He supports war in the middle east. This is also big government republicanism. He wants to spend my, your, everyone's tax dollars on foreign wars. That's reprehensible, and extremely unamerican from a historical standpoint. How do you rationalize your big government standpoints as compatible with conservatism?
I really believe the republican party, and conservatives especially, need to get back in touch with their roots. Conservatism used to mean small government and less spending, not being 'conservative' on social issues that you want to use big government to control people and spend tax dollars like there's no tomorrow. I think the counterculture movement of the 60's/70's really got the republican party all turned around, and the party went running to the extreme right to win elections (this is something that republicans of Nixon's era warned about). Now we have the Neocons, aka Big Government Republicans, who are no better than Liberals, aka Big Government Democrats. And you know who the loser is in all this? The American people. - fxu1989, on 11/25/2007, -6/+52Good luck RP.
I'll be donating. - stephbangm, on 11/25/2007, -2/+42This tea party is going to skyrocket Ron Paul's name a hundredfold! In a month, we'll have to become delegates to get Ron Paul the GOP nomination; As delegates, we'll be picking the GOP nominee just like the electors in the electoral college pick the President; Delegates determine and decide who the GOP nominee is—it's that critical!
Become a Delegate or Ron Paul will NOT be President

= - inactive, on 11/25/2007, -0/+39My favorite quote in the DailKos thread:
"I personally know six Democrats that have registered as Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. Paul is for real, and he's sucking the most activist Dems right out of the party! If Paul wins the primaries we Dems are going to be on the wrong end of a rout"
I've said it once, I'll say it again - Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who can reunite our country. - hiphoc, on 11/25/2007, -1/+39The key word here is defend yourself. With your own military and weaponry. Not blood of American soldiers. That is what we call entangling alliance. As Dr. Paul said, Israel has 200 nukes. They are very ok over there.
- lolwaffle, on 11/03/2008, -4/+42I thought the poster's side comments and push for Obama were unnecessary. Just post the article/news.
- georgemason01, on 11/25/2007, -2/+39The fact that people are still using the same old attack methods on Ron Paul even after he has shown tangible results of success so far is just pathetic. I've just been motivated to double my donation from $50 to $100 on December 16th just to shut these people up.
- lauroy8, on 11/25/2007, -6/+40Ron Paul is this country's last chance for freedom and prosperity. The rest of these goons have already been bought and paid for. There is an incredible chance here for American to regain its honor and its spirit. Will you choose Ron Paul for freedom and prosperity or will you choose corporate controlled tyranny?
- NightVortez, on 11/25/2007, -4/+38Most people seem to refer to an old newsletter a ghost witter wrote and Ron Paul authorized that made multiple racist remarks, since then he has denied that of being his work and his record shows no signs of consistency with it but the people who oppose Ron Paul don't seem to be able to let go. It's either that or an attack on his supporters, which is absolutely obtuse considering he has no control over that.
- dissident, on 11/25/2007, -2/+35Ron Paul shows how to walk above the mud. When slung his way, he just repackages the words of the person and lobs them back unsealed.
I really like his character and wish other candidates would use his example. Show you agenda, let everyone see what it is and then let everyone decide.
This is a great interview
http://digg.com/politics/Fox_s_Neil_Cavuto_backing ... - groverblue, on 11/25/2007, -4/+36You do know that his positions are those of our forefathers, right? To hate "his positions" is the real kooky position. And you say that he is racist... can you provide proof of this, or you just blindly repeating what other people are saying. Trying thinking for yourself for once.
- Tenbatsu404, on 11/25/2007, -2/+32Dude, if you had any clue about Ron Paul's supporters you would realize they have nothing in common. They are the most heterogeneous group of people out there. We have supporters who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year who pay 85k for an ad in the USA Today and people who are barely making ends meet donating $100.00 instead of giving gifts this Christmas.
If you even believe that the majority of us are in one income bracket or another you haven't a freakin' clue what we are all about man.
- inactive, on 11/25/2007, -2/+30Become a Delegate or Ron Paul will not be elected!
- theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -3/+31I also like Kucinich, he's pretty uncorruptable, like Ron Paul, which is why they both get lampooned by the media and their own parties. But we do need a hands off foreign policy. Paul advocates trade, diplomacy and dialogue but no unnecessary militarism. This is dead on to what we need.
- Sp0rAdiC, on 11/25/2007, -0/+28Yes, but think of all the free press Ron Paul will get if he raises $10m in a single day. That's what is great about these money bombs, they can't be ignored. If you can donate both days, do so. I'm saving my 3rd $100 donation for the 16th, to help push him past the $10m mark in a single day.
- theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -7/+34But he's not racist or crazy, and you're not disuading anyone of anything.
So why do you hate him if he's not racist or crazy then? Are you yourself crazy, or a racist? - Tenbatsu404, on 11/25/2007, -2/+29Hey Onetimer, your boy Obama voted to keep the Patriot Act alive in 2005. What's up with that? He said that Bush's foreign policy was much akin to his in 2006, what's up with that? Sorry dude, I know who you support now, and he is just another phony ass politician coughed up by the media.
- EuphopiaB, on 11/25/2007, -4/+31Then attack him on the positions. When you attack by tossing names and false accusations you just make yourself look like an ass.
- smoothmedia, on 11/25/2007, -4/+30Ron Paul for the Long Haul baby!
- CanIGetAWitness, on 11/25/2007, -2/+28Dugg for the articles comments. They were amusing and disturbing. Here's a favorite, but not completely accurate as another comment actually points out his attraction is economics. They are all arguing with each other and the amount of racist accusations and misinformation is mind boggling.

The day after the $4m fund-raising, so many comments were about Paul's 'legitimacy' and not too many comments about his peoples' accomplishment.
I said it on that day and I'll say it again: Paul's stance on Iraq - immediate and unconditional withdrawal - earned him a $4m dollar day.
But the Dems, the ones I give money to and who I vote for - still cannot manage to come with a coherent witdrawal policy.
More coherent than Cindy Sheehan, more authentic than Nancy Pelosi, more consistent than Hillary Clinton.
But they're all 'fools,' right? For putting their money with the guy who doesn't change his position from one day to the next.
Fools...indeed.
How's the impeachment process going? Wait, I mean the FISA bill. No, sorry, I mean SCHIP. Or is it the wiretapping bill?
How are we doing on all that? - inactive, on 11/25/2007, -2/+27So what isn't there to agree with? I'm curious. These kos readers seem like they haven't even listened to a single thing he has to say.
He wants you to have your civil liberties. He wants you to keep the money you shell out every year in taxes, he wants to immediately bring troops home from iraq and everywhere else, he's for peace........blah blah blah I could go on forever. How is this not likable? Because he doesn't play into the 2 party game? Enlighten me. - catalysis, on 11/25/2007, -4/+29On dailykos, anyone who disagrees with them is labeled a racist.
- brad3378, on 11/25/2007, -1/+24that could get expensive
- theiggy, on 11/25/2007, -13/+35I dont think you need to attack Kos for at least getting some of the details right.
It's good that they're posting about Ron Paul. If their readers actually knew and understood his positions, record, and that he's the only honest politician running, they'd put aside their 'netroots' and support his candidacy. He's providing everyone a much better chance to get rid of the neocons from within the Republican party than to do it by Democratic partisanship. He's one of the most healthy things that's happened to American politics in a long, long time.
Alot of people don't get the fundraising or support yet. That's fine, they can continue to analyze and the supporters will continue to raise. - Nerys, on 11/25/2007, -2/+23(I personally respect him, but strongly disagree with his views on most issues)
I simply can not comprehend this. His opinions are in fact not opinions They are the LETTER OF LAW that this country was Founded on and is LEGALLY governed by as the Ultimate Law. The Constitution of the United States of America.
The constitution is not a suggestion. ANYTHING that violates the constitution is technically ILLEGAL TREASON and NOT VALID LAW.
The patriot act for example is NOT US LAW. It can not be as by definition its in violation of the CONSTITUTION making it NULL AND VOID the moment bush signed it. You are legally NOT obligated to adhere to it and in fact it would be CRIMINAL to adhere to it. (NOW consider what is LAW and what is "ENFORCED" are two completely different things :-)
I like Ron Paul for ONE REASON and ONE REASON ONLY. he Follows the law the ULTIMATE ABSOLUTE TREASON TO VIOLATE law of this nation. The Constitution. Its not a suggestion folks. Its the LAW. the ONLY law that matters the law that ALL OTHER LAWS must abide by to be legal.
If you do not LIKE IT then you are saying you DO NOT want to live here ? IE you want to DISOBEY our laws ??
So I am confused when I read:
(I personally respect him, but strongly disagree with his views on most issues)
When such is in OPPOSITION to the constitution.
If you do not like an ASPECT of the constitution you do not get to simply DISMISS IT. there is PROCEDURE in place for CHANGING the constitution if we so desire. Its called an amendment.
One example. I hate this example since its touchy subject. Free Speech and Gun Control.
ALL LAWS. 100% of all laws governing the possession of firearms and the enactment of free speech (no matter the format) are NOT LAWFUL US LAWS. 100% of them are absolutely illegal.
What part of CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW is unclear or up for interpritation? What part of SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED is unclear?
This does not mean you can restrict a LITTLE. or you can require SOME permits. EVEN A 7 DAY WAIT (a law I happen to LIKE) is absolutely 100% illegal. "free speech zones" 100% illegal.
ANY government organization not DEFINED in the constitution (SS Welfare education etc..) 100% illegal.
Its just the way it is. Simple basic FACTS. If the constitution does not EXPLICITLY permit it its ILLEGAL. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION.
If you do not like it your choices are SIMPLE. Either LEAVE the country OR do whats needed to AMEND the constitution. NOTE the bill of rights are not open for amendment. The bill of rights does NOT grant us rights. Rights are INTRINSIC. The bill of rights tells the GOVERNMENT clearly this but NOT ONLY this are things you can NOT do.
"(I personally respect him, but strongly disagree with his views on most issues)"
Means you STRONGLY DISAGREE with the Constitution of the United States of America which is just alien to me. I can not fully comprehend the logic of such a stance. - orxor, on 11/25/2007, -2/+22According to the 4.2 million that were collected last time, a lot.
I know I donated and I have never before donated to a politician. - groverblue, on 11/25/2007, -2/+22Andrew Jackson knew this very well. He hated paper money and the central bank because it only served the interest of the rich. Google it.
- matador3, on 11/25/2007, -1/+20It's simple.
In 1913 an ounce of gold would buy you a nice suit, in 2007 an ounce of gold would buy you a nice suit.
In 1907 $20 in Federal Reserve Notes would buy you a suit, in 2007 $820 in Federal Reserve Notes would buy you a nice suit. - tdrizzle, on 11/25/2007, -2/+20That was the dumbest thing I have ever skimmed through. You are completely insane.
- Kwashiorkor, on 11/25/2007, -5/+23Invest it in gold, and in four years, we'll have enough to buy Catalina Island, and secede. :-)
- CoheednCambria, on 11/25/2007, -6/+24"Obama is the best on the Democratic side, mostly because of his popularity among net-savvy younger voters"
Say what??? - Tenbatsu404, on 11/25/2007, -2/+20Who's the "crazy loony" now?
- cameljoe, on 11/25/2007, -0/+18The problem with their viewpoint is that there is nothing to "put in a test-tube" to study.. It's like the Field of Dreams movie.. build it, and they will come.
The only thing these other candidates need to "test-tube" is honesty, and truthfulness, and straightforward answers. It's amazing what it can do.
It's really sad tho also when you read all the racist, and doesn't want healthcare for children comments. The guys an obstetrician for christ sake!!
I would guarantee that if you put every campaign donor of EVERY other candidate under a microscope, you would find a fair share of questionable people. ie. racists, child-hater's, etc. They're blowing nothing out of proportion, and aren't taking the time to really analyze themselves and their own candidates.
Would it be fair to say Hillary supports womanizers? Because after all, her husband did have a problem with cheating if we all remember right.
Or Obama supporting racists, because I can guarantee some of his supporters are only voting for him because of his color, and believe it's about time they get a black man in office.
I'm not racist at all, and I would have, just as of 3 months ago, considered myself very socialist leaning. But I'm tired of it all. Tired of no straight answers, tired of people not taking their own initiative to fix their own problems, tired of waiting to be saved and handouts. They need to turn to their families, friends, and local community groups and churches for help. Not the government. They need to form unions, form help groups, start their own grass roots, rather than waiting for the rain of money's from above. The only 2 people in the that ran for president in the last 8 years worth a damn was Kucinech and Nader, two people that spoke the truth, and fought for those people. But the people didn't realize a good thing when they saw it. Now the US is involved in a war, and personal liberties have been sacrificed. And those are two things I can't support. Period.
GO RON PAUL!!!!!!!! w00t w00t!! - dankCIA, on 11/25/2007, -6/+23I think the concept, like Guy Fawkes day, is great. But the real question is - How many Paul supporters will actually put their money where their digg articles/comments are and pony up ?
- groverblue, on 11/25/2007, -1/+18"And ultimately he is a good Christian and that's what this country needs right now. This is a Christian nation, founded in a strong belief in G-D."
You just showed your ignorance. and BTW, "conservative" has always meant "conservative government," not "Christian conservative," and a conservative government is one that does not interfere with a peoples rights. You really need a history lessons.
Another thing, religion is a PERSONAL experience, not a state experience. Keep is out of my government. If you think I'm "crazy" for thinking that, then maybe you should read up on Thomas Jefferson a little :http://www.nobeliefs.com/jefferson.htm - inactive, on 11/25/2007, -2/+19When people see truth they are sometimes scared by it. This guy is a perfect example. Start making ***** up, that'll really work *rolleyes* .....I can't honestly find anything he says to be racist at all. As far as the anti-Semite crap goes, nobody wants to send money to israel, that doesn't mean he hates jews. You guys are reaching for ***** to slam him with and you have nothing to back it up with.
