- montiff, on 12/17/2007, -31/+779Just checked the big 3 24hour news networks, nothing about Paul as usually even with a 6 million one day haul. What a ***** joke, how much money do we have to raise?
- hydrodev, on 12/17/2007, -44/+576It all came from Ron Paul Spammer Bots!
Yea Right! - jimmyjay, on 12/17/2007, -24/+314Nearly every time Ron Paul receives positive news coverage the anchorperson inserts the caveat that he is a ‘long shot’, or not polling as high as the ‘front runners’ - - all this is biased journalism and it’s working out too be self fulfilling.
Very few of our fellow Americans will involve themselves in the issues or substance of politics in any way shape or form, other than voting on election day, at which time, having been subtly manipulated by polling data, they’ll likely vote for someone they perceive as being electable.
After all, why would they ‘bother’ to show up at the polls and vote for a looser?
- LordSkywalker, on 12/17/2007, -11/+278My questions is why does Lieberman endorsing McCain get more news coverage than 50,000+ supporters endorsing Ron Paul? And not only did this huge group of supporters endorse him, we donated. Speaking with our hard earned money, we raised over $6 million dollars and the MSM has the audacity to ignore us while in the mean time giving tons of coverage to McCain and Huckabee?
I hate MSM, but I can't deny that isn't going anywhere any time soon. Paul's campaign has to start that nationwide tv ad. Seeing him on commericals and hearing how well he does in the Iowa primary is what Paul needs to get more support and nationwide recognition. Once more people know about him, you'll see support for "most honest candiate as of now" Huckabee drop like a rock and Paul's support will soar. - cusoman, on 12/17/2007, -21/+225Wow, one finally made it to the front page... amazing. Guess the Digg Censors/bury brigade can't be troubled forever.
- spyd3rweb, on 12/17/2007, -15/+211The people in Mike Huckabee's forum actually had a group prayer party, to pray that Ron Paul wouldn't make any money yesterday.
- gdibble, on 12/17/2007, -33/+182Please digg this article and then click the author's name and kindly thank him for featuring Dr. Paul.
- mmazing, on 12/17/2007, -2/+124If it was McCain or Huckabee that raised this much in a single day, the entirety of mainstream media would collectively orgasm.
I would be impressed if Huckabee or McCain did this, why the hell can't they be impressed that we did? MSM is starting to make me very, very angry. - alvinrod, on 12/17/2007, -14/+131Forget the main stream media. We've known that they'd only be giving token support from the start. We've already shown that we can get double digit poll expectations only through the internet and our own hard work. Keeping handing out flyers. Keep hanging up banners. Keep spreading the word about Dr. Paul to your friends and family. Sign up as a delegate and vote in your state primary. It doesn't matter how much the old media or the bury brigade on Digg tries to hide the message. People will take notice of our message and our passion, and that will translates into results. Even if Dr. Paul doesn't win this election, a large portion of America has been alerted to the alarming situations that our country faces. Stay involved and we can't lose.
- Wulfgang, on 12/17/2007, -7/+122I say we ignore the MSM all together unless someone organizes a boycott. It's a waste of time. We need to get active phoning Iowa and NH and beyond, door to door, hand out flyers, sign waving and sign posting.
It's hopeless to think the MSM is going to give the Ron Paul campaign a fair shot.
They've never made it so glaringly clear that they are not in the business of fairness and I have no doubt they will reap what they've sewn. - Ghoztt, on 12/17/2007, -24/+126The Revolution is at hand. WE ARE THE ONES WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
- gdibble, on 12/17/2007, -22/+118Every person that I've ever met or talked to in some way votes ONLY ONCE for Ron Paul, be it online polls or actual straw poll events. We are real, honest Americans who care to save this country for the sake of our future & kin.
- jdaniel284, on 12/17/2007, -33/+122Ron Paul will be the next President of the United States. A few powerful media and corporate elistists cannot stop it. We are too powerful and we are not for sale.
- MindTrigger, on 12/17/2007, -7/+90The mainstream news coverage of this is hilarious. So far both blurbs I have seen on Fox, for example, quickly mention the amount of money, and that "a record" was broken. That is it. It's usually summed up in about two sentences, and then pushed aside. You would think that such an occasion would spark some discussion about Dr. Paul, but mainstream news just wants to mention it and get off the subject as fast as possible.
- fluoro, on 12/17/2007, -5/+88I watched Fox News for about 10 minutes. One moment they were saying something about "which candidate do you like best?" and listed a bunch of Republican candidates except Ron Paul. But a few minutes later they did do a short segment mentioning the Tea Party money bomb.
- jaymzdean, on 12/17/2007, -11/+84Could we get Huckabee's boys to hang the MSM by it's neck, slit it's throat and stone it to death?
- Treason, on 12/17/2007, -1/+65That would be devastating...
- blubolt, on 12/17/2007, -3/+64Money needs to be raised but AWARENESS is the big thing in this campaign. Ask the right questions - Present RP as a solution.
- totorototoro, on 12/17/2007, -10/+69jesus, thats a lot of ***** contributions.
- spyd3rweb, on 12/17/2007, -9/+67Then they shall have been spent on a good cause.
- TwinTurboMike, on 12/17/2007, -2/+58"how much money do we have to raise?"
Enough to buy the big 3. - inf0, on 12/17/2007, -29/+85Ron Paul 2008!
- GrammerPants, on 12/17/2007, -1/+54Actually it was on CNN this morning. Something about a looooong shot presidential candidate.
- guyinjapan, on 12/17/2007, -6/+57It'll become completely worthless and wind up in a box in a basement somewhere, just like the Constitution.
- JCM0165, on 12/17/2007, -3/+53So their Christian Black Magick didn't work? haha
Are you referring to www.mikehuckabeeforum.com ? - numb, on 12/17/2007, -5/+52Maybe he wanted to reinforce your point?
- jerryterhorst, on 12/17/2007, -5/+52FTA: "What he has done is establish himself as a major candidate, and he's no longer a fringe voice," says Corrado.
funny, i thought the support of the people made someone a "major" candidate, not the amount of money they raised. welcome to the united states of big business. it's also quite scary that this guy considers someone who stands for liberty, freedom, and peace a "fringe voice". says a lot about the state of american politics. - jcastillo81, on 12/17/2007, -5/+51Hookers and blow of course!
- haterrade, on 12/17/2007, -1/+45most candidates usually try to blow it all by the end, but if there's any left they're allowed to use it for other campaigns, so he'd probably use it for his re-election bids
they're also allowed to donate it to non-profits/charities/their political party or return it to donors (never happens) - renzien, on 12/17/2007, -11/+52Alright, finally one made the front page. Seriously, it took this long because people were finding comments about RP in cooking articles. Please, people, I wholly support RP but try to keep things relevant. RP supporters should know what blowback is...
- GMorgan, on 12/17/2007, -2/+41I doubt a Libertarian really sees much of a difference between the parties right now.
- mmazing, on 12/17/2007, -6/+44Maybe because polls are stupid and worthless?
Remember to yell "***** You Frank!" every time you see a poll. And if you don't get that, watch the episode of Penn And Teller:***** about Numbers. - roystgnr, on 12/18/2007, -0/+37The funniest thing I saw was an MSNBC news anchor saying "He needs to share his secrets with some of the other candidates, so they can sit at home and watch TV while other people raise money with them."
He is sharing his secrets. In every speech. They're called American principles. The other candidates just don't want them. But to hear the news media spin it, all that's going on is that Romney and Giuliani just haven't decided to use the internet yet. That must be all it is; surely since the supporters of "Double Guantanamo" are willing to sacrifice the Bill of Rights for political reasons they must be the kind of people who are willing to sacrifice their own financial well-being, too, right? And we'd all love to send a hundred bucks to help the taxpayers fund Giuliani's next adulterous affair, if only Rudy would figure out how to set up a nice enough website! - Rippleeffect, on 12/17/2007, -11/+47Serious question, but what would happen to the funds if he doesn't get the presidential nomination?
- guyinjapan, on 12/17/2007, -3/+38The MSM also loves to tack on sentences that reference his "small, fervent group of Internet supporters" - brushing us all off as though we're insignificant, virtual people. Anyone watching Fox or CNN probably figures his followers number in the hundreds, not the hundreds of thousands. The media really does decide the president.
- drjones78, on 12/17/2007, -1/+36I listened to a bunch of right wing talk shows today, Rush included just to see if they would mention the money bomb. Not a single word. Heard plenty about Libermans endorsement of McCain, as if its a topic worthy of discussion.
- rarson, on 12/17/2007, -4/+38Obviously Paul is still picking up supporters, and ones who care about him enough to donate to his campaign. I think a lot of people who donate to Paul are first-timers. I know I was. I would never imagine myself giving more money to a politician (my taxes are more than they deserve), but the world seems to turn upside-down when you've got an honest candidate with a real message.
Note, yesterday wasn't my first time donating to Paul. But Paul is the first candidate I've ever really wanted to support. - vawksel, on 12/17/2007, -5/+396 mil in 24 hours... Try 18 Million Dollars for this QUARTER alone. Only 5% to 8% of the voting population votes in the primaries. So, how many Giuliani supporters are enthusiastic enough about him to go vote in the primaries versus Ron Paul supporters?
- JordanM85, on 12/17/2007, -10/+43Like him or not, this is impressive. But will it be enough for him to finally get some respect in the media?
- luftrofl, on 12/17/2007, -21/+53Wow, RP has received donations from 120,000 people.
That's why you're not getting any newstime. - gdibble, on 12/17/2007, -6/+38my bad, correction: 'kindly thank HER' =)
- Calypsoaf, on 12/17/2007, -1/+33Cafferty had a segment on Paul on The Situation Room today, he talked about the money and read some emails, to the question of how Ron Paul can raise so much money so fast, yet be so low in the polls.
- JJ2K1, on 12/17/2007, -11/+42"Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof."
- renzien, on 12/17/2007, -8/+39why would you not expect a lot of excitement on one of the biggest days of the year for the movement?? there is a firefox digg filter out there, use it!
- spyd3rweb, on 12/17/2007, -0/+30yeah that forum is funny isn't it. :)
- pomfstudios, on 12/18/2007, -8/+37Wait till tomorrow, the news is gonna have him plastered all over the place on tuesday.
