- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -9/+23Great video! Save America, vote Ron Paul!
- SleepParalysis, on 10/11/2007, -11/+21This is a great video, very moving.
- r3gis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9personally he is pro-life, politically, he would leave it to the sates to decide...as it should be
- jogleby, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I'm a Democrat and I'm glad Ron Paul is a Republican. I just wish the Dems could put forth a candidate a good as him. I would love to have a presidential election were I have to choose who is the better of two great men, instead of who isn't the worst of two unscrupulous men that have been bought and paid for a long time ago.
Down with the Empire. Long live the Republic. - Bunkyo, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11Wonderful. Everyone has to see this.
- kelchm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5damn straight. He is an American hero.
How depressing that some of his ideas [or rather the ideas of the founding fathers] seem so revolutionary today. - cyberdork, on 10/11/2007, -6/+10"This is the real reason the collectivist Left hates religion: Churches as institutions compete with the state for the people’s allegiance, and many devout people put their faith in God before their faith in the state. Knowing this, the secularists wage an ongoing war against religion, chipping away bit by bit at our nation’s Christian heritage."
Ron Paul - alice104, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Fantastic.
- chessmasterjoe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You defeatist don't realize how few people actually vote. We don't have to convert the established voters. All we have to do is get out the vote. There are a lot of Democrats that will vote for Ron.There are a lot of young people that will vote for Ron Paul. There are a lot of people like me that will vote for Ron Paul and do whatever I can to get other people to the polls to vote for Ron Paul. Don"t go to the polls alone. Take at least two people with you.
Don't rely on poll numbers to decide who will win. Have you ever been asked your opinion on a poll? Who do they ask? How slanted are the questions? You can make a poll say anything you want to.
Don"t be discouraged by all the people that are saying that Ron does not stand a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected. They don"t want him to get elected. So they will say whatever they can to discourage you. Keep the faith and work to educate other people so they can make an informed decision on who will be the next president of these United States.
God bless all. - hlcno, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Amazing video.
- sleepingcow, on 10/11/2007, -6/+8i wish he was a democrat. not because i am one (which I'm not) but because i don't think America will vote for a republican president. he sounds so promising and seem to be promising since what he voted for is what i believe in.
- PeppermintPig, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5In the Libertarian world, Ron Paul justifies his position as an argument for individual rights. Within that same realm, I would argue that the host of a fetus has domain insomuch that there is no obligation to support that fetus: assuming individual rights are recognized, one cannot respect one life but not the other, or one life over the other. Then again, I think that killing a fetus would be a violation of individual rights, which leaves a narrow space for charity and science (science has to catch up a bit). So I am consequently pro-choice, but just barely.
I still support Ron, though I disagree with his logic. His pros make him worth voting for still.
And this does nothing to argue the morality of such an act. That argument is best for address of real-life situations rather than speculative contextual debate. - Nydas, on 10/11/2007, -10/+11It was. Song fits perfectly.
- nondescrypt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The French have had more revolutions than the U.S. (not counting the 2008 Ron Paul revolution, of course)
- nondescrypt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"Unfortunately hes never going to be elected" -WRONG! why? cuz CNN said so? f*orget CNN, watch the video again, he can do it ! WE can do it, friend.
- nondescrypt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Beautiful !!! really well done, keep it up & thanks !
- russellnation, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4just did research .... pro lifer..... I won't vote for him.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+8In 2009, the Ron Paul Army will Occupy and Liberate the national capital in DC.
Like Madame DeFarge, I am knitting patiently and taking names for appointments with La Guillotine. - Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3@BrandonMills: I think the republicans have pretty much resigned themselves to losing the presidency in 2008. The sights of the republican heavyweights, like Jeb Bush are already set to 2012, when they believe people will have forgotten Bush, and be disenchanted with the tax hikes the next, democrat, president will have to impose.
This opens up the field for fringe & longshot candidates. They may not have a chance to win, but the lack of competition means they get heard. - kelchm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Awesome video...
Ron Paul is the only man that I feel is capable of turning this country around... Unfortunately hes never going to be elected. There are too many powerful people that will do everything they can to ensure that. - KMye, on 10/11/2007, -8/+7Okay, be honest, how many of you jacked off to it?
- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2A lot of things should be left up to the states to decide that aren't, usually because shameless use of the interstate commerce clause. But pro-choice people, in general, argue that abortion is protected under your constitutional right to privacy, in which case letting the states regulate it is not at all as it should be. Should Georgia be able to decide whether you have 4th amendment rights? Or Massachusetts decide whether you have a right to bear arms? I understand that intelligent, good-hearted people can be pro-life, though I disagree with them, but if, politically, your stance is that it should be left to the states, then your political stance is pro-life. I'm not sure RP denies this, though, as he voted for the recent partial birth abortion ban, which has resulted in active federal regulation of abortion...

>personally he is pro-life, politically, he would leave it to the sates to decide...as it should be
Then why did he vote against allowing citizens to have legal access to RU486? How does banning the FDA from approving it allow states to decide? - carpespasm, on 10/11/2007, -7/+6because that worked soooo well for the french right?
- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2I agree our political parties are broken and that under Bush, spending has increased more than enough to make a rabid democrat blush, but arguing to eliminate the income tax at this moment in time. While the federal budget having increased by over 33% in the last seven years may sound like a lot, it's actually only increased by 3% as a percentage of GDP. Ron either understands this, and is being disingenuous, or he's being ignorant and/or crazy when he says cutting a third of our federal budget wouldn't matter - especially when in a few short years, the baby boomers will start collecting SS checks and using Medicare. I agree we have a lot of fat to cut from the government, and a lot of corruption to weed out, but eliminating nearly a trillion dollars instantly is simply not workable.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -9/+7"If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."
-- Ron Paul - BrandonMills, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3He won't make it past the primary. It's 2007, and just now, Republicans are screaming over a party takeover that began more than two decades ago. Let's be honest - you used the groups you hate now for votes. It seemed like a good deal at the time. If you really objected to the flirting with religion that the Republican party has been doing, you should have been louder back when it mattered. It felt good to win elections, though, right? Funny that only when they're set up for defeat is the party actually talking about all the serious problems it's had for years.
Libertarians are better off forming their own party and opposing the current holders of power. It's most likely too late to stop what is set in motion. Without direct opposition from someone, the Republican party will continue in the direction it's headed. What will happen to Ron Paul as a result of the powers that be should be a direct signal for those of you who really don't fit into the Democratic party, but don't agree with the Republican party, to start acting for change.
In short, it's too late for an inside job. You need to go outside the party.
Of course, you might lose a quite a few elections before you make progress, but a total party takeover is very unlikely at this point. Especially with media interests like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News setup to swat down any intelligent discourse you might have.
So the question really isn't about Ron Paul. He's not going to be picked in the primaries. The question is, "Do Republicans really want change, or are they just desparate to win the '08 Presidency?". - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3Kmye:

>Hasn't he made a video called "stop gaming Digg and cheating at online polls"?
Some might be stupid enough to support this extremist candidate, but there's no question that they spam. Here's some quotes from their old spamming board:
"I thank everyone for getting me to 361." -- post on underground Libertarian Digg mailing list, about "Fixing" Digg.
"I'm seeing more complaints in the comments about all the Mises.org articles hitting the front page. Should we be more selective?" -- post on underground Libertarian Digg board, about their success in fixing Digg.
"I really think this has been a phenomenal opportunity to spread the ideas of Austrian economics to a huge market" -- post on underground Libertarian Digg mailing list, about fixing Digg.
"It might be helpful to post libertarian articles that do not explicitly identify themselves as libertarian." -- Post on underground Libertarian Digg fixing board

>My favorite inspirational quote from Paul "Bu....er......hm....eh...(waves arms...)"
I laughed out loud at that one -- my favorite Ron Paul quotes are:
"Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began." http://www.nizkor.org/ftp.cgi/people/g/ftp.py?people/g/gannon.dan/1992/gannon.0793
“Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action.” [Victoria Advocate, 5/24/96]
“The Criminals who terrorize our cities - in riots and on every non-riot day - are not exclusively young black males, but they largely are. As children they are trained to hate whites, to believe that white oppression is responsible for all black ills, to fight the power, to steal and loot as much money from the white enemy as possible. Anything is justified against The Man.’” [Victoria Advocate, 8/7/96]
“There is no such thing as a hate crime.” [Ron Paul: Political Action Report, 1/15/92] - russellnation, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2sweet a president(maybe) that gets praise for cutting jobs......
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -11/+7@bigdavediode: No, I hadn't seen that. I knew they were coordinating their efforts somewhere, but I didn't know where. Thanks!
My favorite inspirational Ron Paul quote? Hmmm... Maybe this one:
"We don't think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That's true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such." - Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -18/+10Hasn't he made a video called "stop gaming Digg and cheating at online polls"?
Maybe he should? - Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -17/+7@dshpls: You don't think the Ron Paul quotes about 95% of blacks being criminals, or that religion should be more influential in society than the state, or that the jews run the congress, are inspirational?
- dshPls, on 10/11/2007, -21/+9My favorite inspirational quote from Paul "Bu....er......hm....eh...(waves arms...)"
Makes me tear up every time as he trys to construct sentences and looks at the studios lights in awe while being interviewed.
